Have you looked at it or driven it??

They are nice little cars, fairly rare too.

I personally think your Alpha is much nicer looking than that!

Why not go for a MX5?

I had an MX-3 for about a year.

Really enjoyed it overall, lovely handling and overall very sporty feel. Really responsive engine etc - lovely on a winding A or B road, absolutely hideous in town / traffic.

The V6 makes an absolutely fantastic noise, I really can't emphasise that enough!! - Is very quiet with a standard exhaust - I popped up to a company in Gloucester for a custom cat-back, much like Powerflow do, but better quality. It sounded absolutely brilliant once I had that fitted, and as a bonus not many people wanted to ride with me as it hurt the ol' ears :D

Negative points about the MX-3:

A food processor probably has more torque..... My Yaris only has something like 7NM less torque than an MX-3

and of course the drink problem!! Might not bother some at all... but I wouldn't welcome the fuel bills again. Mine averaged about 26 MPG. Yaris gets near 40 :ph43r:

I'd only get one again if I could stick the KLZE (2.5 V6) in it - 200bhp. Would be an absolute cracker of a car!

Last note - Mine was very reliable, had no issues apart from air-con leakages (needed a new condensor) depite no service history but cambelt is an expensive job unless you've got a mate who can do it. Together with a major service, I forked out about £600, and I worked for a garage who could do it all at cost!

engine is non-interference though I believe, so if the belt goes you won't have to buy 24 new valves, if you would prefer to leave it and risk an inconvenient tow home some time!!

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

i looked into them a while ago, for the money you pay you dont get much car, the roofs leak alot, and the engines are under powered, plus they rust in bad places as stated.

and imo the front looks gash.

dont do it. get a colt, thats what i did
