97 Wrx Engine In A 94

got a mate selling a forged ej20 engine from a 1997 wrx, will it fit into a 1994 impreza

It will fit but the wiring will be different so it will have to be adapted....unless its a short engine, where you may have to use the heads from the 94 engine bolted on.

what wires have to be adapted, do the heads on the 2 engines swap ove ok?

TBH im not entirely sure what wires but the heads would be straight forward. You best bet is to post it on scoobynet.

ok....looks like the heads will be fine because the 97 engine is a phase 1 engine(well 1.5) and not a phase 2 as i thought so a short engine will fit right in using the existing inlet manifold etc.

No mate, as long as you use the inlet manifold.
