Exhaust Db Meter Results/testing

right ive just been out to test my exhaust with the new db meter. the instructions are a little simple but basically the setting which i had to try is the weighting:
A = Noise level
C = Sound level (musical material)

my results from both with and without bung were

A without bung = 104db
A with bung = 100db
C without bung = 114db
C with bung = 112db
all readings are from the peak reading reached not the average.

so from the instructions i'm pretty certain the setting i would need for the weighting is A so my car only actually makes 104db without the bung. that sound about right to anybody or not? im going also by the fact that when the bung is inserted its actually quite quiet compared to most peoples exhausts i've heard so i very much doubt it would be 112db, and the C setting says for sound levels ie music, setting A is for noise level.

if anybody works in a garage with db testing equipment and would be able to test my exhaust at the same time i do just to confirm the setting i need that would be very helpful, or if somebody has had their exhaust tested and is happy for me to test it quickly to determine i have the right setting please let me know.

You might have to cross his hand with silver but he has a tester.

Ive got a DB meter somewhere, Ive got to dig it out for next season for use with out race car. I could try and find it for the Feb 3rd meet if anyone wants to use it to check there sound levels.

Remember there is a set distance and angle they will probably take the reading from, and a rev range, at Snetterton they are strict on sound for race meetings and make you do 3/4 full revs at I think just over a meter away.

combe is 4500rpm at half a meter away from the exhaust, so thats how i tested it earlier ;)
