Same as, but ours was on sky, so we went upstairs to watch it on freeview and that went the same time as yours, went downstairs to see if sky was back on at 9 and it was, so missed last half of 5th gear!! Got to watch Corrie though :ph43r: |

i thought it was alrite, on par wid top gear maybe, yeah top gear they take cars all over europe etc and have the star in a car, but thats because top gear has become more of an entertainment thing, 5th gear is more motorist based me thinks |

I thought it was better than top gear in some ways. More like the top gear of old... less flashy and more about the cars. |

Blatant copy of TG for next week's shootout though... M3 vs C63AMG  Can't they think of anything original themselves ? Can't wait until they do the Veyron against a Typhoon *sigh* |

Brad, Exige... nice but every day and stuffy I reckon with the engine where it is. Caterham is where its at. I was looking at the specs in the back of Evo mag and the majority of cars are sub 4 seconds to 60 and only weigh in at 450kg's. It would be amazing to be that low to the ground. I am also liking the radical SR3 for that ultimate track toy

Brad, just a thought... but instead of buying a caterham what we could do through say BAT for example is hire a caterham superlight for the day. All i am thinking is that this means less wear on our cars.. plus I reckon time you factor in tyres, petrol and so on for the entire day it would actually work out cheaper. Ok there is a £1500 insurance excess if we stacked it, but my insurance excess on track is 2K anyway. Might be worth thinking about if seriously considering something like that? Also it means we can take it in turns to drive. Say 10-15 min sessions each all day will be plenty I expect? Its not a bad idea tbh. May even suggest it to becks and at least try and get her back out on track and not in my car

ok chap. I was talking to a mate at work about this and tbh if you think about it we would do say 4 or 5 'proper' track days per year say. By that I mean the goodwoods, Silverstones and Brands @ £250 a pop. Factor the petrol and what not and the initial cost of the caterham, a resonable one is 10k the R500 is 30k still!!! But you could use a superlight for the day with a friend and it cost about the same if not cheaper than running your day to dayer, which highlights the fact that me buying a deisel 3 series BM is a good idea :-)
