Its TD Rob... and to get the best out of it you would need to change the ecu.before you go upping the power you should upgrade the brakes...and it just so happens i have some for sale... |

may improve a bit, but as the turbo would be pushing through more air than the stock one, the engine would be running lean. so wouldnt do it great in the long run. |

As well as flowing alot more air the map on your ecu determines how much boost, fuel and ignition advance is needed through out the rev range on your car. By changing the turbo that will be all out of sinc due to the different boost characteristics of the turbo. Boost on the TD04 will come in alot earlier than the TD05 because the TD05 is a bigger turbo and takes a longer to spool up. Chances are it may feel quicker through lower revs but will never make full boost and could cause untold damage to the engine. |

the only way to go there then is ecu and turbo change together dont want to go knackering a perfectly good motor up do i now.not that im unhappy with its power just with induction kit and 0.96bar it made 213bhp and 227ft/lb should imagine its a little more now as ive de-catted and a cold air feed since then. best get saving my pennies thennnnnnnn. |

TBH Rob i think the TD05 is the wrong turbo for an auto it will just take to long to spool up.... |

I would say fit it then keep off boost and take the car to a rolling road and get them to check the fueling/det, as standard they run very rich. also with a maf setup the extra air flow will be noticed and will push the ecu further up the map. about 4 years ago I got 333bhp out of a standard UK 2000 map at 1.2bar on a IHI VF22 turbo And fueling was fine and no det eather. every engine is slightly different hence the gential standard maps

The TD04 is good for 280bhp or have a look here http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html for a hybrid td04. Whatever choice you make will cost a bit. |
