has anyone got a whteline anti-lift kit fitted? be interested to know what you think of it?

a friend keeps raveing about the postive effects he found with fitting one to a starlet turbo, but i dont want to have a negative effect on the handling of my car. as theres not alot wrong with it and i'll soon be haveing the expense of a new set of boots. can always remove and sell again if i dont like them i suppose but they arent exactly cheap for two tiny little bits of metal with bushes.

any thoughts??

cheers, luke

Everyone that has fitted it to the cars they have had off of me says there car become differant animal.

As in it should have been made with it as the cars become go cart like they are stuck to the road.

So I would say to the kits :worship:

Is this for the scooby though? If so I dont know if i'd bother. Its only coz the starlets front wheel drive. I presume the scooby has a 60:40 ratio for the 4wd? If so you want more weight at the back for pulling away. It depends how much its bogging down by. Anti lift kits generally induce more understeer.

Ive got the anti-lift castor kit for the starlet and its great but then it has caused it to understeer just slightly more. Not a huge amount but it was noticable when I first put them on. Im used to it now, but dont know what the recommendation is for a scooby?

Having said that, a quick google search has posted up a load of positive reviews. If I were you i'd make my own. All you need is the measurements from the whiteline kit and you can cut and drill youself some if you get the right materials. I reckon it will save you at least 2 thirds of the cost.

One of the first mods I did to my GC8 impreza done at the same time as the front anti roll bar helped alot big reduction in understeer and better drive out to corners too.

recomended :)

Oops I meant oversteer. Always get them wrong.
Not that its too drastic in a Starlet, its just a big difference to when your used to sliding over the front wheels all the time and the next time you have some spirited cornering the car twitches at the back, even more so under breaking.
The Scoob should do well with the kit anyway. A research paper ive been reading concludes:

With the ALK fitted to the Subaru WRX, a softer suspension will be present during
braking and accelerating. This will help traction, as the wheel will be able to track the ground more precisely. Also in terms of balance the front end will have a proportionally lower roll resistance during traction or braking, aiding in reducing the power understeer effect that is present in these cars.

Anyway thats my geeking out done for the month, even though most of it was wrong. lol. Toodles
