Haven't changed them but to speak to Triton (look in the official vendor section) as they normally stock poly bushes |

not sure who's car you 've seen as i've not posted any piccies and don't have a wagon But all i've done to my car (93wrx saloon) is decat,Revolution exhaust system,Apexi IK, uprated to late model 4pot brakes (with better pads, goodridge hosing and 5.1 DOT fluid) |

i got Triton to do the whole job (calipers, discs, pads, hoses and fluid) but the calipers fit straight on so there is no messing around with any special brackets etc. The better hoses and fluid are a good start to get the brakes feeling better. |

The 2 pot brakes you have on your car Rob are usless.!! The normal upgrade is the 4 pot calipers from the later scooby which can be bought secondhand for about £250,maybe a bit more if discs are included. |

Just 1 thing as well make sure that if/when you do the conversion your wheels will fit . I has 16s on my car already but because of the spoke design wouldn't fit properly and scrapped a little of the brand new paint off my calipers so i went with the late model 5 spoke alloys as they would definately fit.

If your going to mod the scoob and have the spare money i wouldnt bother with bushes but instead fit one of these kits..Will improve the handling no dout. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EIBACH-ANTI-ROLL-BAR...ksid=p1638.m118 |

If his bushes are worn then a good set of poly bushes all round will do wonders for the car, well they would do anyway replacing the stock items. The whiteline stuff is pretty good if looking at ARB's as is the Eibach stuff you have posted Jay

The thing is if the scoobs react the same or similar ways to Evo's then firstly the front ARB is a pig to fit, and secondly you can induce understeer by fitting a thicker front one. What I have found a lot of people have done is fit thicker rear ones, either cusco or whiteline and have gone for adjustable ones. That way you can tighten or loosen the rear to your own requirements. This is the route I am leaning towards, but again I am basing this only on Evo ownership and I dont know if the same would apply for a scub. |

to be honest mr8 scoobs are a piece of cake to work on,both front and rear ARB are easily acsessable.the front one is 19mm and the rear measures 17mm which is where im having the problem because whiteline seem to think the rear should also be 19mm and thy dont do a 17mm bush for a scoob. they are prone to destroying rear bushes although mine are fine i just thought it would be nice to tighten him up with some new bushes and poly billet drop links

I've had the rear droplinks done a well (from Triton again) and the steering rack bush. I personally don't see the point of uprating the ARBs unless you are going to track/race the car as, imo, everyday use doesn't require them. f you need good suspension advice (not saying you won't get that on here) speak to a guy called 911 (think his name is Graham) on scoobynet as he hillclimbs his classic and has tested a lot of various parts and settings. |

well....i can see what your saying there but im one of those people who like to do a complete job. as it turns out ive just had to go and buy a bigger rear anti roll bar because it is definatly 17mm on rear and poly bushes start at 18mm so i had no alternative. so people wit wagons if your doing your bushes you will need a bigger rear anti roll bar to upgrade to poly bushes on pre 96 wagons. happy daysssssss <_< |

IMO upgrading the anti roll bars is probably the best suspension mod you can do on a scooby unless you potter about at 25mph everywhere. I had mine on the limit many times and its fecking scarey...understeer more understeer then just a little more to finish with. |

If you get understeer then you are pushing it too hard that's not a fault of the ARBs but the driver. If you feel understeer don't keep going as you will obviously get more |

Subaru dialed in oversteer to the scooby because they see that as the safest type of handling and in everyday use it probably is.......But come on how many people bought a scooby to potter about like Miss Daisey?? IIRC yours has coilovers Paul so i guess yours handles pretty well

Scoobs understeer as standard don't they (at least that's what i get ) as that is an easier warning then suddenly facing the wrong way (which i've experienced with the standard ARB and uprated rear drop links very embarrassing  ).The coilovers may make the car handle well (but i've not driven one without uprated suspension but, damn, they aren't comfortable but they are Jap spec). i do see our point though as the STIs had bigger arbs as standard but then they have DCCD. |

Loads, i wouldn't mind the Type R being sold on here but i would smash it up because i would spend more time fiddling with it (the dccd). it amazes me that they don't offer lessons/track day to see how it works. |

a pair of strut braces, thicker arb's, good suspension setup and ANTI LIFT KIT will see you actually going round corners, the anti lift kits do wonders
