a handful of people are using the same turbo with that psi. it should see me in the region of 300-400bhp, anything around 350bhp i'll settle for that, after all i need to drive the thing.

oh and jay its a garrett gt3076.

ofcourse mate, when i boost it in january i'll be pushing about the limits of stock internals. so i'll be rebuilding it before the bigger turbo goes on.

are you fitting cast liners to the block? i was told that the standard honda block can only take 1 bar without falling to bits if liners arent fitted
Nissan built an Impreza before Subaru, its called the GTi-R

How are you planning on keeping the sort of BHP down I mean fwd cars are just not good enough to take that sort of power???

I am only 175bhp and in the wet it I spin in 3rd.... Could not even think about running 350+

Be amazing if you can pull it off

yeah 300hp is about the limit without having it sleeved so i need to get that done, i'll probably get that done when i fit the pistons and rods, that way they can fit it all, saves me doing it lol.

handling wise elaine it'll be coilovers, uprated ARB's, uprated LCA's, adjustable camber arms, strut bars all around, 15" alloys with 205 tyres, ebc turbo drilled & grooved discs, mintex pads, probably some prelude or legend calipers to upgrade to, either that or a set of wilwoods or something if i have the extra money to spend.
i'll also try an get a jdm d16 gearbox with the LSD fitted as uk spec didnt have it.

apexi avcr is on my list, seems a worthwhile bit of kit and its easy to adjust the boost pressure for tuning.

i kow what you mean elaine, may only have 133bhp at the moment but even i was spinning 1st 2nd and 3rd gear in the rain a few weeks ago, and that was with 17" alloys on at the time.

Should be interesting to see the results. James Browns one was quite special.

Andy just a suggestion from me,

Its well known amongst CRX circles that EBC discs are cack and standard sized discs are not up to the job of even stopping lightly modded CRX's when driven hard.

Considering they are the single most important part (well, including tyers ofc) I think you should consider something else.

Perhaps Rover 282mm plain discs and legend twin pot callipers and carriers? You'll get much stronger braking force from something like that than some cheap knock off.

ebc discs come in standard sizes and bigger sizes, i would be going for 282mm fronts and 262mm rears. i think its down to the size of the ebc discs people have been using that makes them cack, most people use the oem size which isnt up to the job. if you can think of any suggestions let me know and i'll look in to it.
i'll probably be getting some legend calipers and carriers just after new years as i really must get some discs on the rear, the oem setup with drums on the rear is shockingly bad even now.

That turbo is going to be laaaaggggyyyyy!!
[GK-customfield]Lewis[customfield-GK]
Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

How 'useable' is a 350/400bhp front wheel drive car?

should be borderline drivable paullen, but we'll have to wait and find out lol, its abit more fun not knowing exactly how it will be.

but apparently 300bhp is quite driveable still so it should be ok, so im told from somebody with a turbo eg civic running 300ish.

Well, the TOTB FWD handling winner 2005 (IIRC) was a MK2 CRX turbo running circa 300bhp.

I've just heard horror stories of EBC discs cracking after very limited use. I would think OEM 282mm discs and DECENT pads, ie Ferodo DS2500's coupled with the twin pots, would do an excellent job.

cheers julian, had forgot about the ferodo pads, knew id made a previous choice on pads but wasnt mintex. i'll look into some different discs for it but it will be some legend twin pots all round with 282mm fronts and probably 262mm rears.

Mintex 1144's would be ok for road use but crap if you ever used your Del Sol on track.

1155's would be a better compound.

Ferrodo 2500's would be resonable I would imagine. Or Hawks, Carbotech or Performance friction.

If you are opting for the 282mm disks, then I would also imagine that these would be similar to those supplied on the Integra after all they use a 282 front disk. in which case I wouldnt bother with OEM as they will warp if you need to use them properly. The EBC 282 would be a better option but get a blank rather than these drilled crap jobs as they are prone to stress cracks.

The caliper choice is a good one though  legend twin pots are virtually the same stoppers that the NSX comes with IIRC.
