Despite having newage Brembo’s I’ve always fancied a set of 6 or even 8 pots; AP’s would have been nice, but the price tag doesn’t currently agree with my wallet! And I didn’t fancy getting “D2s “ or the likes……… Being that AP’s and similar kits were just that little bit too pricey I decided to get some “endless” caliper covers. They fit perfectly and I’m sure the brakes have improved slightly because of this! But I’m sure its all in my head. Piccy below: - ![]() Yeah right as if I would buy those piles of sh1te!!!! But I couldn’t resist the temptation of pretending that I had… anyway on to the real options….. As some of you are aware the T25 from Litchfield comes with a certain brake upgrade i.e. Porsche 6 pots calipers… me likey lots…. And these really took my fancy, but I don’t think they sell this option to non T25 owners so had to look elsewhere. Doing a little search I found that Powerstation and Litchfield worked together on this conversion and will sell me a complete kit for a mere £1635 +VAT!! ![]() BARGAIN!!!!!!!! This kit was in a similar price bracket to the AP’s and out of the 2, AP’s would come out on top for me, so it was back to the drawing board! The Porsche option was still the favoured route, but I needed to find a cheaper alternative to the complete kit! Searching through the friendly ebay I found endless amounts of Porsche 4 pots and a few sets of Ap’s too, but even second-hand the AP’s fetch pretty good money. All was looking bad until one day I stumbled across a set of Porsche 6 pots in need of a bloody good refurb! They were removed from a 997 GT3 Cup race car and required new seals and a good rub down and re-paint. And here they were: - ![]() And here they are now: - ![]() ![]() I am well happy with the results so far, I just hope they will fit behind my wheels as there is only 5mm (max) clearance @ the moment! I have only cleaned the one so far as I need to use the other one for trial fitting and bracket manufacturing purposes etc etc; and I don’t want to scratch my lovely new paint work.. All going well I will have them fitted early next year, but before that happens I need to find time to size up and manufacture the mounting, source some 2 piece discs and spec some pads! Its not going to be a cheap upgrade all in all, but still a considerable saving over the Powerstation or AP options I will keep you updated with progress as, when and if it happens. Cheers Kev |

I wish, didn't you know that the iphone doubles up as Porsche brake pads!! a real bi-atch to answer whilst driving, but luckily the handfree kit works a treat...... The phone actually cost more than the calipers did Leesa. I will think about it......................... aaa no :P, but nice try |

You havent started being a Pilot with all the porsche stuff? Hmm mind you an air hostess is probably more your style They are going to look seriously cool though. 6 pots dare I coin the phrase are the way forward... or in fact the way to a standstill in this case I quite like the look of the AP 343 kit, but for me it can only be the Alcon setup for the E8 400. I love these

Cheers, gave him an email and unfortunately he doesn't stock them, but for £150 he will make me a set! As he could sell a few sets i personally think i should get them for free!!! I might try that cheeky approach and failing that just do them myself!
I haven't tried the pilot line yet, but maybe i will . and whats wrong with an air-hostess!!! some of them are hot and I wouldn't mind joining the mile high club P.S. Those Alcons do look schweeet on the FQ - a future purchase maybe.....? |

Yeah I know. I know one who works for BA and she is alright as for the club, its a bit of a tight squeeze Alcon wise though, its on my radar for sure. They occasionally come up for sale on the MLR but get snapped up really quickly. I have my eyes on a few other bits first, plus my performance friction setup is pretty good that I have right now
