the smaller the wheel the better the accelleration as far as I know. Tyre wise I would recommend Toyo T1r's or Eagle F1's... depends what you want out of a tyre though. There are lots of tyres that are better in good conditions but this time of year you want a good all rounder hence my suggestions above.

For a classic impreza Prodrive used 17s. Tyre wise i use Goodyear F1s although check this http://bbs.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general...r-f1-users.html. Mine are German ones from Bathwick tyres in Poole. |

If you go up wheel size generically you go down tyres size thus keeping the rolling diameter exactly the same. Its much of a muchness, depends on weight of the wheel. Width of tyre plays a difference in traction of course but unless you start messing around with wheel sizes, which will knock the speedo out then you wont get any performance gain as such. Its all about weight at the end of the day, not size. |

Tyres are a personal choice, I stuck with Pirelli P Zero Rosso's 225/45R17 had them on the car when I got it so changed with same. As for the size I think my rims are 17 x 7.5 so you need to get the correct width to go with the depth of the rim. Like Paul said keeping the rolling diameter right to keep the speedo accurate. |
