Well after just over 3 weeks with the civic Ive decided i just cant bloody stand it anymore, Arghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong the civic is a fantastic car, clean, nippy and cheap on fuel. But i cant help thinking that i gave up my Supra for a civic (No offence civic owners). This became even more apparent when i was listening to Ace of Bases "I saw the sign" song and it started to make me twitch thinking about it!

So ive decided to buy another one. I found this one. Mileage is ok but ill be doing the TT conversion sometime this (or next) year so im not too bothered.

Its the facelift 6 speed version so its quite rare and at a very very good price. Its been looked after very well and the bodywork is 100% nicer than my black one!

Whats nice is unlike the one i bought from Wales, there are a few Supra forum members who have contacted me vouching for the car which is great!

loving the wheels mate! nice looking car but the black one was nice to, why not just buy the tt or is that a lot more, than a car plus conversion?

Its abit of a weigh up tbh....

I could...

A: Buy an Auto TT for around 5-6k but even after being in killerferrets i would still prefer manual.

B: Buy a manual TT (6 speed only) but this will cost upwards of 8k for an ok one.

or

C: Buy an Sz-r (Facelift 6 speed manual) and pay Jezz (A supra forum trader) £3000 to do the TT conversion (low mileage warranteed engine with FMIC). Then for 7k ive got a 6 speed manual Supra which is quite sort after still. The benefits are that i dont have to folk out 8k straight away.. i can save up if i want to which would be nice!

The gearbox alone sells for around 2k because theyre are rarely sold seperatly!

What do people think?

This ones had alot of work that i wont have to do such as..

-Headlight HID conversion (professionally from supra forum trader) and lenses reconditioned. (you wont have to lend me the metal polish Chi lol)

- Cambelt changed.

- 6 months tax this month.

- 18" alloys are only 1 month old with new Falken tyres!

- colourcoded bumper strips.

Cat 1 alarm ( Toad) with certificate which is very nice.

The cars selling way too cheap for what it is but thats good for me because at this present time Sz-r's aren't worth alot more than Standard Sz's.
That only seems to be because some people are scared about the price and wonder if somethings wrong with it, when in fact its just that a couple of owners are selling desperately and other owners are following like they'll never make their money back etc!

looks really nice sparky, and id definately say for 7k your best off buying that and doing the conversion. the only factor would be insurance to take into consideration, some will do it the same as an out the factory tt, some wont.

luigi actually got qouted cheaper for a converted car.
[GK-customfield]Lewis[customfield-GK]
Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

Yeh adrian flux and Admiral gave good quotes to me for both N/a and turbo. Lewis's conversion with adrian flux is cheaper than a standard tt's insurance.. weird! :o

As you're off the owners club mate, Just say to him i'm going to give it a little push as I made this mistake last time of not doing that. He will know your not a tyre kicker as you've had one before and off the forum. Plus the NA doesnt come alive till 4400RPM anyway.

It looks a good one to be honest, but you wouldnt get 2k for the box but that doesnt matter as you you're break it. It does look a very nice car and is a facelift model which is always good.

the SZ-R's are lighter then standard SZ and also they come with a LSD, note down the model no when there and I can show you where to check it online to see what the car has.

catch ya soon mate, my car goes in for another respray very soon.

Sorry to say Dave But unless they are really bad (Or i caught them at a really bad angle) they aren't Hid's!

And the Tires aren't Falkens They're proper Hollywoods  ;) Good for some :drive:

Otherwise it's a much better buy than your Black one and looks awesome! I'm jelous as i want a facelift <_< :P

Good old lewis always there to point fingers. Lol :P

He told me Falkens over the phone of which they turned out to be the cheapest crap on the planet! Pure 100% plastic..... Drifts nice though! ;)

Also told me they were updated to Hid but once again theyre not as i checked when i got home and the bulbs are standard. I should really have updated my post but ive been very busy at work!

The cars still way undervalued and almost all the niggles have been sorted except for the heater which should hopefully get sorted before the weekend! Yay!

!

Yeh. I did take along time looking over it and took it out for a longish test drive and so did Luigi. Apart from the heater control that doesnt work i think i got a winner! :)

Nothing wrong with auto TT :D

If you want to make rapid progress in a manual TT it will be like rowing - your hand will never leave the gear shift (unless you like holding nobs all day !).

Although the auto is only a 4 speeder it is very responsive and quick to change (even works well on track - albeit upgraded brakes are a good idea) and you'll pay a whole lot less for one as you've said - have you tried driving one yet ?

So many people (mainly younger folk - no offence) seem to have a mind set against autos - fair enough if its in a weedy A to B machine, but why would Toyota put an auto in such a car (yes it helped to sell more cars in America - but not at the expense of ruining the reputation of such a fine car).

Go on you know it make sense !

Ive been in james. I was very impressed with how smooth the auto box was.
I have nothing against auto's and im sure when im stuck in traffic ill regret buying a manual but i just couldnt drive a car without holding something in my left hand.... (Please don't make suggestions lol) :P
