Just got a thought in my head at the moment Well im a family man, so need something large enough for the kids At the moment I own a primera, its a nice car, just not got enough oomph! So I am tempted, after I sell the Honda as its not big enough, im tempted to get the GT Primera, the reason being, they are a nice drive, look good, and as standard they handle well due to the suspension it uses Anyway, im thinking its ok, but for a 2l they arent exactly what I would call quick, they are only 150bhp roughly So, im tempted on taking on a little project, so after searching the nissan forums, and primera owners club, I found that you can get the pulsar engine and loom, and it drops straight in easily, with only minor mods, and bolts straight onto the primera gearbox Yeah its only going to be a FWD, but the gearbox can easily run up to 250bhp without uprating it, although once the internals are strengthened then you can easily run up to 300bhp, but its finding someone who can do it! But anyway, my main question is, how much roughly would it be to purchase a pulsar engine, ecu, and loom Also, when changing the loom, is it going to be a bitch or is the loom easy to rip out and replace? Its just im looking for a car with more go, and the only ones I find arent big enough inside, small boot, or not jap and i dont really want to leave Jap if I can help it Plus I want something fun and different, and this way I make it "mine" |

That would be an awesome project I must admit. There is a guy with a FWD mitsi on the MLR, not sure what one it is but he has put the 4G63 turbo block in it and still runs FWD as an everyday car. I know Harvey is pretty good when it comes to wiring looms so he might be able to help you out with some information. What a cool project though. Good luck with it I think alot of the information that you require would be on Nissan club forums though, maybe the GTirOC? I expect they could tell you exactly how much the engine + ancilleries would be and how hard a job it would be. |

yeah but that normaly means signing up, and i can already get all the info of the swap, I just dont understand the wiring part at all, its not something I have ever done Im mainly just interested in the prices so i can work out if I can afford the car and engine with loom/ecu Imay not even do it, its just something im mulling over, as I want a faster car, but still sticking to the thought that I need a decent boot and rear seats, as although I got kids, it still wont stop me wanting to keep with the modified scene And this sounds fun! As I already own a 1.6 primera, but I want the 2l gt version as its got slight upgrades to it, nicer interior, and already has the gearbox! |

An SR20 would be about £1000 RB26s go for about £3k off the top of my head. You can get an RB25 for about £1500. |

![]() ![]() This on has the gtir engine in the only thing is that you have to have longer bolt on the gear box and they go straight in the wiring loom is not that bad but you will have to get a fuel pump... They did a 4x4 one but they are rare as, it is not that bad to drive but goes like sh@t off a shovel but does use a lot of fuel. I konw all this because i was thinking of doing it as well but never got around to it.. |

there is only one t4(4x4 gtir running geared p10) left in existance owned by leighzx on npoc finding a pulsar motors hard and expensive why not try looking to japan for a sr20det'd bluebird zx or s13 180sx as they both use a milder version of the pulsar lump (198bhp) the primera gearbox has the same internals as the pulsar and i've known of american g20's taking as much as 500bhp |

the S13 lumps are a bitch to fit as they are designed for RWD cars and aren't the same. For the money wouldn't you be better to get and Evo which has a turbo, handles well and is designed for the power?? they are getting cheap now........ |
