Is it his fault for clipping the other car or should/could the other car do something about it (i don't know trackday etiquette)? |

We were there yesterday but too far away to see the incident clearly, although it looked pretty spectacular even from the Esses and everyone stood with their hearts in their mouths for a short while before the announcement came to say they were both out and ok. Both drivers were very lucky to walk away unhurt. Simon Norris has admitted fault in a post on the MLR and rightly so IMO. He was passing a back marker and in a race, it was his responsibility to pass her safely. Thank god for the debris fencing along the new pit wall - had this happened last year, the result could have been very different! Still, as they say - Motorsport is Dangerous Cheers, Jane |

Apparently Simons only injury was burning his knee when he knocked the coffee over that was made for him during his crash while he was climbing out of the car Everyone was ok though it seems which is good. |

it sucks the he crashed but i dont really think either person was to blam, it was bad luck on both parts. Yes he was passing a back marker (an amateur on first season as denoted by the yellow sticker with black cross) and they would have recieved a blue flag meaning faster drivers coming behind you, at which point you are supposed to hold your racing line so the other driver knows what your doing, and its their responsibility to move around you. The 106 was off racing line trying to let them through, and the guy infront of norris just got away with it as the 106's line crossed the proper racing line, unfortunately simon was a car length further behind which unfortunately led to him wanging the side of the 106. hence why i reckon its pretty much 6 of one half a dozen of the other and a load of bad luck. whats important is everyone walked away. |
