I come from the Mountbatten Arms about 4pm and go towards Canford Heath before going down the dual carriageway to Poole (on the opposite carriage way it's jam packed up towhen it hits the main roundabout to turn off to Canford Heath)and the problem seems to be loads more people turning right to go down Wallisdown Road.

just been to poole and back over the last few days and its full of sunday drivers and slow ass idiots in the fast lanes, then when i think its all over i had 2 old people pull out in front of me and didn't even see me right up there chuff, it must be great to be so oblivious to your surroundings! roll on sky roads thats my great idea straight lines roads with a lower speed limit of 70 max well whatever you like. oh and an age limit of 45

i'm glad i'm off the road for a break.....most drivers in this area seem to be half asleep or on the strongest prescribed Drugs.....and those feckin' Cones were out yesterday...AGAIN in the same place as last time...no workers as usual... <_<

You want to know the real reason?....it's the Traffic lights at every Junction, they're set to cause maximum disruption and delay.... at one set of lights i was kept waiting for over a minute...now that's a longtime to wait.
They need to be set so that they change every 25 secs, that way everyone doesn't have the chance to pick their nose or fiddle with the stereo etc.....keep em on the ball so to speak... :;)

Wallisdown road isn't helped by a set of pedestrian traffic lights (to and from Poole direction),a set of pedestrian lights just off the roundabout going towards Bournemouth on Wallisdown road and,as mentioned in Rossyboys' post, idiot drivers

I agree on the lights.

I noticed that I got stopped at every set onthe way home last night.

It just causes drivers to be even more frustrated...!

I even got up and left at 6:30 the other morning as I wanted to give the car some serious stick, but it wasn't clear by any means :(

Funny you should say that (about getting up early) as i get to the Mountbatten roundabout at about 6.50am but i do notice a lot more cars on the way up (Hamworthy, dual carriageway all the way, arrive at work)

It's about time they started to put walk-bridges across theses roads not Pelican crossings....

On the dual carriageway to Bear Cross they've put a new crossing because of this

Toddler's death 'tragic accident'

Lily KoKo Tanner died in a "sad and tragic accident"
A two-year-old was killed instantly when she was hit by a car as she was being pushed across a dual carriageway in her buggy, an inquest heard.
Lily KoKo Tanner was thrown out of her pushchair in the crash on Ringwood Road, near Bear Cross in Bournemouth, Dorset, on 8 February.

Police said the car that hit the toddler was not speeding and the driver gave a negative alcohol breath test.

Coroner Sheriff Payne recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Giving his verdict at Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset Coroner's Court, Mr Payne said: "This is a sad and tragic accident, and it is an accident in its purest form.

"Nobody was at fault. Sadly it was a combination of situations which together created this and led sadly to nobody being aware of a danger until the last possible moment."

Jeanette Dunnett, who was driving along Ringwood Road in Bear Cross, told the inquest: "The pedestrian wasn't looking in our direction for oncoming traffic."

Lily Tanner died instantly of multiple fractures to her face and skull after being hit by a Ford Fiesta driven by Lee Cross.

He told the inquest: "I saw a woman immediately in front of my car. Then I went for the brakes and tried to steer to the left to try and avoid them."

The inquest heard there was a pedestrian bridge and an unmarked crossing near the crash site.

Sarah Tanner, Lily's mother, who was herself seriously injured and cannot remember the accident, said: "Sometimes I would go that way (over the bridge). Obviously I wish to God I did go that way."

The last paragraph is quite poignant imo

Apparently its likely they will shut the forest road off too!

You you will have to go left at the bypass, or straight on at the Bakers Arms coming from the other way.

Going to be hell.

Its 1 lane for 2 weeks, then totally shut for a good few days too I think.

Ive been working in Ealing (south west London) for the last week the traffic there is a bloody nightmare a 4 hour journey from my house to the place of work and thats only just over 100 miles.
I think we should count ourselves lucky our traffic congestion is nowhere near that scale but i do agree it s getting bad on the southcoast..
