since my rebuild the car was rolling roaded once it was run in and it made 336bhp at the fly, very dissapointing but was to be expected as i had lowered the compression ratio of the engine. now the car has been re-mapped with the lager injectors, and it has been on the rolling road once more.

i was very unhappy with the results the car made it made even less power even with the larger injectors and running more boost on the greddy unit.

engine before rebuild:- 347 bhp @ fly
engine after running in:- 336 bhp @ fly
engine after re-map and larger injectors:- 329 bhp @ fly

engine spec should should see me with :- 391bhp @ fly

boost leaks or a weak actuator are a couple of things i have had suggested to me.

so i still have a few problems to sort out before the car is running at optimum performance.

and to top it all off whilst playing with a friends motor bike i buggered my gear box :( ,

the main fault was 2nd gear syncro, but there is more things damaged in the box and i hope to get photos of them soon

Starlet GT 1.3 forged engine, tdo4 turbo @ 1.25bar = 252bhp = SOLD :(

EDIT: Charade GTxx 993cc three cylinder turbo, 173bhp @ 1.4bar (should hit 200bhp with a larger throttle body, removing stupid high lift cams and a bit more boost)

im still struggling with the gear box sinario :( looks like i will be struggling to even get the car on the road before sunday bbq. very dissapointed :no:

right i have some more photos to add soon of the work i have been doing to my car,

but a quick update is that i have swapped the apex type two intercooler, for the more convetional type one intercooler,

and i have fitted a hks actuator to the turbo,

all was going ok until one night as i gave it some loud pedal, there was a loud crack and the exhuast tone started to sound like a spitfire,

the next day upon investigation i found my manifold had a hole in it and it had cracked round three of the four tubular branches at the turbo mating flange :blink:

that could have been very nasty turbo and entire exhaust system could have gone.

any way quick call to apex and they sent me out a new manifold free of charge. :thumbsup:

i had them send me there type 2 version, this manifold has all the pipes closest to the most equal length for equal back pressure on all cylinders,

it was a bit of a pain to fit by myself and involed a lot of swearing and blood.

next day eventually it fitted into place by cutting of the end of the abs pump bolt.

car was up and running and attended the djcc rr meeting. those of you that came on the saturday saw what the car was running like but it still could not use high boost.

right time for a re map i thinks

well this yeah started crap for me with a call from fraud squad saying my cards had been skimmed, freezing my bank account and 5k being spent on my credit card :wallbang:

with this now sorted,
i book a session of tuning with jez at horsham developments near newbury

and get the car booked into triton to have the hks stock actuating pressure set to 16psi.

big thanks to tony at triton thursday last week percivering with a very hot manifold and tight space adjusting the actuator.

we had to adjust the actuator from .85 to 1.1bar (16psi)several turns and runs later and we found the correct pressure.

the engine ran 345 bhp on stock boost 1.1bar, full boost at 4.5k
then we turned the greddy unit on low boost 1.15bar and the car ran 355bhp with the full boost at 4.2k

we then tried to run the engine on high boost to see what actually happens.
i was very suprised to see that the car made less power and the power just crashed out on the graphs and boost was all over the place.

so with my data in hand i set off to see jez last friday.
