Well, here we are again with probably a long winded but fairly precise explanation to Underseal the wings of your Micra if you've never been there before ;)

Undersealing your Car will pretty much stop the rot where Jap Cars are concerned as they don't Import them with the Gooey black Tar stuff on as standard. It doesn't take long and once it's on you can relax for at least for a couple of years
Plus it looks nice

There are of course 2 ways to do this.

Part 1: The easy way:

1. Half submerge a Tin of Underseal in a Bowl of fairly warm Water or leave the Tin out in the sun for 15 mins
2. Put Handbrake on, Put car in 3rd Gear and chock rear Wheel/s
3. Loosen the Wheel Nuts slightly
4. Jack up Car on one side
5. Take the Wheel off
6. Brush off loose Dirt and Rust from inside of Front Wing
7. Paint on Black gooey stuff (Plastic inner Wing stone guard still in place)
(you can get Underseal at most Car Accessories shops for about £5 for a 1 litre Tin)
8. Put wheel back on
9. Tighten nuts
10. Lower the Car fully to the Ground
....then repeat the same on the other Wing.

So there you go that's the easy way to do it :)

and now.....

Part 2: The round the Houses way....with added Risk assessment :D

1. Put on old clothes and latex Gloves or your favourite Marigolds....this stuff is messy.
2. Half submerge a Tin of Underseal in a Bowl of fairly warm Water or leave the Tin out in the sun for 15 mins
3. Put Handbrake on, Put car in 3rd Gear and chock rear Wheel/s
4. Place 1 Axle stand on Floor on either side of the Car.

5. Put safety glasses on
6. Jack one side of the car up useing a 2 Trolley Jack (i used the Towing point to Jack the Car up) and then place Axle stand under the car on Axle point (see Diagram)
7. Repeat above on opposite side.
8. Take the Wheel off
9. Remove the Mudguard and plastic inner stone Guard. There are 4 Philips screws and 6 plastic bodywork retaining screws. There is 1 plastic retaining screw at the bottom of the Mudguard.
10. Brush away loose dirt and debris

It should now look something like this:

11. Open the Tin of Underseal, then working from top to bottom brush on the Underseal. Go on slap it on thick...... :P

Then it'll look something like this:

Doesn't that look lovely...mmm

That's it! :yay:

Now put everything back together again and the Jobs a goodun! :afro:
