Just bought myself a Roadpilot Micro-Go which tells you ur GPS varified speed because i was concerened my after-market indi-glow dials might be a bit out.
9mph out @60mph!!!! When my speedo says I'm doin 60, my GPS varified speed is actually 51mph. Did wonder why i kept being tail gated a lot

Will bring it to the Bakers Arms meet and u can try it out if you like. I've tried it on a few work vans and Sar's Del Sol and they've all read roughly 10% fast. Its hard to tell in a car as low as the rex because it always feels like you're goin faster than you actually are.
I'd be more inclined to trust the GPS reading.

Most speedos are out especially the faster you go and if you have aftermarket wheels especially if they are bigger than the standard size...

The British Standard for "speed indicating devices for road vehicles" is something like within 3% +/- at a certain speed.

i read that its generally 2mph out on a standard speedo, then when you get over 100mph it does get slight more, maybe 3 or 4 mph out. i have the same problem with my glow dials matt, the dials are all over the place, it can be 2 or 3mph out at about 30 and 70, and its around 4-6mph out at 60, then at 100 its 3mph but 110 its 6. do you find the same thing, the difference is all over the place depending on your speed.

thats true brad but generally for every inch bigger than standard your wheels are it only affects the speedo by 0.5mph.

Andy - Mine just seems to get steadily further out as the speed increases.

Monka - Its on offer in Halfords at the moment £90 reduced from £200.

Think it is a common thing my GPS always tells me my speedo is way of up to 10MPH in places does not start to catch up til near 3 figues, at 95 on speedo GPS says 92. Not yet tested any faster as GPS attached to winter car Peugeot 306 Diesel and does not go much faster
