I've been looking at importing a car myself as they are cheaper from Japan.

But the worry i have is the import prices (How Much etc) and the fact you don't actually get to see or drive the car before you buy it.

Any advice from people who may have done this? or know something about it?

I looked into it but there are so many pitfalls to be honest I decided against it.

Your best bet is to try and get an agent in Japan who can look over the cars for you and maybe help out with the shipping.
Everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

I did it and there are a few things to watch out for. The car that turned up was pretty much as described but it had been accident repaired. It is difficult to find stuff that hasn't had some work.

To be honest, if I was doing it again then I would probably buy from a recognised trader in Japan - someone like Powervehicles or Newera.

Powervehicles get some proper nice stuff in.
