Acura have just released their first Petrol Turbo engine. Its a 2.3, 16v, DOHC i-Vtec turbo engine. Its not a Type R or anything so its not highly tuned but it still kicks out 240hp@6000rpm and gives you 260 ft lbs of torque. It uses a variable flow turbo (VFT) which Honda (Acura) has devised. Its a simple, yet elegant solution for reducing turbo lag. At low rpm, a long valve smoothly narrows the incoming passage and speeds the exhaust flow. This keeps the turbine spinning quickly, so there is plenty of turbo boost at low rpm. As rpm rises, the valve opens, allowing the increased exhaust volume to flow freely through a second intake chamber, keeping turbo boost high. The forced intake air is cooled through a top-mounted intercooler, making the air denser and allowing it to burn more powerfully. The result is the instant and steady power delivery of a much larger engine, while retaining the light weight and cruising efficiency of four cylinders. The engine is currently in the RDX which is like a luxury version of the CRV but lets wait and see if they use it, or at least the variable flow turbo, in any sporty cars in the future! Check it out here... http://www.acura.com/index.aspx?initPath=R...ncetheRDX!d Heres a GIF of whats on the site

Cool looks pretty clever stuff. Porsche have had variable turbine angle of something for a while now doing a similar job, and i think ford turbo diesel engines have similar too. Haventa clue how their system works tho. Honda system looks clever tho like a turbo with 2 waste gates lol
