hi all. My car didnt do as well as i hoped yesterday i have spent a fair bit modding her and i only gained 4hp but torque was up 20ft/Ibs. Triton think i may have a boost problem as my boost hit 1.3bar which is fine but then the boost dropped as the engine revs increased to as little as 0.9bar. Any one have an idea as to what the problem may be. :ph43r:

Thanks

What time did you run?? I got down late and saw the last couple of cars run.

Didn't Andy offer you any advice??

I was down there early about 9.00am and andy at triton said it could be a leak or too much play in the turbo (but i like to get all the opinions i can). It was a great day none the less and i want to say a big thanks to all the guys at triton for running the dyno days. :ph43r:

so it wasnt holdong boost??..is the standard boost solenoid fitted??

I had a similar problem....i bypassed the boost solenoid with an MBC which cured the problem...or you could flush through the solenoid with brake cleaner they get oiley if the engine is ever over filled...

what did it make on the dyno??

Sounds like a vacuum leak or maybe you need a remap. (but I don't know much about boingers!)

if the apexi is controlling the boost then it could be the solenoid or as rob says an air leak...probably worth checking the pipes first as it costs nothing if all ok there then try changing the solenoid they can be had for about £30

Talk to dave_the_b im sure he said he had 1

Yeah, you have to rememebr Apexi is not a drop in unit and needs the car mapping to make it work efficiently. Dunno if you've had it mapped since fitting?? I know on Rotaries it can be fatal to the engine if it's not mapped for the car.
