Had a service today and diagnosis on the boost problem...

Needed a couple of bits on top of the service (3 suspension bushes, gerbox & diff oil change, alternater & power steering belts)

£536 :o

(and they only diagnosed my boost issue.. I ordered the part today.. another £30)

RX7.. the ultimate deep pocket car!

Lol, standard big service on the Evos £400 and thats with out belts etc etc....

What ya complaining about ya big jesse. You got your boost problem sorted.. by the looks of things for £30 which is brilliant news, and you have a top motor as well.

Price we have to pay to have awesome rides unfortunatly but I wouldnt change it for the world B)

Hope your £30 quid part does the job. What was it, a split pipe or solenoid as you suspected?

get to know the guys that work at ur local garage and then get them to do it for cheap, we do it all the time, if some one comes round the back of where we work. lol. merc customers would rather pay £100 than a 1000. lol

@Paul.. Well hopefully it is the air temp sender malfunctioning thats causing the problems.. when they were checking it it went from normal to -36degs... fingers crossed that will sort it!

@monka.. I won't let anyone touch my rotary unless they know what they are doing mate! ;) 99% of people have to be shown where simple things like the dipstick is!

For sure mate.. .it's had the problem for soooo long now..

Strangely it was working perfectly all the way back from Portsmouth in the rain... (scarey 3rd gear wheelspin moment coming onto the spur road!!)

RX Motors (Tim) are great from what I've heard but the downside is that you don't get any kind of reciept for work done and he doesn't have a dyno for working out problems.

RE:Worx has all of the above.

I want my car to keep some kind of value so service history is important IMO.

Standard big service for mine by Mazda is about £500+ .. got it done for £230 at my friendly local garage, though it was a bigger job than he expected! Had the book stamped too :) Normal service would be a lot less than yours though Rob - ouch!

I was talking to a guy last Saturday who owns the red RX7 on 19s in Weymouth. He has his done at a Rotary specialist in Blandford. He's had his from new and they've always done it as far as I know. He has it serviced every 2500 miles - with 400+ bhp, he'd need to  I guess they do his 10.1sec drag FD too!

As I said, Tim at RX Motors is known to be very good and if he had the paperwork side of things sorted I would use him as it's closer to home!

Hoping to be first privateer into the 10"s,the car will definately be able to run those sort of times, but it will all depend on driver skill, fluffed gearchanges etc,if by the end of the year i have only done 11"S then you know i"m a sh*t driver :D

Hasn't Blitzboy got into the tens??

Edit: Just checked, I think he's only just into 11's.

Usually take mine to Tim especially for engine work. Most other machanics just stand there scrathcin thier heads lol. He always gives me a written reciept. Not the best lookin place, just a huge barn with loads of broken rex's but he knows his stuff and is pretty cheap. But if u want a nice clean workshop and waiting room then its not for u. U get what u pay for i guess.
