This is one of my fave websites (i don't always agree with attitude and comments posted) but there are some people who really do need to stop modifying.
I present an example link:

http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopi...=15777&start=30

(There is a lot of foul language on the site so DON'T read if you are easily offended)

Danni and I were watching a program friday night and a lad on there had spend around 25k on his corsa... he had no job or any real means of paying it off, but he was chuffed as it appeared in some wannabee rappers music video...

25k for a corsa!!!

I can see that people buy a car they can afford (or has free insurance for 3years) and they want to make it look individual but £25k is just retarded.
The Calibra is/was the most aerodynamic coupe ever made and all it takes is moron who wants it to individual to make it look like that honestly does the person who drives that thinks it looks good.

Agreed, there is nothing wrong with trying to make something individual, or starting off with something small.. its where we all began at some stage after all, but I think you have to draw the line at some stage, but then saying that when you get bigger toys the goal posts get bigger as well... i mean look at some of these high power skylines/rx7's/evos/scoobs etc....

I guess modding is a money pit whether you have a corsa or a liner.

There are some great abominations on that website though B)

I started with 205 gtis and saw there was a lot you could do to them but realised that for the money i could spend on them i could buy a nice 4 saloon with a bit of oomph.
The problem with the barryboys the mods they are doing are awful imo.
Badboy bonnets where they block off half their headlights and in extreme cases the airflow to the radiator.

Best example is the placing of scooby/GTIr bonnet vents on cars with no intercooler 1 guy on barryboys had it on a Laguna and said it was to keep the exhaust manifold cool LMAO

I have seen a scooby vent on a cavalier where the owner drilled a couple of holes through the bonnet, which really wouldnt have cooled anything...

The best bit was his fixing mechanism, which was some kind of putty, which unfortunatley disolved when it rained, leaving the vent to falloff onto the floor.

My veiw is anything that has the cars name in front should stay on said vehicle...

examples;

Lexus lights,
Evo bonnet vents
Scooby vents
Lambo doors

and so on so forth.

Agreed! They are complete wankers!

They came onto my forum and started having a go at us and threatening to come and 'do' our cars over!

But yet none of them will do anything! They're as bad as Chavs!

They tend slag off cars they have no knowledge of either. They got a pic of a Mazda Lantis TypeR (323F JDM import) and slagged off the 'aftermarket' body kit, saying it was over the top etc. What they didn't realise was that it's a factory/dealer fit Mazdaspeed kit fitted from new <_<

We had to pretty much ban the mention of barryboys at one point on the Club 323F forum because it caused so much bad feeling

So sad, going round putting leaflets on windscreens slagging of other people's cars and taking pictures of them to post on the forum so that other people can slag them off too. Makes you wonder

There are a few on there that know cars and have modified both under the bonnet and the exterior though.

simple way to put an end to it is get enough peoples cars on there and make complaints about the illegal use of photos of their cars without permission, they'll be closed down straight away, problem solved. either that or see how they like it by slagging off their cars

I go on there occasionally for a bit of a laugh. There are some right tits on there.

Andy, you don't need owners consent to display photos of cars or numberplates unfortunately.

yup it was a while ago, one of the funniest things ever, the hacker changed all their usernames to rude ones and then poster their personal details all over the place. the best bit was a lot of info on the person who started the site and goes under a fake name.

Everyone on taht site is a bunch od sad mondeo driving loosers
