I thought one was in Bmouth as well. But they are for safety you know which is why they hide them, so that people brake heavy at the last minute as this is very very safe. |

I got 16 too. Would have been 17 tho, i thought the first one was a trick question and the van was too obvious lol Yeah ive seen that cooper dean one a few times when emma used to live at metrick park when i would use the 338. There was also one that looked like the branksome road, about half way through |

I got 15 out of 19 too, and I must admit a couple were guessed as well. The real point is though, it really does show you how devious and out of control these "unsafety camera" people are. And also in many cases, acting illegally. I saw a tripod one in Southbourne once (I was walking, fortunately), it was in a street where it was black rubbish bag collection day, and the operatives had actually piled black bags around it so that only the camera was visible, not the legs at all. The van was parked at least 20 yards down a side street. I walked down and said that I was quite sure what they were doing was illegal, and was told to go away and mind my own business. I wish I'd had a camera myself............... |

I've said before that this is the best mass produced engine of all time, and I'll say it again now. J.C. (But, to be honest, in 1997!) | |

The worst camera round the bournemouth area is the one when coming from the asda roundabout going towards Cooper Dean and its hidden behind numerous posts and trees and finally just over the brow of a dip and you can't see the markings on the road cos its just over the brow w@nkers |

Yes, I actually got done by that one about 3 years ago, and soon after a picture of it appeared in the Daily Mail illustrating questionable siting of speed cameras around the country, however, nothing has ever been done about it. Its almost right up against the post behind it, isn't it? |

Yep its hidden behind so many obstructions its a joke (just not a funny one). The authorities don't seem to be interested in catching people with no tax/insurance. |

there is a legal requirement when using the mobile cameras like laser guns or the cameras mounted in vans that they have to be clearly visible from a certain distance (can't remember the exact distance) and it has to be on an open/straight enough road so it is seen, and only if the operater suspects you are speeding in his own opinion does he then have the right to use the camera to confirm his suspicion. i found all this out from a website giving all the legal info abouts the uses etc of mobile cameras which was then later confirmed when used to avoid a ticket, so if it is a requirement for mobile ones why not for fixed cameras, very rarely are they clear to see, they are often hidden by trees or even sneakily positioned just after a sign in 1 case so you cannot see it until your level with the sign. on the same site there is even a statistic carried out early last year showing that the more speed cameras that are put up the more accidents occur in these areas, yet the police still think its a good idea to help make the area more safe? rubbish, its just a way of getting more money out of motorists. |

According to the road map produced by the AA which show the scameras int he 12square miles (from Upton to Christchurch east to west and Poole to Ringwood south to north) there are 42 speed cameras. |

that sounds about right, in the summer last year we found out that there was 38 speed cameras in dorset alone, yet only 11 of them actually worked, but it wasn't always the same 11, they rotated it so only 11 were working but it varied week to week, thats good news in a way for us motorists but bad in another as you never know which work and which don't. |

I've heard that the scamera vans don't have to be visible if they can get access to private property e.g. someone allows them to use a private road. |

i doubt thats true luigi, if its a legal requirement for them to be visible and in a good enough location then i doubt parking on a private drive would mean they dont have to follow it, then again the police view everything as 1 rule for them and another for civilians, classic examples like they can get away with speeding or jumping through red lights because of the car they are in. |
