General Information Full Name: Koriand'r Codename or Alias: Starfire Gender: Female Age: Appears to be about 16 Birthdate: On the earth calendar, June 10 Place Of Birth: The Planet Tamaran Occupation/Status: Was a princess of Tamaran, but now she's just on the run Alignment: Neutral, at the moment (in the future, Hero) Factions: None at the moment (in the future, the Teen Titans) Canon Or Original?: Canon Powers/Abilities: Starfire can absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it to energy for flight. She can also use that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts", which she usually releases from her hands, but also it can be released from her eyes in an even more powerful blast. In addition, she has superhuman strength, and is capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person. Weapons/Items: none Appearance Visual Appearance: ![]() ((Just a quick note - Though I'm using the Cartoon Network's Starfire as a visual, her history is based of the original DC comic version. I just think this is a better picture, lol.)) Physical Appearance: Despite being an alien, almost anyone could mistake Starfire for being a human. Her hair is deep red in color, and fairly straight. It falls to her lower back, with short bangs in front. Her eyes are normally a dark, emerald green, but they glow more lime-green when her powers are activated. She's on the taller side, reaching a little over 5'7", but her frame is overall slim. Her skin is also a little more tanned. Clothing and Armor: Her clothes are somewhat unique, but also in a style that's passable in the human world (especially in this time period). Starfire wears a short purple skirt with a silver belt, with a matching purple top that's sleeveless, and shows her mid-drift. On her arms, she has an armbands on both her biceps, and arm guards that cover her elbow to her palm, with green stones that rest on the top of her hand. To top it off, she wears purple, thigh-high boots that are tight, but flexible. She has thin, metal armor that she can wear over her skin, but on a normal basis she doesn't feel the need to wear it. Personality Starfire has a bit of a range when it comes to her personality. On Tamara, since she was a princess, she needed to show a lot of maturity and poise. She was always kind and respectful, so she could make a good impression for her people. Underneath it all, though, she is a lot more energetic and playful. She's the type to always see that glass as half-ful, and can almost be naïve at times, but don't mistake it for stupidity. Starfire can be very sincere and intuitive when she wants to be. However, as a new inhabitant of earth, most of her bright personality has been locked away, at least for the moment. She was deeply hurt by her sister's betrayal, and the pain of being exiled has made her more harsh. Earth, so far, seems alright, but she's rather wary and distrusting . She know she needs to be careful now if there is any hope of her being able to help in the future. Likes: Flying Warm Weather Cooking food Tamaran Dislikes: Feeling trapped Her sister's betrayal Being alone Fears: Never being able to return home Not being accepted Bad Habits: Suddenly kissing boys in order to learn their language Sexual Orientation: Straight Character's History Siblings: Komand'r (aka Blackfire) - Mother: Deceased Father: Deceased Other Family: History: Koriand'r was born a princess of the planet Tamaran. Despite having an older sister name Komand'r (also known as Blackfire), she was first in line to rule the planet as Queen. Komand'r suffered an illness as a child, and it left her unable to harness solar energy in order to fly. Without this ability, she was deemed ineligible fore the throne. Because of this, Komand'r began to loathe her younger sister, and tried to ruin her every chance she could, though the sentiments weren't retaliated by Koriand'r. In her opinion, no matter what, they were still family, and she wouldn't stoop to such a level. This rivalry continued and intensified when the siblings were sent for warrior training with the Warlords of Okaara, when Koriand'r was about 13 by human standards. Things took a turn for the worst during a sparring exercise in which Komand'r attempted to kill her sister. As a result, Komand'r was expelled from the training, and the Tamaran government also didn't allow her to return home. Komand'r left, but swore she would get revenge. About a year passed, and as Koriand'r excelled as a person and a princess, she truly believe that all was good. However, she could never completely forget about her sister's promise. Komand'r wasn't one to go back back on a threat like that, and eventually it did come true. Komand'r betrayed her planet by giving detailed information about Tamaran's defenses to their enemies, the Citadel. The Citadel conquered Tamaran with ease, and the surrender conditions included the enslavement of Koriand'r who was never permitted to return, since that would mean the Citadel would devastate the planet for abrogating the treaty. Koriand'r's older sister made the most of her sibling's bondage with years of horrific servitude and torture. Finally, even Koriand'r reached her breaking point. She killed one of her captors in defiance, and Komand'r decided to execute her as punishment. Before that could take place, though, the sisters were attacked and captured by the Psions. The Psions were a group of sadistic alien scientists, who performed a deadly experiment on both sisters to see how much energy their Tamaranean bodies could absorb before exploding from the overload. During the procedure, Komand'r's forces attacked the Psion ship to retrieve her. While the Psions were distracted, Koriand'r broke free using her starbolts, which were a result of the experimentation. She had a chance to flee by herself, but some amount of compassion, or hope, for her sister remained within her. She decided to free Komand'r, who was still stuck absorbing energy from the Psion's machien. However her sister was far from grateful. She didn't not like the idea one bit of being indebted in any way to Koriand'r. Komand'r struck her sister down with the same, but more intense, power that she had gained from the experiments, and dragged Koriand'r back to the Citadel and planned to continue with her little sister's execution that had been interrupted. Desperate, and realizing that she could not change her sister's mind now, Koriand'r escaped by seducing one of the guards and stole a spacecraft to flee to the nearest planet, Earth. Now, she just needs to find a way to pass the time for now, while trying to figure out if there is anyway she can stop her sister once and for all, and try to free Tamaran. Role Play Sample: "Rolvak," Starfire said, muttering the Tamranean curse under her breath. She knew if the elders could hear her now they would be less than pleased, but at the moment she was still a bit busy cursing her bad luck. Earth's terrain was unfamiliar to her...she hadn't seen she was landing on such an uneven path before it was too late, and now the her small spacecraft was paying the price. It couldn't have been helped though. She needed to land as quickly as possible, to avoid being picked up by whatever scanners the Citadel might have sent after her. Considering how the left wing of her ship was currently smoking, she could only hope that she had avoided being detected, because leaving would not be so easy now. The young girl gave only a small sigh, though the enormity of just what had happened was starting to sink in again. Her planet was virtually gone...taken over by their worst enemy, and the only blood relative she had left. And despite how much she wanted to help her people, she was currently all alone, on a planet she knew nothing about. Well, that wasn't completely true...she had caught one name on the map before her GPS system had shut down. "New...Jer...Sey," she remembered slowly, the syllables rolling off her tongue oddly. Starfire's green eyes turned towards an area where she saw tall structures, and many lights. It was a good place as any to start...as long as there was people, she could at least pick up the language. She cast one last forlorn look at the smoking ship, silently apologizing to the vessel for her poor piloting skills, before taking off into the air by herself.
