General information Name: Patrick O’Conner (in life) Daidora Esquara (Chosen name) Name Meaning: He liked the way his new name sounded Date of Birth: November the 4th…but how can Patrick remember this? Hell…he doesn’t even recall the day he gained sentience. Time has no meaning in the eternal darkness of Hueco Mundo Age: Somewhere around three centuries if he had to guess…but how can anyone record time when the trees are brittle crystal and tallies melt into the nothingness of sand? Visual age: 19 The dominant personality emerging remembered his face…and the age in which he died. Though time has passed, Daidora retains a youthful appearance…perhaps he ages with grace. Sex: Male Origin: Ireland Physical Information Visual Appearance: Daidora Esquara General Appearance: Daidora stands at a 5’11 with narrow shoulders and a lithe frame. His crimson hair is usually flecked with bits of white mask and in disarray due to lack of care to general appearance. His hair is cut haphazardly, short in the front with different length locks of red hair falling to brush his shoulders. Not necessarily heavily muscled, Daidora is more a honed and streamlined individual. His mask taking the form of both curving goat horns twisting in contoured white arcs from the side of his skull. The remainder of his broken mask drops down to jaggedly cover part of his right face including one eye. Both eyes are a wide and dull red, like the burning eye of the sun as it sets. A wide smile is never far from his thin lips, curving up gracefully in wonder and good will. Clothing and Armour: Daidora wears the tattered remnants of the clothes he took from Nnoitora’s corpse which now consist of a mostly torn vest and pants so torn that most of the material hangs behind him, dragging in the sand. Height: 5’11 Weight: 168 Arrancar Information Zanpakuto Name: Tempestua Zanpakuto Appearance: His swords consists of two curved cloudy blades with serrated edges. The swords themselves are only three-fourths the lengths of a full katana, short enough to allow quicker execution of maneuvers without being too small to cause much damage. The handles and sheaths are of bleached and polished bone. Release Phrase: “Puedas ver la tempestua” ((Can you see the storm?)) Release Method: Daidora draws his blades and grates the serrated edges against his horns, drawing spark and finishes by bringing the pommels together in a metallic clang echoing like Thunder. Release appearance Released Form Release Abilities: Relampago- Lighting: This ability factors in through three defining forms. a.When Daidora forms a Cero in his released state, the spiritual particles are stimulated excessively, causing an unstable cero manifestation. As such, the Relampago Cero takes the form of lime green lightning and while immensely more powerful and faster than a regular Cero, has vastly insuperior aim…attesting to the fact Daidora needs more practice harnessing his powers. This ability is more like to miss then hit…unless an opponent has a blade drawn. b.Relampago del cuerpo- Lighting of the body essentially. Daidora’s body conducts the wild and unpredictable reiatsu his released form emits by containing it within the body, racing across the skin. Those who strike Daidora are in turn damaged by the defense making up for Daidora’s poor Hierro in released state…The Relampago del cuerpo. Another function of this ability is to heighten the reflexes and abilities of Daidora. His eyes see clearly, following the path of Sonido and reacting to the sudden movements. Incidentally, the ability extends to his attacks as well, charging his fists with shocking energy and even manifesting his final ability and apex of Bala mastery. c.Ultimo Bala- Ultimate Bala essentially. Combining the first two abilities with doble cero creates an Ultimo Bala attack. The attack is difficult to achieve and taxing on the user, as it essentially pairs cero and Bala in an unstable fusion. Ultimo Bala is achieved when two ceros are charged but focused and contained within the fist. Weaving with the natural Relampago del cuerpo, each blow from an Ultimo Bala (Daidora’s ultimate attack one might say) greatly surpasses a normal cero and ranks just beneath a Gran Rey cero…the destructive ability very real. Unfortunately, this attack can only be used once in combat due to the immense exhaustion and strain upon the body. Forcing it another time would put Daidora’s life in immense danger and compromise the focus of the attack, causing a backlash on Daidora rather than a decisive burst on the enemy. Trueno- Literally translating to Thunder. The reason Daidora’s Hierro does not increase in power when he releases is that the entirety of his improved Hierro takes the form of his powerful white tail. This tail serves as both defensive and offensive techniques, smashing and bashing with rumbling blows reminiscent of the sound of thunder. The Relampago del Cuerpo is still active on this tail however and causes flashes of sparking reiatsu and the rare strand of errant and chaotic reiatsu to spike off it and bury into the nearest object. Also, physical strength and natural speed increases on par with a released form…with far more emphasis on speed. Viento de la Tempestua- The Viento ability is increased by the release, effectively doubling the speed used in flashes of lime green reiatsu representing Daidora. His legs now capable of reaching immense speeds continue the ability of Viento to the fullest capability, still not at the level of Sonido, but somehow greater than the speed in the ability to sustain the level and react instantly to changes in opponent tactics. Relampago Bala: An ability above the power of a Gran Rey Bala, Bala’s mixed with the chaotic spirit particles Daidora stimulates. Hollow Powers: Cero- His cero color is a lime green. One can gain insight as to when Daidora is charging a Cero by the fact his horns acquire a green glow as the spirit particles are collected. Doble Cero- Double Cero. Unlike Nel’s ability to absorb a cero and send one back with hers layering over it, Daidora can charge two Ceros from his hands. It takes twice as long obviously, but the ability plays into his released form. Gran Rey Bala- by bloodying his own fists, his Bala can grow in strength exponentially, each blow nearly rivaling the power of a Cero…but falling just a bit short. This ability is the ultimate of his unreleased form and thus requires a great taxing energy on his body. In addition, the energy charging his fists causes these blows to be a little slower than most Balas as the energy is greater…it’s a small difference, but it can be the difference between a dodge and a hit. Bala de la espada- Bala of the blade. The swords are an extension of Daidora, and thus he can charge the explosive power of Bala into his own blades, combining to a far more deadly attack. Pesquisa- Ability to sense spiritual pressure manifests to him as noise…as the ringing of different toned bells Sonido- Daidora is capable of Sonido…but usually doesn’t use it. Hierro- Hierro or ‘iron skin’ is the natural armor of the arrancar. One might say Daidora’s Hierro is of an average quality, deterring all released shikai but those of lieutenants and captain class shinigami. Innocence- This is the unique ability of Daidora to dampen his spiritual pressure to the level of a common adjuchas hollow unconsciously. As spiritual pressure also measures intent to battles, the innocent and often times unhostile intentions of Daidora render many to see him as far weaker then he really is. He is entirely unaware of the ability (idiot) and can’t regulate it. Incidentally, his defenses and abilities are lowered while this ability is in effect. Not to the level of an adjuchas…but a few levels beneath his true capability in an unreleased state. This ability does not extend to his Released form. Viento- Literally translating to ‘wind’ Viento is a speed both greater and lesser then Sonido. By making each step only a few inches from each other and increasing the pacing to a near supersonic speed, a sort of fluid velocity can be produced. While Sonido is quick leaps…nearly teleportation to other locations, Viento can be seen to sharp eyes as the body almost flowing through air like water…As one can see a bullet approach their head but may not be able to dodge in time…so is the nature of Viento speed. Opponents can most often see Daidora coming…but it is hard to force a body to react fast enough to completely block or parry him. In addition, this speed can be maintained almost indefinitely, factoring in sudden changes in direction as a means of an effective dodging defense as well as a difficult maneuver to counter in attack. It is literally the speed seen and yet unseen, not advancing to the level of Sonido, but remaining just short to factor in the ability of dodging and hairpin turn tactics. As one can guess however, this completely negates the feet from being able to attack…and the speed must be started again each time a jump is performed or both feet leave the ground. Other information Fighting Level: Grand Master Fighting Style: Daidora bases his strategy around his superior grasp of speed and multi-blows. In his sealed form, he uses controlled and powerful footwork to make instant turns, leaps, or changes in direction in order to avoid the blade of his opponent. In addition, the use of his several Bala techniques mix in furious assault with quick and decisive retreat. Viento increases his movement ability with its supersonic half-step consecutive movements built on the foundation of using speed an opponent can see and yet not block to his utter advantage. By no means is Viento an unavoidable attack, but opponents unused to seeing the ability are taken back by its strange and fluid movement patterns and usually hard pressed to quickly adapt. Sonido is an effective defense, but Sonido attacks never seem to work as Viento allows for sudden direction change as well as the body’s full range of movement from ducking down to standing tall. Defensive maneuvers involve blocks with his forearm or sweeping movements of his powerful arms to turn away attacks coupled with quick dodges and sudden changes to tactics. Daidora is more an offensive fighter then defensive, his speed functioning as a shield, but mainly bent to offensive capabilities. As for his hands in combat, Daidora mostly makes use of Bala for an almost boxing type style that derives a myriad of punches, chops, and jabs from several martial arts styles. His feet are useless to him in combat as they are most often used for the sake of Viento and so his entire combat prowess is focused in his hands. His two blade style swordsmanship uses the adaptability and speed of his shorter blades to slash and cut in a circular pattern, using Viento to circle his opponent and slice as he goes. Let it be known that Gran Rey Bala cannot be used when his swords are drawn. But Bala de la Espada can’t be used unless his swords are drawn…an interesting play on the tactics he may desire depending on the opponent. If forced to release, the need for swordplay vanishes entirely. From then on out it’s vicious attack paired with rampaging reiatsu and astounding speed via Viento de la Tempestua. Speed and tactile direction change is emphasized at this stage as Hierro has not been increased for the majority of his body. His powerful and well-defended tail can only parry to a certain extent and the fact it is a tail limits its modes of attacks and defense. Defensively, the arrancar is quick to leave standstills or pressing attacks against him, disengaging in order to circle or reassess another angle of offense. His sweeping hand movements and forearm and elbow blocks are still an intrinsic part of defense, despite the change in appearance. Daidora relies entirely on his strange adaptable speed to avoid attacks while executing relentless and pressing offense built to overwhelm the opponent. Those attacks he suffers while fighting in close quarters is in turn brought back on the attacker due to the Relampago del cuerpo ability and in extreme cases, Ultima Bala can be used to utterly crush the obstacle in his way at the risk of fighting with limited strength for the remainder of the fight. Mainly his strategy is to use the Relampago Bala to its fullest extent and beat through a target’s endurance. Items: He collects the masks of those he kills Personality: Daidora is not bloodthirsty. Daidora is not violent. Daidora has the curious tendencies of a child tempered with the intelligence of an immensely older being. It is never his intention to kill or maim, he fights merely for the self preservation of his own life, to feed, or if bidden to by someone he counts a friend. Even then, he treats battle more like a game then a life or death situation. His search for the meaning of his existence…his former identity has left him with a slowly growing compassion for the hollows, humans, and shinigami. It seems so many are not in control of their fate. Hollows cannot help but feed on souls and soul reapers cannot help but protect such souls by slaying Hollow. The wheel of existence turns flawlessly, leaving little room for change. But it is the impossible change Daidora seeks. Peace between soul reapers and hollows? Is it a possibility? If menos, adjuchas, and other hollows subsist on hollows to grow…can they not be simply left alone? On the same hand however, Daidora has seen the results of a broken mask. Shinigami…Hollow…everyone has a human face beneath their respectful masks. Can communication not take place between them? Daidora merely searches for purpose…for friends…for companionship not centered on surpassing him or consuming him or attacking him. A peaceful existence…is it too much to ask for? Perhaps. But Daidora will turn his blade against those threatening his mission…and give his blade to those who would further it. Quiet, thoughtful, curious, and almost child-like both in and out of battle, Daidora certainly does not fit the average mold of hollows…perhaps it is the strong morals and values shining through of the dominant personality…perhaps it is fate…or perhaps it means nothing at all. To every question Daidora raises…there are but more questions…never an answer…and never a smile. History: Patrick O’Conner was born to poor Potato farmers in Ireland just before the Potato famine. He grew up strict Roman Catholic and always managed to keep a smile despite the starved nature of his family and himself. When the famine came…his family’s field was one of the first to twist and die, leaving them with a future of starvation and only a small bit of money to make their escape to America. Three tickets…there was only enough for three. Patrick’s family held 4 So on a damp morning, a determined Patrick slipped out of his house before the sun had time to kiss the earth with light. He traveled for hours, making his way to the cliff overlooking the sea. Patrick couldn’t fathom leaving any of his beloved family behind…and knew his father would likely insist on staying in Ireland…a sentence to die. 15 years to stand at the edge…two steps to fall. He took the two steps…a life for a life…Hell was worth the life of his father. He could not remember life as a Hollow…how he became one…what terrors he committed. He only knew a deep curiosity as he awoke as an adjuchas…a wonder of the world and of those within it. Centuries he spent wandering the same desert, trapped in a picture without borders or frame. He ate all he came on, only knowing hunger and not the faces of those he consumed. They were animals to him…not people…not faces. He tore off his mask to remember a purpose…an attempt to fit in with the mortals outside. The pain following was months of agony and confusion…wandering crazed in a frenzy of hunger…he looked for his mask after…but the sands swallow all. He knew not of power, his Pesquisa manifesting to him as the sound of bells. He followed the sound of louder (stronger) powers…drawn to their notes…the complexity of beauty. Those he came upon he battled…no rule in Hueco Mundo but persistence of the strongest…eat or be eaten…Darwinian Hell. But as time grew on he began to ask questions in the midst of combat, sacrificing position and advantage for what he hoped would be answers. The powerful interest of who someone was became his point of existence…reprieve from the boredom of white sand and black sky. He fancied himself the philosopher, wrestling with grand concepts such as life and death…existence as a hollow and the nature of souls. Most Vasto Lorde and Adjuschas had no interest in the theoretical ramblings of the red haired stranger…only knowing a driving hunger to preserve their existence…to consume Daidora. The arrancar fought for his survival, hoping to come upon an entity which could understand and communicate with him. None were so cruel and heartless as the hollows…but could good survive in a world of amorality? But he came upon the wrong bells…Nnoitorra and Neliel…and was wounded to the point of near death…left bleeding. An act of mercy from the green haired Neliel. He searched for her again…her bells…her music…and the brass of Nnoitorra…drawn in curiosity to the orchestrator his injuries. He found Nnoitorra…his body cold and inert…and shed tears for the first time in centuries, grieving for an enemy who had sliced him apart in glee. He only knew his name…now he would know nothing more. Still he searches for Neliel…or for the sound of booming bells…danger means little…in fact the greater the sound…the more drawn he is. He dreams to meet Shinigami…ask them the difference between him and they…could they be friends? Would they be eaten? Or would someone ask HIS name…his life…his meaning. Other Notes: Daidora fights only to survive. He is not cruel or monstrous as are most other hollows, but seems drawn by a different sort of purpose to draw out his life. One could say he’s a moral immoral…he can’t fathom that killing is wrong though the human part of his nature strives for understanding. Fatal blows may turn out to be merely aggravated damage…as he misses by a fraction. And one can be guaranteed he’ll never pull a cheap move. He’s upfront and honest…and finds no reason to be otherwise. Sample RP: Dusky eyes opened to greet the night…dark night…long night…eternal night of Las Noches and blinked at the expansive shadow stretched across the sky. Open and closed…it made no difference. Why did the Hollows stay in such a morbid place? Did no one remember the sun, the warming rays of purest amber lancing from the heavens to banish and dispel the evils of darkness? Did no one care? A sigh Probably not Rising from his bed of fine white sand, Daidora dusted the luminescent grains from his tattered apparel, sneezing as a few errant motes snuck into his nostril. How long had he slept? Did it matter? The nights of Hueco Mundo were unbroken by day…in this world of shadows and heartless spirits, the sun was an unwelcome invader. Still…at least it lent something to the imagination. Curiously, the arrancar glanced behind him…and then forward. Which direction had he come from? Certainly it made no difference, but as of late Daidora had decided he would travel from one end of Hueco Mundo to the other…if there even was an end. Only one way to find out though eh? Daidora stopped, his smile tapering down toward a frown as truth slowly seeped into the illusion of simple joy. As of late…he’d been talking to himself. Whether in or out of his head was meaningless…he couldn’t tell any longer. He hadn’t spoken to another sentient creature in what seemed like centuries…and he’d forgotten the sound of his own voice. The bells never called to him anymore, only the faint tremble of a weak hollow every now and then broke the monotonous silence of his singular existence. Loneliness closed its icy claws over a heart he didn’t have. When faced with the utter oblivion of white sands and colorless sky, what purpose was there to continue? Part of him wished a powerful opponent to end him for the sake of conversation…for the sake of something. He dared not go to the mortal world…no…his stomach snarled its anger and ordered appeasement. Daidora had not the willpower to deny it in such a spiritually enriched world…but ever since his mask had fallen from his face he hadn’t been able to eat those who lived with what he gained. A face An identity A name. Setting his eyes to a contrasting horizon, Daidora walked. His direction was null, his progress was null…whether he was moving forward or backward was lost in the meaningless banality of Hueco Mundo’s unchanging landscape. But perhaps…just maybe…over that next dune he would hear the sound of bells once more…and they would draw him to another like him…and they would speak until eternity had grown old with dust, croaking on its immeasurable age. It was this simple wish which put each foot ahead of the other. It was that simple desire which kept his eyes focused ahead…to whichever direction was forward. He was not alone…Hueco Mundo was large…but surely not infinite…and he had met others like him once. Chances were he would again at some point in time. And a smile found its way back to his face…a light in the darkness. Edited by Jack_shade, Feb 16 2009, 02:36 AM.

By the way...this is done. o.o I can expand on why he's a grand master in the fighting style if desired. If it is a question of further explanation I assure you I can attempt further work...I'm trying to bank here on a rival/friend of sorts to Dyo. Of course, given that Dyo currently holds the Hougyoku (However the hell you spell it) Daidora's power levels will remain obviously beneath his. Rather then make me change the level of fighting...urge me instead to be more clear on HOW he fights in this way so that he may be approved. I assure you no task of writing is too great...within reason.
