Place Of Birth:Vensk V
Occupation/Status: Dark Apostle Of the Word Bearers Legion
Alignment: Chaos

Skills/Abilities abilities; Daemonic aura, Daemonic resilience, both gained as gifts from the Dark Gods when he ascended to the rank of Dark Apostle, Trained skills; Silver tongue, Jarulek is an expert and lying, deceiving, and convincing, commanding presence, Jarulek has, through rank, and practice, made his posture straighter, his walk more graceful, and overall gained a very commanding presence, holding this same posture and graceful stride on the battlefield

Appearance

Visual Appearance: Posted Image

Physical Appearance:
7'1, eyes; unknown, likely brown, hair; unknown, almost certainly bald. Light gray skin, covered in lines of text, every word from the books of chaos, and the prophecy of Jarulek, written only on his skin

Clothing and Armor:
In addition to his normal power armor (See above) Jarulek carries around a variety of medallions, no one, doubtfully even Jarulek knows what they are for, some are ornate, and in the imperial style, while still others are in the style of Chaos itself, the Eight points with a skull in the center and spikes on each end, Some believe that these are taken from fallen foes, that theory is what I'm going to use.

General Personality: Jarulek is a cunning, deceiving man, with a tongue of silver, and breath that smells of truth. He leads through his psychic might, and charm. His smooth and pleasant sounding voice can very easily convince you of just about anything.

Character's History (Since this is pre-Dark Apostle book events this will be tricky)
Spanning an unknown period of time,
Jarulek joins the space marines. Something occurs causing him to turn to chaos, one of those who is just "Called by Chaos". Jarulek finds his way into the Word Bearers legion, somewhere along the line, through a series of mysterious events forgotten by Jarulek, and know by non other than Lorgar and Tzeentch. Jarulek discovers the prophecy of Jarulek written on his skin, possibly etched there by the power of Lorgar himself during or after thier meeting
"As Sanguine Orb waxes strong and Pillar of Clamour rises high,
The peal of nether shakes,
And great wyrms of below wreak the earth
With flame and gaseous exhalation.
Roar of Titans will smite the mountains and they
shall tumble.
Depths of Onyx shall engulf the lands, and then
exposed shall lay
The Undercroft,
Death and Mastery.

The door shall be opened to he pure of faith
Into darkness two descend,
Apostate and he who would be,
Into madness and confusion descend,
Restless dead and creatures old,
The undying One to face.

Master of the cog will come in chains and Tattered
robes,
to become enslaved,
To unleash the orb of night and Breaking dawn.

One shall fall, he unmarked by
godly touch,
His fate to remain, trapped eternal,
And for one to flee with prize in hand,
Gatemaster,
He who bears Lorgar's touch"

Jarulek carries out the orders given by Lorgar,(Found it) Before Jarulek attained the mantle of Dark Apostle he was a war captain for the legion. Under orders from Lorgar himself, he and two thousand warrior brothers were dispatched from the Chairak Nebula wars to bring the world of Fortrea Quintus into compliance.

After making landings across the planet Jarulek set about converting the oppressed citizens of Fortrea to the worship of the god Emperor. Using these new found holy warriors a mass attack was launched upon the Palace of Light, the seat of Fortrea Quintus rulers. Millions of the faithful were gunned down by the well equipped warriors holding the palace, but eventually, victory was on the side of the Word Bearers. During and after this time Jarulek works his way higher up the ranks, eventually working his way into the position of Dark Apostle. (Thats the exact information I found on his orders from Lorgar, tell me if It is out of place in the history, etc.)

Role Play Sample:
"Kol Badar, calm yourself," Jarulek said in his silky smooth voice, "The battle ahead is of no matter, fool worshipers of the Emperor, they shall learn of the error in their ways soon enough,"
"Yes, but still, there will be hundreds of thousands, tanks, sentinels, soldiers, maybe a titan," Said Kol Badar while on the brink of going blood thirsty,
"My friend, fear not the outcome, It will take hundreds of soldiers to fell one of our glorious Warrior Brothers, your terminators shall fell even more before falling, if they fall. One squad can take on a chimera, if they've a demon, then they can take on over a dozen tanks. Our Aspiring champions can cut down sentinels with the weapons they wield, and should a titan come, the Lorgar shall give us strength. Should a Titan come, Lorgar will unleash his power, he shall rip the machine asunder with his mind, he shall give our warriors power, fear not the outcome of a hundred battles! Nay, 1,000! No, Never fear the outcome, for we are the Word Bearers, We ARE Chaos! We shall never lose!" This had the desired effect, Kol Badar, the crazed warmaster, was ready for battle, "Now go my warrior, fell the ranks of the False God, In the name of Lorgar, kill them all!" With that, Kol Badar stormed for the nearest Land raider, rhino, anything before the drop.

I'm afraid I haven't read the book Dark Apostle, so you probably have the advantage of me looking at this as just another character as opposed to judging it harshly as a canon character I'm familiar with.

Ok, eventhough people don't really know his last name, character sheets are all IC and OOC information, everything that could ever be needed by a player or moderator. Feel free to make something up, if they don't put one in the book then you have free reign to develop the character in your own way slightly. Put your own touches. : )

Space Marines don't often live to be nearly a thousand years, certainly not when this is before events that take place in a novel. Time works funny in the warp, it's not impossible for a marine to be 2-3 hundred years old, but to have lived to have seen parts of the Horus Heresy. His birth date doesn't matter much, I'm honestly not sure why it's there when only a tiny fraction people know how to give a Warhammer imperial date, hehe. Place of Birth is important. Not everyone comes from a known world, there are countless human planets in the galaxy after all, and you have to have been born somewhere. You didn't just...show up one day.

I'm going to have to ask Amakard how the Psychic Potency works, but I'm pretty sure a 1 makes you something like top of the food chain, strong enough to risk blowing up a planet or consuming a solar system to the warp. Keep in mind that chaos don't use 'psykers', they think it more like 'magic', gifts from the dark gods. Really though, you don't have to list every single power you have, because really, they don't actually name their powers. Tabletop and in the videogames, there are certain abilities that exist with names because they have to be balanced and treated like a weapon. In fluff and roleplaying, nothing is as structured as that. Sorcerer's don't yell out 'Doom bolt!' and fire off a bolt of doom. They wave their fingers, channel the warp through their bodies and usually cut themselves or someone near them to please the gods and daemons, before unleashing a torrent of dark energy that could be any of the 'abilities' you've listed. Honestly? Play it by ear, and keep in mind that Word Bearers are more conversation, subversion and summoning as opposed to 'Magic Missile!'. More of a thousand sons kind of thing there.

Your weapons and equipment once again sound like they've come from tabletop of one of the videogames. The Deamonic stuff doesn't even go in the section, as those are blessings as opposed to weapons or items. They'd be explained in the history or a skills/abilities section.

Appearance could be larger. He could have hair or no hair, may or may not have eye color and there's nothing about scars or anything beyond the text. You also used the format wrong. The stuff you wrote for 'appearance' goes under 'physical appearance'. The picture isn't bad. I like word bearers. Clothing and Armor is...needs work. You should never-ever just point to a picture when you have the option to write something and detail what makes your characters stuff unique.

Personality is good. I like the prophesy part of his history, but then I realized that it was the -entirety- of his history. Where did he come from? Why does he follow chaos? Was he anything before what he is now? Nope, he looked at his skin one day, saw some words and then he suddenly appeared with daemon weapons and blessings and a thousand years of experience.

I know It was sloppy, I was, to be honest, expecting criticizm, just for the sake that I didn't quite know how to finish it correctly, I'll work on it now.

K, I've edited it, how much more needs to be done?

It's looking much better. My only concern now is that even before the events of the novel, the character can destroy a planet. Keep in mind that we only have half a dozen planets and we'd rather not have to make a brand new system for people to destroy in another week.

I'll leave this so that Amakard can have look over it as well. : )

Relax on the planet destroy, this requires a gehemanet which took two weeks to build with millions of slaves, It leaves the Dark Apostle totally weak, usually killing them. Also, there have only been a couple of recorded instances of actual destruction, It usually opens up a small rift to the warp. No Dark Apostle (Jarulek included) Has ever made two, few make one, and even fewer make a strong one.

And yes, the only time he makes one is during the Novel, so I can't make one, besides, that would require me to wrest a planet from Imperial control, enslave the population, and hold the planet for a couple weeks while the Gehemanet is being built, and it could kill me. Gotta avoid killing myself.

Well, I don't really feel motivated with this guy any more, I'll leave it be, I don't want to RP a bad guy much either.

Ok zel i gave this the once over and well psychic potency is 5-1 yes its backwards 1 is called an alpha primus psycher and can explode heads. Now im warning you if you want this character that there will be people out to kill you im not talking about the marines or guardsmen. Im talking about the officio assasinorum and the Ordo Maleus and they are a little bit tougher than the basic guys, i bet your aware of this and, though i am iffy on having a #1 potence level guy i can allow it...IF you can show your worth in nightengale do that and ill let this beast of a character play the game, just have to consult with blind.

Yeah, I really lost the motivation for anything other than front lines, I mean, giving orders, rousing speeches, and coming onto the battlefield riding a giant daemon is nice and all, but not my style.

Ok, I don't feel the Dark Apostle is quite my thing, a Dark Apostle rarely goes to the front lines, usually only as a show of the might of chaos, Usually something along the lines of gracefully doing something surreal like walking on air, this usually followed by an incredibly powerful smiting of the enemy. Usually though, the Dark Apostle will stay away from the front lines, usually chiefly guiding the chapter in worship before a battle then traveling towards the back of the chapter, summoning, morphing marines, and unleashing havoc on the enemy. I'm just saying that I prefer a more direct, front lines approach. So for now I'll leave this guy be, you guys can use it for whatever, I don't really care.

What Zeldrax means is that a Dark Apostle is basically a Chaos version of a Chaplain. They're marines, they can fight as well as everybody else, but they're more in the line of work of worship, advice and litanies. They're job is to work and inspire behind their own lines and corrupt the populace to chaos to usher in an invasion.

Basically, Zeldrax doesn't really feel the itch to play this kind of character at the moment, so the thread will be moved to the Void character section. If you feel the urge to play him, feel free to post in the thread again and let us know so we can bring it back out and go over it at a later date. : )
