[Elysium] Space Dock

The main dock to the floating of Elysium for all space traffic entering the atmosphere or exiting it. There are a number of guards with security scanners and eye implants, though someone with enough credits could potentially bribe the guards to get...rather unsavory cargo through...
Currently there is much uproar, as the UVS Magellan is scheduled to begin its first journey for the Exploration Corps from this very space port's loading dock A.

William sighed at the sight of the crowd gathered around the UVS Magellan. Twenty years ago he was in the crowd... "No," William thought to himself, "best not to think of that, we're here for business. Business."... William seemed to be walking around aimlessly but really he was look at the grim crews of merchants and straining to over hearing their conversations, trying to grasp just what they were carrying and where. Hoping to get a lift or better yet a job.

There were various merchants, all engaged in statistical conversations about figures and spice transports from Mars as well as talk of bribery and trade embargos. It was all fees and figures.
There was a young female in brown robes whose conversation with a gray-haired merchant seemed quite interesting though. She seemed quite pretty though she couldn't have been older than seventeen.
"I'm telling you, all I need is someone to move it, we'd make major credits!"
The old man sighed, shaking his head and shoving her roughly like a doll.
"Shut your mouth, you stupid whore! Only an idiot would take a job like that! Now get out of my way so I can see the Magellan!"

Working his way through the crowd William approached the young girl and pulled her by the elbow away from the older man who seemed to be preoccupied by watching the Magellan. William spoke to her, his words concealed by the buzz of the people around them. "I hear you need an idiot to move your goods and make major credits. I could be that idiot."

The Companions vessel arrived and docked after receiving clearance. Fade/S.A.R.A. had a reputation for professional top notch technology and for finding the interesting. That meant an advantage to anyone in their favor and even the Docks would be bartering for their skills. The notorious refuge ship 'The Companions' was staffed by a dedicated crew of Smartlings all sporting top quality eye wear. They worked for the freedom of their people.

Fade wasn't some hero or savior inside. He wasn't out to make the universe a better place or to free the oppressed. He had been on his usual scouting ways collecting data for the Greys. He had studied the Smartling. He had come to be their friend. No one messed with Fade's friends, they were just too few. Until then.

S.A.R.A. his life partner, the AI who looked like an average human woman, turned into her second form, the suit to merge and armor her love, her husband-self. After all Fade even shared his cranium with her and she really liked the Smartlings.

So in one colony had been freed. They were banned from the sector. Initial bounties set were twarted when the ones paying had unfortunate accidents. The price to stay free was service to the Greys as living sensor arrays.

They set him free and made S.A.R.A. into a cutting edge sentient. Then they loaded them with sensors and set them lose. No words or pictures but life signs, patterns, information and discovery. The fact Fade had gone totally mad at long last became and advantage. Fade navigated to the freaks, geeks, weirdos, monsters, outcasts, mutants, and scum of all races. Merged with his S.A.R.A. wife-self they made one astounding technical crew for those hard to find and make items. The repaired and improved. The Smartlings friends they freed served as an almost religiously fanatic crew.

When they weren't seeking some new form of hedonistic pleasures or providing tech, they were exploring. The least known most bizarre locations which seemed random. Yet there was an amazing amount of discoveries made that way. Serendipity was a well known factor. The Greys had in the Fade/S.A.R.A and their crew. The Smartlings seemed sure that they were on some sacred quests of some sort but Fade would never admit it to them. He just happily lost bets at gambling and loved the company. A strange and compelling monster married to a kindly machine.

The emerged slowly into the station proper. The Smartlings left on various tasks first. When all was more than secure Fade and S.A.R.A. emerged. They didn't look particularly impressive. It looked like a Feral technician in coveralls with lots of tool belts, walking with a very average looking native of Venus also in coveralls. It looked like they'd come to fix something.

Boy was that true! One way or another, something, somewhere, and someone was going to be fixed. Chances were all of the above. Fade was totally insane and an AI telepresence from his mixed heritage. S.A.R.A was a complex caring AI bonded to him and the protection of her Smartlings which she saw as her children. The Greys are eager to see what type of progeny the Fade/S.A.R.A. will eventually develop as a result. Add the factors together and you got a serendipity situation. Fixing was destined.

Charles Triago made his way down the ramp into the Venus space port. He made his way to docking bay forty-two where a vessel for a scientific expedition was waiting for him. He received a virtual message stating that he should be at docking bay forty-two upon this day to join several other scientists on an expedition to an undisclosed location. He was recruited as the specialist in microbiology for this specific endeavor, or so the message told him. When he got to docking bay forty-two he was surprised by its size. It was a relatively large ship for what Charles deemed to be a simple job. He boarded the ship and took a seat in his assigned quarters.

Comrade in the Shade:

The girl yanked her elbow away in surprise, raising her hand to slap or shout at William in anger but then holding it and listening silently to her words. Still silent seconds later, she finally spoke, rubbing her arm in annoyance.
"Hmph, an idiot willing to do it, huh? You have any experience moving stuff, or are we both gonna be space dust soon?"

DaveyB
The feral technician walked away with the Venusian as various people paid no mind to Fade/S.A.R.A., apparently more engrossed in staring at the UVS Magellan and cheering as various crew members made their way to and fro inside the Venusian ship docked and ready for its mission.
Out of the crowd came a rather unseemly and nefarious sight however, a Galgamekian merchant, a surprise to see one of his kind so far from his planet. They were generally stupid and rude and never got along with the other planet's races. The Galgamekian floated his stinky green body towards the Companions vessel with effortless telekinetic grace for such a smelly and disgusting form.

"Welcome to Venus, welcome to you both, freer of Smartlings. Funny to see bastards as infamous as you here. I'll never understand what you see in those faggots."

Paogogo
When Charles arrived at docking bay forty-two and entered the ship, he found it oddly empty. No one seemed to be around inside the ship. Were they all outside gawking at the famous UVS Magellan super ship or had he been duped? The ship was oddly silent and eerily empty.

Charles walked around the ship looking for someone, anyone really. Finding no one he choose to leave the ship and ask around for the captain of the ship which was marked as The Valor.

"The space dust is up to you." William said, motioning to her not to make a scene. "I have thirteen years of work in the business, most of the time we shipped legit while also smuggling goods in a double hull. Me and the old man made a good team, but now he's past and I'm looking for new work." William paused, straightened his suit then extended his hand to be shook, "My name is Cameron Youthilian, pleased to be at your service and sorry about your arm."

Fade turned his head to the side and looked at the thing talking to him. He said, "What in the name of the Great Grey's balls is that?"

S.A.R.A. gave a light laugh and said, "That's a Galgamekian. We freed our friends from them."

Fade nodded and said, "Oh.... that's what they look like?
I didn't really notice at the time...

Let's go get a drink."

S.A.R.A. gave the briefest of pauses then said, "Yes they look like that.
Sure, but let's find somewhere entertaining?"

Fade sort of grunted in agreement and they made their way towards the exit terminal.

As Charles walked out, he beheld the crowds of people once more, plenty of people there to ask about the Captain of the Valor.

The girl sighed, shaking Cameron's hand and shaking her head.
"The name's Julia Lucius. You're crazy, you know that? Do you even care to know what I want to transport before taking the job?"

The Galgamekian didn't follow them as they left towards a good bar, the signs and datapads for tourists around indicating that there were a number of good bars and taverns, such as the Korova, Bevuto, or Kiriyama.

After checking out the choices they decided to head for the Korova Bar. It had a nice feel to it and seemed oddly familiar. Didn't he have an Uncle Alex that worked there? Maybe....

"Well Ms. Lucius I found out long ago that it didn't much matter the severity of the illegal substance we carried, so long as we don't get caught. That's what I intend, not to get caught." William, or Cameron, smirked, "Another thing," waving his hand at in the direction of the more grisly figures around them, " is that I figured quickly while in the game: not to ask too many questions. Everyone wants too keep their business to themselves. But, you don't seem to seasoned in the back dealings of the black market, how many times have you done this kid?"

Charles muttered something about hating space ports to himself. Nonetheless he walked over to a man and woman that seemed to be debating an issue of equal importance, maybe they too were looking for information on the Valor.

Julia nodded slowly.
"I get it, I get it. Ever heard of Smartlings? And you don't happen to have a ship though, do you? We'll either have to convince a merchant to help us or steal one."

As Charles approached, they seemed to be muttering about shipments and such, probably merchants with no relation to the Valor. He'd have to find a Galactic Marine uniform perhaps, someone with the knowledge. And in fact a marine was standing closeby, gawking at the Magellan with a laser blast at his hip.
