Konan went to where Pein had asked her to meet him, resting against the hallway outside the door. She knew this hall was secret, she doubted even Madara was aware of where it was, the amount of secret doors, halls and twists and turns it took just to get here, and skipping over traps was hard too...

She glanced at the door, waiting to see what body would come out.

The Human Realm found itself moving towards the blank wall, the same blank wall that separated the outside world from the Sacred Room of the Six Paths of Pain. It was no small feat creating the room and setting the sheer amount of traps inside of it, enough to kill even the strongest ninja should they make even the smallest mistake. Konan and Pain, however, were the only two ninja who knew the rooms exact spot, and even then it took Konan a whiles to navigate the amount of traps.

A pale hand outstretched itself and touched the wall, opening up the familiar large hole and revealing the hall way before him. Konan stood there, slumped on a wall and seemingly waiting for him to come out. It always took some preparation to get the bodies ready for anything, and interrogation usually took a longer while to prepare for.

Human Realm kept the same cocky smile the body usually did and stepped out of the room, keeping the eyes looking at Konan and letting the orange hair fall infront of it’s face ever so slightly. If it wasn’t for her then most of the things he had done in his life would have never happened, however those sounds that he heard earlier… With a quick shake of the head such thoughts were gone and the Human Realm stood up straight, surveying the room as the Rin’Negan’s pupil and rings dialated in different formations. He was shifting through all light and chakra spectrums, making sure that there was nothing that wasn’t supposed to be that could see or hear Pain or Konan. There weren’t any.

Looking back to Konan he prepared to speak, deactivating the light function of his eyes.

“The intruder has proven hostile, Konan. Itachi is going to capture him and bring him back to the tower, however when he does I want you to meet him at the gate and bring the intruder here so I can…read him.” Finished speaking to her he simply turned and walked back to the open wall, performing a seal to close it and slouching on it, waiting for Konan’s answer.

She nodded, looking up at him. The face was pretty on this body, she loved the long hair, and the body was pretty good too... but as usual it was only the eyes Konan looked at, only seeing Pein, not the body or the shell of the ninja it used to be.

He was upset about something. She knew that from how he'd tried to shake something out of his head. Konan wondered if he'd seen or heard something... her cheeks reddened somewhat and she glanced back down. Like it or not, she had no defense around him, no quiet-aggressive state to protect herself like she had with Akatsuki. It was like being naked.

Luckily, he wasn't talking about them. He was talking about Akatsuki things.

"Itachi shouldn't take too long." She muttered. "I'll head in that direction soon and wait near the fight." Konan couldn't go now, without a robe, she had to get a spare one. "Can... do you have a spare robe in there I can use? They all look the same so no one will notice. Tob... I mean, Madara, got the other one covered in the soup I cooked."

Fuck, she still sounded like the soft spoken girl she used to be. Konan hated it and liked it at the same time. But not now. It was a bad time.

Pain gave out a bored sigh, standing back up and turning away from the women. Her voice was always lovely, and to a sense it amused Pain whenever she tried to harden like she did with the others, but to him she would always be the same girl that both Yahiko and Nagato knew from when they were kids. This though, too, was shaken out of his head, there was no Nagato, no Yahiko…only Pain now. A God who was born from the infinite universe of pain, Amegakure.

With a swipe of a hand the wall opened, and as he walked in there and grabbed another blank wall, the darkness covering his body completely, he pulled out what seemed to be some featureless mass. As he pulled it out and slung it around his shoulder, the light from the outside hallway revealed the mass to be another cloak, the red clouds coming into visible sight as the Human Realm stepped out of the chamber and the wall behind him closed again.

He felt his eyes trace Konan’s figure once, and with a single motion tossed the cloak over to her, the soft fabric leaving his hands and the body to slump back down the wall and onto the ground.

“Don’t do anything dangerous, Konan.” The words came out to quickly and in a voice other then Pain’s, other then Yahiko’s and even different from the original Human Realm body. It was almost as if Nagato had chosen to come forth and speak. Pain himself took no heed of these words, in fact in his mind it was as if time had skipped foreword, his eyes closed and his body saving up the chakra it needed to perform the jutsu on the intruders mind.

She watched him return, his eyes on her, and tugged the robe on so that the pants and net top were covered again, zipping it up so that Konan looked as featureless and shapeless as the rest of them. It was a bit longer... but only a bit.

She glanced up at him in surprise as those words came out. Don't do anything dangerous?

Maybe she'd imagined it. He knew as well as she did that Akatsuki itself was dangerous, the others, the things they had to do, the beasts they had to get... Dangerous was all she could do when she was working in Akatsuki for him. Konan suspected that she was getting off lightly with Amegakure nin because they believed her to be an angel, and who'd harm an angel? They all seemed eager to please her.

"Pein, are you all right?" Konan would leave in a second, as soon as she made sure her partner was fine. She was already positioned on the windowsill, opening the window so the wind and rain blew in hard, deciding to take her usual 'angel' shortcut as soon as he stopped the rain.

A single eye opened in response to Konan, her question was baffling to say the least. Pain let the question “Are you all right?” stew in his head for a good minute or so, stareing at her as if she was some deranged lunatic. In fact it was as if Pain thought he didn’t even know her, asking him questions out of the blue like that.

“Yes, I am. Why wouldn’t I be?” The words were said in a matter-of-fact tone, he couldn’t get over such a redundant question such as that.

Behind the wall Human Realm slouched on was a stir as the Deva Realm body moved it’s hands into the form of a hand seal as lay in it’s restful state, the pod around it large enough to cover the whole entire body. Slowly the rain outside the tower began to weaken and weaken until it became a weak, fine mist over the village itself, securing full safety for Konan. The Human Realm closed it’s eyes before nodding to her, giving her the confirmation to go.

She felt a bit hurt by his answer, and that look... she always checked up on him, even if she didn't say it out loud. Oh well. He could take care of himself now, he hadn't needed her, that was why she'd agreed to the thing she and Madara had. Pein was fine on his own. Konan just had moments where she forgot that, like just then...

"Nevermind. I'll see you soon." She muttered and headed out quickly, suddenly becoming a mass of paper butterflies, heading for where she could sense the Yahiko body.

Konan returned after a while in a mass of paper and re-fleshed herself. She turned to shut and lock the window, cutting off the wind outside, then looked for Pein.

"Itachi is using genjutsu. There's not much I can do, I can't even look properly." She shrugged. "He can heave the body up here if you'd like, I don't think the man will be able to do much if Itachi uses his eyes to interogate him himself."

She rested against the wall, shutting her eyes.

The Human Realm’s eyes opened with a sort of dissatisfaction as they peered at Konan. How disappointing, she had failed him in bringing back the man and he had no time to go and get the body himself, not with Itachi and an army of Rain-nin there that would see his face. With a brief sigh he stood and motioned to move over to the wall, his hand passing over it and once again releasing the darkness of the inner room into the world once more.

“Konan get started on preparations. In two days we will arrive at Kirigakure no Sato and we will take the Jinchuuriki.” The Human Realm’s voice was ever so slightly more aggressive then the Deva Realm’s, a notable feature that was often used to help Konan understand his meanings a little clearer that most other ninja, including those in the Akatsuki, never picked up on.

With a simple hand seal chakra began to pump through the room, activating the bodies and the bodies functions resuming. This was the sad thing about his Jutsu, it required time to activate the bodies, and if a particular fatal blow was incurred then the body became virtually useless as all of these bodies remained alive when the piercing were added. The Human Realm turned and looked at Konan, conveying to her to not only hurry up but to be fully prepared, Kirigakure would have stronger ninja then most, and their Kage was most likely around Hanzou’s level which would complicate things to the extreme. With another wave of the hand, the wall closed.

Konan stared at the closed door a moment. He was still acting off, refusing to act like they were alone, talking to her like she was a stranger, just a member of Akatsuki he could use. They were alone... but he still took that tone with her. She glanced away, missing that relaxed familiarity they usually had, and nodded as her face hardened.

"As you wish, God-sama." She said to the door, voice tense, thinking of the metal rod he'd put into her chin, so that he could summon her at any time... so that he could watch her movements... Konan was tempted to take it out and throw it at the stupid door. She took off down the hall, heading off to make preperations.

Konan reappeared outside the room with the pack and knocked on the door. He had to know. He was acting so strange since.. stranger than normal, and cold. She had to admit it now or never get it done.

The closed door also made things much easier.

"Pein... about Madara." She said to the door, knowing he'd be able to hear her inside. He had five or six pairs of ears in there! Konan glanced down a moment, feeling guilty suddenly. "We're...we've been ... doing it for a while. For a few years." Almost ten years, actully, since he had found them and found her, a seriously innocent and native thing. Those both hadn't lasted long at all. "I belong to him in that way... I'm still yours though, still everything else for you... I kept meaning to tell you but... well, anyway. I'll be outside. We can leave when you're ready."

She turned her back on the very quiet door, looking out the window, wondering what was going on with the ANBU movements outside.

Thoughts, emotions, tears, anger, destruction, and most of all, pain flooded his mind, his ideals, his thoughts, his whims. Pain was a god, a god and yet when it came to this grey area of light he found himself dumb founded. Was this a genjutsu, some form of hideous assassination? Instantly the Human Realm looked up and began shifting through every form of light possible. This was reality. Reality.

Slowly he found his head look downwards to the ground, so what he heard easlier was true, what he heard was what he thought it was. Betrayel. Her words, her attempts to make things easier and to rid herself of her guilt did nothing but create enough anger in Pain to want to destroy a country, as if the destructive impulses of this God would make him feel better in some form or way. The hands of the Human Realm were crackiling with pain now, he was squeezing to the point that blood trickled down the fingers and onto the floor. His body was shaking, anger like this did not find its place in just any being. Only this one.

It wasn’t just Pain, however, who felt the emotions, it was both Yahiko and Nagato, and whilst Yahiko was dead his personality still remained in parts of Pain and it was more then enough to cause the God to tremble in so much agony that it took every single muscle he had, every lesson he had in restraint, to stop himself from bursting through the wall and destroying everything in front of him. Nagato was a different story however, as while his mind had been forced to meld with Yahiko’s and create Pain’s persona, the Nagato body hidden from all, he was still alive in some form of the word. It was Nagato who felt the most hurt, who’s pain related to Pain’s to the point of death.

“W-What did you say, Konan?” It was at this point that he began to question the area around him but his voice, the voice from this body was booming, loud and worst of all cracking. How long had it been since he was at this point, that he had felt like this? With what clarity his mind had left he began to feel his thoughts drift over to the day he destroyed the first Amegakure no Sato, Hanzou and the others. The anger he felt on that day was nearly as high as this, and then he was forced to destroy everything around him for miles upon miles just to quench it. Now all he could do was have the Deva Realm body recreate the storm.

Amegakure greeted the massive down pour, the strongest it had ever seen. Ever. Lightning cracked the sky, thunder destroyed the sound barrier, and the rain turned everything outside into a dark hell. Slowly he asked again, just one more time to try and understand her. “What did you say?”

She stared at the door, torn between running and going to him. Konan froze, cringing as lightning crackedthrough the sky, as Amegakure threatened to be blown and washed away by the tropical-like storm that was suddenly tearing through it.

Konan shouldn't have told him. She could picture his face without having to see it. She knew she had to tell him at some point, given that she wasn't supposed to keep secrets and neither was he, but now that she had told him... and besides, it wasn't like he'd ever wanted sex. He never tried to touch her or kiss her since the merge, not once, and before that when he tried something, Yahiko or Nagato, they were usually too busy being jealous of each other to do much with her. While she l...well, even though she was his partner, she still needed touch, affection and just plain old good sex. Konan wasn't as good at playing 'Angel' as he was at being God.

She tugged the door open and stared at him, reconizing the rage in his face. He wasn't going to be Then she did something only she was brave... and stupid... enough to do, Konan took the few large steps towards the human realm body and grabbed it around the neck, hugging it hard to her, his tall body having to stoop, hugging him hard, trying to comfort him. They'd never touched, at least not like this, not since he was a boy. She hugged him hard, aware that he could and probably would hurt her badly, but Konan didn't care. This wasn't about him being Pein, leader of Akatsuki and God, this was about him being the two boys she l... cared for, and her need to comfort them, like she always had to She murmered, "I'm still your partner, Nagato... Yahiko... and nothing's changed. You never needed sex, you never wanted me that way, you haven't even hugged me since we were young... and I'm still your partner in any other way... I'm still beside you, on your side, so please don't be angry with me...please calm down..." She didn't care if he called himself Pein, they were safe in his room, and she risked using the forbidden names just this once.

He still smelt like Nagato, she thought as she clung to him. Someone elses body, but he still smelt like how Nagato used to smell.

[Sorry Cory, unless you want to follow the summon (via the piercing) there is not much to reply too DX]

Pain felt his body grimace as the wall opened, his bloodlust leaking through the open cavity and filling everything around him with the intent to kill. It seeped into the stones, the air, the clothes, everything and yet Konan still decided to tear the wall down, to come through despite the rage he was feeling at her, Madara and everything else, and above all else she even hugged him and used those two forbiddon names.

With a cringe in his body from the soft touch he felt the Human Realm’s body start to weaken in it’s legs, the strong rain outside starting to soften and his heart feeling just a bit better. So that was the problem, that was the issue, he just couldn’t keep her content. The Yahiko in him laughed, the Nagato in him felt disappointed and yet the Pain that made up the bodies persona simply stood there, melancholy, eyes looking up to the ceiling now. He felt a twinge in his body, a seemingly deaf spirit entering his body, he was just too shy when it came to this kind of thing to even dare to try anything on Konan, it was as if something was holding him back. Probably the subconscious of parts of Nagato within him.

The Human felt it’s body turn now, holding her in his arms for what was possibly the first time this body ever had. The Rin’Negan looked into her eyes, not with the fury of Pain but with the softness of Nagato. His lips began to move closer to hers, and right before they kissed he stopped. Now there was a problem.

He tore away from her, made a hand seal and in an instant the Animal Realm body bolted up, a grimace in it’s teeth. With a loud curse he looked to Konan, jumped off the pod and motioned to her with a sad hand.

“We have an intruder, a powerful one. We can continue our talks later, but for now I will go and personally see to this issue.” His voice was one of quite rage, shuddering and, most of all, ready to tear something limb from limb. It was time for a hunt and with a hand seal he was gone, outside the main village and inside his invisible chameleon summon. It took a deep sniff of the air, in the main city it was a bitch to track things down, the city smell was too deep in the pipes. However outside, in the water and rain, smelling down enemies was easy as one to three, and now all he had to do was go to the border and kill his prey.

She gazed up at him with wide eyes as his lips came for her, Nagato's eyes staring at her with that strange expression she saw sometimes. It didn't matter who's body it had once been, it was still him, and she had trouble denying him... he was softening too, his mood relaxing.

Konan felt his body shift away from hers suddenly and she felt both relieved and dissapointed, her eyes dropping to the ground. Fuck. That was close. She had nearly betrayed Madara and if she had...

"All right." She muttered as she glanced back up. The plus side to his anger was that he was good at detecting things... Konan watched him through the window as he left, still feeling the heat in her cheeks. She wanted to hide in her chambers but she knew that as his partner, even if she stayed a distance away, she should go watch over what was happening. She could keep her distance from him just in case...
