Durcone Terminal HQ

The Real Headquarters of Durcone Investments actually isn't in the Terminal- its on another world, which James Durcone bought the gate to, and paid enough $T to have all records of it wiped from every document he could lay his hands on. But the Local headquarters serves well enough- it is built from a variety of rare stones and metals- and jade is inlayed into the walls and floor. The Job agency is near the entrance- and unlike the other two major organizations here- you don't have to check your weapons.

In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men the great difficulty lies in this: You must first enable the government to control the governed, and in the next place, oblige it to control itself.

In politics, as in religion, it is equally absurd to aim at making proselytes by fire and sword. Heresies in either can rarely be cured by persecution.

Nothing is more certain than the indispensable necessity of government, and it is equally undeniable, that whenever and however it is instituted, the people must cede to it some of their natural rights in order to vest it with requisite powers.

Gavin entered the Terminal HQ of Durcone Investments, a bank of such size and scope that Gavin could hardly imagine a fraction of it, and he had a degree in modern physics. After spending three weeks in the Terminal, living off of what money he had with him and could exchange for Terminal currency. Finally, he decided that he needed to find a job.

Gavin walked up to the desk at the job office.

"Excuse me, but I'm looking for a job."

The Clerk looked up from his work, and nodded. "I'm going to need your name and your areas of expertise."

"My name is Gavin Kimball, I have a degree in physics from a 'T8', I believe that is the designation, world. But, my line of work has generally been in obtaining artifacts of a protected variety, couriering information in danger of interception without the use of such visible methods as armored cars or convoys through an urban landscape, and the occasional covert espionage mission."

The Clerk nodded and consulted a list. "We have some information we'd like to obtain regarding some bothersome locals on Brittanica Endless, and we have a couriering job to Gustav Rex."

Gavin thought for a moment, he had heard both of those worlds mentioned in the tavern since he had arrived here.
"Hmm, well, the job on Brittanica Endless sounds interesting enough. What does it pay, and what are the details?"

"There is a German Businessman in Hamburg that is refusing to play ball with one of our subsidaries there- they don't know about The Terminal. They've been trying to buy up his company, but he's been stonewalling them. There's a great deal of reason to believe that he is involved in deals with the criminal underworld there- but no solid proof. We've agreed to send someone over to help get it."
"The pay will be 125$T up front, plus another 500 upon completion. If you get involved in an altercation while performing the job there is a 60$T Hazzard compensation."

"Thank you. Do you happen to have a train schedule? You'll have to forgive me for not having one, I've only just come to the Terminal."

"Thank you very much, I suppose I'll go catch that train." With that, Gavin turned to leave and headed for the train station.
