The United Supreme Union Embassy

The embassy for the United Supreme Union is a complex that is smaller than one would imagine. It is a 2 story building, and one would guess looking at it that it probably has a couple dozen offices, but no more. It fits the motif of almost every other government building: a dark red brick, jet black shingles and a exceptionally steep slanted roof. There are very large glass windows along the front side of the building, but along all other sides there are slightly smaller than normal windows.

In order to gain access to the embassy proper, one must pass through a series of 2 checkpoints, and then a final gate. The first of the checkpoints houses a lone armed guard who reads over the paperwork of those who enter. The second checkpoint is significantly larger, holding at least 3 separate rooms. An armed guard stands at the ready by the door, and a tall gentleman wearing the instantly distinguishable robes of a High Priest sits inside the entrance. There are no discernible windows on the sides, although there are obviously sky lights in the ceiling because you can see the sunlight on the floor. The Priest asks all visitors to the embassy to recite "The Holy Vows to the Supreme Lord" before passing. Visitors who refuse to do so are recorded and their resistance is passed along to the Ambassadors. The final gate is guarded by another lone guard, who checks paperwork once more before opening the shiny, black gate.

As people approach the main entryway to the embassy, they notice the relative lack of trees. There are a couple of decorative shrubs, but there are no large trees. Rumors in the Union are that nothing is done without purpose; people have proposed this was done to make the embassy look larger.

Entering the embassy, one cannot help but notice the large portrait of the Supreme Lord that hags directly behind the receptionist's desk. The young woman there kindly greets all visitors and arranges their meetings for them.

A Jaguar XF pulls up to the gate. A tall well built man sits inside it. The man lowers it's windows and calls for the guard:

"Hello I'm Hendrik Rabane, ambassador to the Northern Corporation. I'm here in talks between our two fabolous nations"

The guard strolls up to the car and gives the man inside a quick head-to-toe. Sensing no immediate threat, he addresses the man.

Checkpoint Guardsman: Welcome to the Embassy of the United Supreme Union. May I please see the paperwork you were issued for your meeting today?

The guard turns around and grabs a small, hand held scanner from inside his small guardpost, and waits for the man in the car to retrieve his paperwork.

Hendrik takes some papers out of the glove compartment giving them a quick look to make sure it's the right ones.

"certainly! here you go."
Hendrik reaches his hand outside with the requested papers.
"I hope the papers is in order."

The guardsman looks of the papers. Everything appears to be in order. He then takes the hand held scanner and scans the barcode on the upper left corner of the page. After about 10 seconds, a green light pops up on the scanner, indicating everything is in order.

Checkpoint Guardsman: Everything checks out, Mr. Rabane. Since these papers indicate this is your first visit to our Embassy, let me give you a card that will help you with the recitation of the Holy Vows.

The guardsman reaches back into his guard house and grabs a small, white, rectangular card which he hands to the ambassador along with his paperwork.

Checkpoint Guardsman: The card will tell you everything that you need to know. Please pull forward.

The guardsman raises the small barrier and allows the car to pass through. He closes the barrier, and then goes back into his guard house and radios ahead that a foreign car is approaching.

A Foreigner's Guide to the Recitation of the Holy Vows:

Welcome to the United Supreme Union! His Holiness, the Supreme Lord, requires that all citizens recite a verse from the Book of Platina at strategic places in the country to guarantee the faith is followed. Foreign Ambassadors are not required to perform this task; however, preferential treatment shall be given to those who are willing to show this sign of gratitude and honor to His Holiness.

I vow to always strive to ensure the honor and might of His Holiness, the Supreme Lord. I vow never to act in a manner that shall jeopardize His divine plans. I vow to always hold myself in a manner that is appropriate for a citizen (NOTE: Ambassador's may say Visitor) of the United Supreme Union.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Please note that we have a plethora of materials to help you further your enlightenment should you wish to take these items back to your homeland.

Hendrik Drives through the gate and to the main building where the two next checkpoints are located. He parks his Jaguar on what seems to be the parking lot.
Hendrik steps outside the car and approaches the entrance guard, Hendrik has his ID ready just in case.
As he approaches the entrance he notices that the facade has no windows. He thinks to himself that, that is a little architectural weird. When he walks up the stairs to the guardsman he thinks nothing of it.

Hendrik: Hello I'm an ambassador to The Northern Corporation. May you show me the way to your ambassador?

The voice is a little anxious

OOC note: Theoretically, you would still be in your car at this point, as the building you are currently at is not the embassy proper, but the final guardhouse. You are, of course, welcome to walk up to the embassy but that doesn't seem like Ambassador behavior.
======================================

One of the High Priests of the Union is alerted on his radio that a foreign visitor shall be approaching shortly.

Checkpoint Priest: His Holiness, the Supreme Lord, requests that all visitors recite the Holy Vows. Please do so now, or state your reason for objecting.

OOC: ah i didn't know...thx :)
=========================
Hendrik had been practicing the vows since he learned of them. He did not want to offend anyone of this country which could jeopardize the treaty he had in mind. he began reading up the vows as he remembered them. He talked with closed eyes consentrating on getting the vows right.

Hendirk Rabane: I vow to always strive to ensure the honor and might of His Holiness, the Supreme Lord. I vow never to act in a manner that shall jeopardize His divine plans. I vow to always hold myself in a manner that is appropriate for a visitor of the United Supreme Union.

The checkpoint priest admires the obvious effort this visitor has put into accepting his religion. He places a gold seal on the man's paper work and instructs him to merely hold the page up as he drives to the gate. The guard will see the seal and open the gate.

As the visitor turns to begin driving away, the priest darts back into his office in the guardhouse. He turns his computer screen back on, and begins feverishly typing notes into the computer, hoping to relay the required information to the ambassador before this visitor arrives for their meeting. He hits the "send" icon on his screen, and then quickly walks back to the door. He sees the gate being opened for the visitor; he has finished in time.

Seeing the smile on the Priest as he finishes the vows gives Hendirk a great relief. He get a golden seal on his papers.
He drives onward to the gate holding his papers up with the golden seal visible. The guard opens the gate once he sees the seal and Hendrik puts the papers back into his glove compartment.

On the way to the main entrance he notices the lack of treas, he only sees a few shrubs here and there. And the drive feels longer by it.

He enters the main embassy and sees a beutifull young woman sitting at the reception desk and a huge picture of a man behind her. Hendrik aproaches the woman.

Hendirik: Hello. I'm here to meet with the ambassador of this embasy.

Hendrik says in a good mood.

The receptionist looks upon the foreign ambassador for a brief moment, smile at him, and than types something into her computer.

Receptionist: Mr. Rabane, I assume? Welcome to the Embassy. Let me get somebody to escort you to the meeting room. The Ambassador should be waiting for you there.

The receptionist signals to a young man standing nearby, says something quietly to him, and smiles back at the foreign ambassador. The young man motions for Rabane to follow him, and then begins walking down the hall to the left of the receptionist. The proceed to the fourth door on the left hand side of the hallway. The guide opens the door and motions the foreign ambassador inside. There, at the far end of the room, sitting at a round conference table, is Petra Ugne, Head Diplomat for the United Supreme Union. He has a small file folder on the table in front of him.

Petra Ugne: Mr. Rabane, a pleasure to finally meet you. Please, have a seat. Are the any refreshments or other courtesies I can call for? We have a wide selection of beverages and foods here at the embassy.

Hendrik sits down in a relativetly comfortable chair, most like his own back home. He picks up his briefcase and takes out a couple of ducuments whilst talking to Petra Ugne.

Hendrik Rabane: I'll just have a glass of water please. You're Petra Ugne i presume? I've heard a lot about you.

Hendirk closes the briefcase and puts it down beside the chair.

Hendrik Rabane: I'm a man who likes to get to the point Mr. Ugne. My goverment proposes an alliance, which may serve both our nations.

Ugne smiles a sly smile. This man has obviously done his homework enough to know that Ugne doesn't like "getting to the point", and he is trying to maintain the upper hand in these negotiations from the beginning. This will be a challenge.

Petras Ugne: I shall have a glass of water sent for immediately.

Ugne presses a small button on the the face of an intercom that is sitting near him on the table. He requests 2 glasses of water for himself and the foreign ambassador. The voice responds that they shall be brought shortly.

Petras Ugne: First off, Mr. Rabane, I have been instructed by His Holiness, the Supreme Lord, to personally thank you for your thoughtful recitation of the vows. I personally find it to be a rather large waste of time to have foreigners do such things, but obviously I have been overruled on that. The report I was given said you seemed to put great effort into them, which is most pleasing to hear.

At this point, a young woman brings the two glasses of water into the room, and sets one in front of each man

Petras Ugne: Please let me know if you require anything further. Now, for business. You say that you bring forth a proposal for an alliance. The Union would certainly consider such a move, but multiple stipulations shall need to be discussed. The most pressing matter is, of course, that your government is not full of members of the faith. And while it is certainly not unheard of for our people to befriend and ally with non-believers, it does complicate matters somewhat. I can only imagine that your own government will find there will be some difficulties involved in dealing with His Holiness.

Hendrik Rabane drinks some of the glas with water, before answering to the ambassador in front of him.

Hendrik Rabane: Thank you for complimating me for the vows. I practiced on it ever since i heard of it. And personaly i think it was some preatty good vows, especially the "jepordize his divine intentions" -part. it shows promise.

Hendrik takes a pasue before continuing

Hendrik Rabane: I'm sure we can hammer out an alliance which both sides can agree upon. It's just a question of compromises and time.

Ugne was pleased by the statement from Rabane. Compromises and time where much more to his liking.

Petras Ugne: Indeed it is. For starters, Mr. Rabane, lets us talk economics. To be perfectly blunt, neither one of our economies individually can compete with the likes of the giant super powers of the world. Moreover, all property of the Union is owned and controlled by His Holiness, while you represent a massive corporation. Are your people willing to work with a government that is ideologically very different than your own?
