The Embassy of New Steinland is a large intricately designed building that acknowledges the cities rich architectural history. It is an old Spanish inspired building, with a modern twist. Made of mostly glass (shatter proof, bullet proof), it has a stone molding surrounding it, somewhat like a shell, giving that old building effect. The exterior walls (front and side) are made of glass, reinforced by titanium. The side exterior walls are made of stone. They are 3 feet thick with a one foot thick lining of titanium in the middle. The embassy is 14 floors tall, and has 3 levels of underground parking. Surrounded by 15 foot wrought iron fencing, the building is protected by the most elite of all Stein forces. There are 40 military personnel on site at all times, and 10 guards at the door. The office of Foreign Minister Benjamin Goldberg is located on the 14th floor, in the penthouse office. The embassy being located waterfront, he enjoys magnificent views. Also, Ambassador Steven Ellis' office is located on the 13th floor with a similar view to that of the penthouse office. The entrance hall in the embassy is a two floor foyer decked out with marble floors, golden trim along the ceilings and walls, mosaics dating back to the 13th century, and a marvelous red colored carpeting. A private restaurant is located in the back of the embassy featuring a waterfront balcony where diplomats enjoy five star meals. This restaurant is said to be one of the best in the world, by many food critics whom were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to eat there. The many safety features of the embassy are well implemented, making it one of the safest in the world. The three support systems in the building ensure that if the building is damaged in any way possible, and one of the structures is jeopardized, there are an additional two structures that can take on the weight of the building preventing collapse. The walls on both sides of the embassy (the front and back are glass) are 3 feet thick with a one foot thick layer of pure titanium lining them, making them virtually indestructible. The glass walls in the front and back of the embassy are made with state of the art shatter proof, bullet proof glass that is reinforced with eloquent titanium molding. There are also several escape routes via the sewers, river, and roof that are accessible from the inside out only in case of emergency. These are all manned by at least one military personnel at all times. The embassy is also equipped with its own fire and police squads. There are 15 fireman on active duty at all times, and 20 police officers to aid the military personnel if necessary. In case of power failure, the embassy operates on both a separate grid with a direct link to its own personal solar power plant. In addition, it has 15 back up generators that allow it to operate without a direct link of power for up to 2 months. The glass walls in both the front and the back of the embassy are also equipped with micro solar panels embedded in the glass, which help recharge 5 generators solely dedicated to powering all forms of communication such as fax machines, computers, wireless internet routers, news broadcasting equipment, telephones, and even telegraph machines in case of total communication failure. When a diplomat comes the the Stein embassy, they have nothing to fear. Out state of the art embassy will provide them any service they may require, and if it does not, let someone know and guaranteed next time you visit it will be available! |

Adriana Vercita drove up in her luxury vehicle, she loved her job - being able to travel the world, make world relations and contacts. She was a thin, lanky woman with bronze skin; she wasn't native to Cape Verde, but when she met Rui Correiria for the first time she knew she wanted to work with him. Eventually she got a job with the Cape Verde government and incidentally ended up as Rui's personal assistant. Adriana slowed the car down to a stop as she pulled up to the gate. She rolled down the window and smiled at the guard; she pulled out her credentials as well as a copy of Ambassador Rui's. Hopefully I wont have any troubles like the last time, I can't believe I had to call the Ambassador that late at night the last time he sent me on a diplomatic mission..., she sighed as she thought of the incident. "A pleasure to see you today, I'm Adriana Vercita - I'm the personal assistant of the Ambassador of Cape Verde. He asked me to come speak to Ambassador Ellis about some paper work for a possible alliance." |

"A pleasure to see you today, I'm Adriana Vercita - I'm the personal assistant of the Ambassador of Cape Verde. He asked me to come speak to Ambassador Ellis about some paper work for a possible alliance." "Of course Ms. Vercita. Please pull through and procede to the check in point where we will take your fingerprints, and send you through the metal detector." replied the guard at the gate. Her vehicle pulled through the gates, around the circle and let Ms. Vercita out. She proceeded to the check in area. "Please madame, if you wouldn't mind dipping your finger in the ink and providing finger prints to run through our systems. When you're finished, please step through the metal detector" (Awaits completion of tasks) |

A limosine drives up with a flag that bears a sun with a white backround. It stops in front of of the embassy. A man in a plain black suit came out the drivers seat and went to the back and opened the door. A young regal looking man wearing a suit and a samurai's daisho stepped out from the back. He went to the gate and approaced the guard. The Samurai bowed and said elougently and formally. "Greetings I wish to speak to the emassary. I wish to discuss a possible relationship between his and my people." He bowed again and rose to wait the guards response. |

"I am Akodo Tongori. I represent The Samurai Imperium." Said the ambassador. "Ah Mr. Tongori, it is a pleasure to welcome you and the Samurai Imperium to our embassy. Please pull through to the checkpoint area where we will take your fingerprints, send you through a metal detector, and then further direct you to the waiting area." the guard said in response. The wrought iron gates open and the diplomat's car enters, rounds the circle, and let Mr. Tongori out. He proceeds to the check in area. "Please Sir, if you wouldn't mind dipping your finger in the ink and providing finger prints to run through our systems. Tongori does everything except when he gets to the part he he is required to disarm himself. He staunchly refuses as he says. "I cannot give up my blades that would dishonored my beyond redemtion. I am afraid I cannot comply with your final request." He stands firm with his hands on his katana ready for a fight. |

"I cannot give up my blades that would dishonored my beyond redemtion. I am afraid I cannot comply with your final request." States Mr. Tongori "I'll see if we can make an exception due to your cultural beliefs. Let me just check with my supervisor." States the guard. The guard scuddles off into the checkpoint office and explains the situation. The supervising officer grants the OK for him to take the swords with him but under special preconditions. He must take them off while he goes through the metal detector, and immediately after will be given back to him. Also, he will be followed by two armed guards at all times. The guard informs Mr. Tongori of the preconditions and he accepts. Successfully going through the metal detector and scrounging up two guards to shadow him, He advances to the waiting area towards the rear of the Embassy. He looks up and down in the main hall and admires its marble walls and gold trim. Once he reaches the waiting area he is greeted with fabulous waterfront views and a charming secretary. She informs him that Ambassador Ellis has been expecting him, and to follow her. She leads him to a mahogany elevator. They enter, and press the PH button (the only button on the panel). The doors open, and the secretary leads him through the hall to the door of the Ambassadors office. He enters and bows courteously. Out of respect, Ambassador Ellis bows back and they begin their meeting. "I hope everything has been to your liking so far Mr. Tongori. It is a pleasure to have you in our embassy. Now, lets get down to business. The Samurai Imperium has sent you to see if we can form an alliance. This would be an amazing feat in history; the day when the Steins and the Samurais can form a bond stronger than any, but there are certain things that must be answered before we can strike such an agreement. First lets start off with the basics: What are your governing styles? Are you in favor of spreading democratic ideals? Is your economy strong? Do you have any allies? Ties with any other nations? What is your position on the Israeli Palestinian conflict? How do you feel about religion mixing with politics? Do you wish to have a free trade agreement with us or any other organization? What charities or relief organizations are based in your country or sponsored by The Samurai Imperium? Are you willing to come to our aid in case of an attack on our soil? If so, how many troops will you provide? Will you provide open and free shipping lanes for Stein freighters to use in trade? What will is your customs procedure? Do you use passports or visas of some sort? What would your position be in allowing Steins into your country on vacation (holiday) or for a long period of time? " The diplomat rubs his beard and thinks of responses to all of the Ambassadors questions, hoping he can win him over. |

Tongori listen with great patience. When the diplomat was finished with his questions he answered them as follows. "We are a Fuedalistic culture. We have a emperor and samurai are the ruling class. So no but we will support our allies choices in any government that they choose. And our economy is decent we have various resources at our disposal. And we have no allies as of yet we have been recovering from our defeat in japan. As well from our conquest of the Mongolians dogs. And our stance the confliuct is that it dont effect us so its not our concern. And we are very religous it guides our actions in all areas of life but only to a extent. We are also willing to trade with you and any others but allies have priority. We do not have charities our people are proud and strong we earn whatever we get. And yes we will help any and all allies in need we will provied whatver amount is needed no more no less. We do not have any sea lanes that you can use but our land routes will be free for your use. But we will need 15% of any proceeds from such cargo that goes through our lands. If that is agreeable to you." He crossed his arms and waited for the diplomats response. |

"Your answers are finely composed and precise. I admire you and your devotion to your nation and culture. I would be honored to have you as an ally of The Allied States of New Steinland. Let us celebrate with a bottle of 1835 Champagne!" Exclaimed the Ambassador After toasting, the ambassador chimes in with one last concern " However, a 15% surcharge for shipping lanes is unacceptable. We will agree to a mutual 10% charge for use of trading routes. We would be willing to allow your vessels to travel through our shipping lanes, which are the only ways to access the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea." He awaits a response from the diplomat |

(OOC: Sorry I had to run again) Adrianna took off her jewelry and set her other metal objects into a small bin and smiled at the guard. "Of course not a problem." She stepped through the metal detector and nothing went off, so she collected the rest of her things seeing the guard had approved them as nonviolent. "When ever you're ready I'd love to speak to your Ambassador now." |

"When ever you're ready I'd love to speak to your Ambassador now." said Ms. Vercita. "Of course Ms. Vercita, if you would follow me please." The guard leads her down to the hall to towards the back of the embassy. She looks up and down in the main hall and admires its marble walls and gold trim. "I hope everything has been to your liking so far Ms. Vercita. It is a pleasure to have you in our embassy. Now, lets get down to business. Ms. Vercita smiled, "Straight to business - I like that in a man." She said it almost jokingly, but she knew it was true and smiled a bit to herself. She cleared her throat and went down the list of questions as the had come. "Well, as you may know Cape Verde is a Parliamentary Representative Democratic Republic Nation - but we openly support all Democratic, Republic, and Parliament type governments. Cape Verde and its associated countries have a Free Market style economy; We consider ourselves rather economically secure, though many would consider classify us as 3rd Tier economically. We currently are working on our relations with other nations, however since Ambassador Rui has not contacted me in a bit, I assume his current negotiations of an alliance with the new Nazi Germany are underway. You would be our second alliance if today goes well - though you were never that far down on our list. *she smiled lightly at the Ambassador* Ambassador Rui has attempted to steer clear of as much conflict as he can, though in this day and age it is getting harder. We are still maintaining a neutral mind in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Cape Verde keeps an open mind about religion, seeing as how our nation has a blend of its own cultures and ideas. However, I believe Ambassador Rui likes to keep his religious views out of politics as much as he can - but when speaking for an entire nation it is something to be considered. Seeing as we are here now talking about it, Cape Verde would like to expand its economy and strengthen it as a whole. Thus as many free trade relations as we could hope we hope to; and again I must state here the Ambassador Rui is currently talking about the same thing with Mr. Luther, the German Ambassador. Off the top of my head I can not recall all of the charities our nation supports, but I can have our secretary compose and email you a list. We tend to try and fend for ourselves though - we feel that it will strengthen Cape Verde and allow us not to become too dependent on others. In time of conflict we would come to your aid though it would be considered case by case. We obviously encourage peaceful negotiations; although sometimes expansion is necessary, and it is in these cases we would not hesitate to offer a hand. Numbers wise I cant say what we would have to offer, since it would depend on the size of our military at the time and the country you are at war with. I can say, Cape Verde is in expansion of its army and military research though. We can and will supply our own trade routes and shipment services, as long as your country is capable and eager to as well. The same statement goes for our visitation and vacation privileges - we will allow you access as long as you are willing and pleasant to our travelers. Cape Verde is prepared to go extremely far in our alliance to your wonderful nation - we can organize and ready land for you to build on in our country, for whatever you need be it military or recreational. We hope New Stein is as accommodating." She smirked slightly at the closing end of that; slowly she took a breathe - it was a lot to talk about, but she knew Rui was doing the same in Germany. Adriana hope she made the right impression on the Ambassador... |
