General Information Name: Hidan Gender: Male Age: Refuses to disclose. Appears early 20s. Country of Origin and Village: Hidden Village of Onsen (Hot Springs)  (Note: village name is not canon) Current Residence: Where his travels and missions take him. History: Born with a rebellious streak, Hidan hails from a small remote village that holds tradition and superstition in high regard. Raised in lower aristocracy, he never knew poverty or hardship which only fueled his constant need for entertainment. The ninja academy was a chore; something he never found a purpose in. A deviant by nature, he found that randomly attacking his team mates would yield more fun and most resented his presence. It was because of an ambush by his own team mates he was presumed killed and discarded, only for him to return the next day completely unharmed. Considered a freak of nature and a curse to the village for his immortality, Hidan was further ostracized. Yet he would often delight in horrifying others around him with his extreme self-mutilations. It was through his disdain, boredom, and inability to die that he became fascinated with death. Given to revenge and disgust, he eventually toyed with and killed his own team mates, went on a rampage until he was subverted and presumed dead once again. His actions drew the attention of an underground cult prevalent in the country and from there he discovered the tenets of Jashin. Through ancient texts of this cult and several years in its immediate service he was taught the secret technique; God's Judgment. It was here he also honed his taijutsu skills and developed a firm devotion to Jashin, which he believed to be his key to salvation. Considered the smiting hand of Jashin, Hidan returned to ravage his home village first, killing relatives, figureheads and all those who knew of his name before he became a noted criminal. There are but a few, if any persons Hidan acknowledges and respects both in past and present. Eventually scouted by the Akatsuki member Zetsu, he was offered a position into the criminal organization with the promise of expanding his desire for carnage. Paired with Kakuzu whom he frequently argues with, they form a formidable and deadly team. Rank: Jonin, S-Class Team/Affiliation: Akatsuki Chakra Affinity and Specialty: Specialty - Immortality: Hidan is completely impervious to the fatal effects of injury except for actual physical limitations (loss of a limb, decapitation). This allows him to perform and survive techniques which would normally kill their user. Through time and the ability to withstand incredible damage, he has also developed a high tolerance to pain, rendering traditional torture methods ineffective. Specialty - God's Judgment (Explained under Jutsus) Nature manipulation: Yin and Yang. Obtained longevity through an extreme form of chakra channeling, promoting quick healing of even the most fatal of injuries [size=1](ch332 p7)[/size]. This ability is inert, inborn, persistent, and Hidan cannot halt its effects. It also allows him to carry out his unique God's Judgment ability. Elemental affinity: Wind. In combination with his scythe, he can moderately increase weapon damage to carve through solid matter (e.g. earth, wood, bones; ch314 p8-9). Taijutsu; swift reflexes, movement speed and agility. This works into his deflection techniques and acrobatic movements. The speed makes up for his average strength. Characteristics Visual Appearance:   Physical Appearance: Fair skinned, tall with a lean athletic build, Hidan stands at six feet with a "pretty boy's" face and and a cocky smirk. His violet gaze is quick to change. Light grey, neck-length hair is combed straight back. Always seen wearing a pendant of his faith, a triangle within a circle, about his neck. Left hand, index finger bears the ring marked "san," meaning "three."  Ritual Form: When performing his God's Judgment technique, his skin turns black with white bone markings across his ribs, spine, arms, and face; resembling that of a skeleton.  Clothing and Armor: The black, high collared coat he wears drapes low, half-opened and is patterned with the notorious red clouds of the Akatsuki. The center of his chest is left bare and exposed. Thick band of his scratched-through hitaite adorns his neck. A large, three bladed scythe is roped to his back. Just beneath his coat and against his waist are two coils of rope, spooled through his left sleeve and attached to his weapon. His pants and ninja shoes are of standard fare; dark blue with white around the lower leg. Personality: Rude, obnoxious, and at times immature; if you hear someone talking loudly and cursing it's probably Hidan. Temperamental and overly self-assured, his arrogance at times borders on carelessness. When it comes to his religion, he is very pious and attempts to uphold its strict rules which include bloody rituals and leaving no opponent alive. His sadomasochistic tendencies can make him very passive in one turn and burst into a violent rage in the next. Most of his life is centered around his faith and worship of Jashin, who he believes is an embodiment of pure chaos. Abhorring the practice of killing for money and money in general, he enjoys killing for the sake of killing and making others "understand" suffering. Leaving an opponent half-dead is something that must be avoided. If he can't make a kill, his religion demands he repents in a ritualistic prayer. This prayer consists of spearing a pike through his heart and laying dormant within the seal of Jashin for about a half hour. Weapons: Weapon Name: Blood Reaver Weapon Description: Three bladed, red scythe with rope attached to the end; kept on his back or in hand Range: Long (w/rope) Short-Mid (w/o rope) Special Abilities (If Any): Can be flung a long distance but at reduced accuracy. Weapon Name: Pike Weapon Description: A black, retractable pike kept hidden in his right sleeve. Range: Short Special Abilities (If Any): Extends to triple its length (max 1.2m) Two medium coils of spooled rope on the left side of his waist 6 standard kunai and 10m of steel wire in a pouch to the right side of his waist Kekkei Genkai: (It is not known if Hidan's immortality is a Kekkei Genkai.) Jutsus Relying heavily on his immortality and specialties, Hidan frequently shuns traditional forms of ninjutsu. However, he has some knowledge of basic academy level techniques (Clone, Replacement, Rope Escape, Transformation, chakra control). Body Flicker Technique (Shunshin no Jutsu) Rank: D Element: None Range: Short Type: Supplementary Effect: Allows the user to appear and disappear in an instant. Useful when trying to escape or attack suddenly. Can use nearby elements, like mist, sand or leaves, to mask their disappearance or appearance. Rappelling Technique (Ayatsuito no Jutsu) Rank: D Element: None Range: Short Type: Supplementary Effect: Wire or rope can be utilized for rappeling or as a method to restrict the movement of an opponent. Astral Projection Rank: A Element: None Range: Self, Long Type: Supplementary With a simple hand seal, this jutsu allows Hidan to project his astral form at one location, regardless of the location of his original body. This spirit form can act in conjunction with other members to do combination jutsu and chakra focusing. Distorts the user's voice. God's Judgment (Kami no Sabaki) Rank: A/S Element: None Range: Self, limitless distance to opponent Type: Offensive, Defensive, and Supplementary Effect: Ingesting the blood of an opponent, Hidan then forms the seal of Jashin (a triangle within a circle) on the ground with his blood. His skin darkens with white bone markings, mimicking a skeleton. After this transformation any injury incurred--whether self inflicted or from an attack--is duplicated on the opponent whose blood was consumed. For this to remain effective Hidan must stand within the borders of the Jashin symbol; if he is forced to move the effect is broken. However, it can be reactivated by standing within the symbol again. From there Hidan is free to strike a fatal blow to himself, favoring a pike through his own chest. Because of his immortality, Hidan will survive while his cursed victim will most likely die. After a successful kill, Hidan will typically complete the technique by keeping the weapon that struck the fatal blow intact and lay still for about a half hour.  Random RP Sample: (I'm flexible in styles.) "Thrill?" he paused to chuckle, "Yeah, I get a thrill out of killing." The normally narrow pupils of his eyes widened, "That's because they're lucky. They're the lucky ones... I can only taste the kind of death they've been given. "Through my rituals, every time I feel it... that same kind of pain they go through. Sometimes I can see myself. In that one moment, that's the thrill, that's what I want, I almost get it." The strength of his voice faded into a whisper. "But in the end, it doesn't happen," He forced a smirk. "I'm still fucking here." "Tch, as far as I'm concerned, I don't owe any person anything." His eyes rolled to look to the side and he rubbed the back of his neck. "He only asked one damn question," he spat loudly. "Seriously, who only asks one damn question? What a waste of time. And that stupid dog," he shook his head. "Freakin' trusting the judgment of a dog, how pathetic. I might as well use my balls as a moral compass." ---- Hidan's heavy eyelids parted and the intense light disturbed his sight. Centered upon a tatami mat he sat upright, spine straight with nothing but a dark red sash over his bare chest. His legs curled inward in a lotus position for a mere fifteen minutes and already he stirred in agitation. "Calm down bullshit," he muttered in futility. He reached for his knife. With its assured weight in his right hand and his left palm outstretched, he plunged the fine tip of the blade directly into the center of his hand. Once the metal butchered between thick belts of tendons, here: this is when the thoughts stopped from competing and only one thing came to mind. The blade that pierced through carried his blood in heavy drops from its point to the floor, and he smeared the red into a small circle. A triangle was then formed within its center to complete the mark of his faith. He withdrew the knife only for more of the blood to spill, which rendered the mark unrecognizable--he made it again, this time larger. After he admired the symbol his eyes closed and he took in a deep breath. With his rosary in his hand he continued his early silent prayer to Jashin. |

It's fine leaving the Kekkei Genkai section empty, but you need to actually list Hidan's abilities somewhere in the allotted character template. And I'll fill you in on Hidan's current situation and history in the RP once you're approved if you are, for now just fill in an interesting and compelling history, just up to before him killing Asuma or whatever his name was.
