Back At The Tree; Jushiro and Kasumi ONLY!!!

He was wonder where she was and why she wasn't there, let alone try to contact him at at. He let out a sigh and laid back on the ground staring up through the tree branches at the sky. The sun was slowly setting and the stars where starting to show in the sky. He closed his eyes and tried to reach her, but to no avail. There had to be something wrong because this is something that she wouldn't do. Or would she? He gave one last sigh and slowly started to drift off.

Posts: 701 Group: Coloholics Veteran Member #1,049 Joined: October 26, 2007	It was not long before Kasumi, hurrying as she could sense the urgency in his calling, arrived outside the 13th Division, instantly spotting her taichou leaning, almost asleep it seemed, against the sakura outside the office. "Ukitake-taichou..." She called to him softly as she approached, kneeling respectfully before him. "...I felt you calling me..." The worry she felt was amplified as she bit her lip nervously waiting for him to speak. There was a foreboding aura she could feel pulling at her mercilessly. "Uki-..." She began before she sighed shamelessly and began again. "'Shiro-san...what is happening? I can feel it...something is not right..."

He brought his hand up and moved a piece of hair from his face. That's when he felt it. The uneasiness that was all around them. "Aizen," he spoke out loud, but not realizing that he did so.

In that moment her blood ran cold, as she felt the accompanying reiatsu...it was all she could do to keep from leaping to her feet and sprinting into the altercation. "A-Aizen?" She asked questioningly, her voice louder than she meant it to be. "...and Tousen..." She added almost silently.

He put his arms on her shoulder and looked her in the eyes, with desperation and worry filling his. If anything happened to her during this battle, he would not be able to forgive himself.

Knowing he was so close, Tousen that is, it was all she could do to keep from running to him without a look back, and falling into his arms; but she knew no matter what...now was not the time, and knew not if it would ever come. "I-I promise 'Shiro..." She said softly. "I promise, just tell me what I must do, I'll follow your order to the end."

You don't know how much that means to me," that's all he could say at that moment. He noticed that her necklace was gone and couldn't help but ask, "Where is the necklace I gave you Kasumi?"

"Shiro I'm sorry, I didn't want to tell you, you did it by accident when-..." She just stopped as she closed her hand around it quickly again and tucked it away. "I'm sorry, I should have...I should have been more careful..."

Chains break all the time," he thought for a second before he knew something that would make her laugh. He dug into he shihakso and pulled out a candy necklace. "Put the pendent on here. Plus," he smiled his famous smile, "if you get hungry, you can eat the candy. Just don't eat the pendent." He gave a laugh and held it out for her to take.

Silly as it looked she liked it, and was glad He wasn't angry with her; even so it was he who broke the chain in the first place. "I'll try not to eat it..." She said with a giggle, as she gave his hand an affectionate squeeze.

Aizen will wait not to find and kill us." He stood up brushing off his shihakso and then offering her his hand.

Reaching out she took her captain's hand and her eyes became downcast. She could feel the ominous power growing in intensity. "You're right..." She said softly, as her other hand wrapped around the hilt of her blade. "I'll stay right beside you, Taichou. I'll fight by your side until the very end..."

If anyone even tries to kill you, I will kill them first." His joking personality was gone, and his fighting spirit was in. The smile on his face had left and it looked like it had never ever been there before. "Hold on tight now." He set his feet and pushed off, shunpoing to the Rukongai area where he felt Aizen and Tousen.
