Lucius Junius Brutus led the revolt that overthrew the last king, Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, after the rape of the noblewoman, Lucretia, a member of Junius Family, at the hands of Tarquin's son Sextus Tarquinius. Brutus was victorious and the people of Rome were so gracious that they declared him the first Counsel. Now Brutus is dead and his son, Tiberius Junius Brutus, heads the family. Over time the family secured the governance of south Italy. The territory is divided into four sub-providences: Bruttii, Lucani, Apuli, Messapii; each is headed by a son of Tiberius. In the capital of Tarentum, Tiberius holds the power over his sons.
