Posts: 3,369 Group: Coloholics Veteran Member #1,273 Joined: December 15, 2007	Name: Toby Whexler Gender: Male Age: 15 Birth Date: April 1st Birthplace: Youswell Current Residence: Central Occupation: Civilian Alchemist History: Toby was born in the mining town of Youswell, but his parents weren't miners, they were successful business people. Married business people. Married business people who's spouses weren't one of said business people. Toby's mother had brown hair and blue eyes, her husband had blonde hair and brown eyes, this baby had its father's features, so she couldn't just take it home and say she had gotten pregnant right before she left. In order to keep their secret, the two secret lovers hid the boy in a coal mine. You may think the story ends here but it doesn't. A coal miner found the boy and took him out of the mine. Then he tried to sell Toby, as his odd features would go for a good price (yes that's right, the miner sold children.). An alchemist was passing through the town, and he saw what the miner was doing, this alchemist's wife wanted children, but could not have them, so he bought Toby and took him into his household. Toby lived his early years happily, with the kind alchemist and his wife taking care of him. It turns out Toby had a talent for alchemy, and his adopted father began teaching him all he knew. It turns out Toby had a special knack for wind alchemy, being able to do it easily, and efficiently. Toby would often entertain his "mother" who was very sickly, by causing cloth to seemingly hover in midair. When Toby was ten, his mother died, leaving his "father" to grieve. And grieve. And grieve. The man began drinking, and he was an angry drunk, add alchemy to that mix, and you have a very dangerous home situation. No one knows exactly when it happened, but Toby soon developed another personality to cope with these beatings, and later this personality became violent and killed his "father". Toby came to his senses holding the knife, blood dripping down the blade. He fell to his knees and cried, he had killed the person who had saved him, he had beat him, sure, but was this any way to show thanks? He vowed to revive his mentor, and left the town, taking the knife and all proof of his existence with him for a mile before throwing the knife into a stream into a stream. He traveled to Central, where he now wanders, trying to figure out a way to revive his mentor. He has a bad murder rep because whenever someone would challenge him in a bar his other side would take over and kill them. One day a young woman told Toby she would give him the materials to revive his teacher, and when he did and went to the other side, the gate children ripped out his vocal cords and adams apple, leaving him unable to speak. He tattooed a transmutation circle on the side of his neck in order fix this, and is now trying to master the art of keeping it activated consistently. Visual Appearance: Physical Appearance: Handsome, tall and slight, but still muscled. Toby has dark green hair and purple eyes with a dark blue ring around each pupil, when in his other personality his eyes become dark blue with a purple ring around each pupil. He has a metal plate in place of part of his neck and a transmutation circle tattooed onto the side of his neck for speech purposes. Clothing and Armor: Black shoes and jeans with a belt that starts near the front and then goes down, tilting slightly around his waist. He wears a green undershirt and a black hoody with a cross design on the left chest side...thing and an odd design on the same side; he wears his hood over his head. (It�s basically the picture but I suck at describing) Personality: Normally a pacifist who refuses to fight, but when challenged his other personality will take over. His other personality is sadistic and horrible, killing his opponent in the most painful way possible and often going after innocent bystanders. Items: A kusarigama (a mini scythe with a ball and chain on the end) that he hides in an inside pocket of his hoody, and a piece of chalk for transmutation circles. Abilities Element-wind. Currently has the ability to create a weak wind. Can minorly affect the weather (move rain clouds and such). Is skilled with his kusarigama. Because he has seen the gate he can use alchemy without a transmutation circle, though he has not found this out yet. He speaks by transmuting the wind into vibrations to speak, but as he is new to this, he has not completely mastered it yet. Goals: To be able to focus wind on the bottom of a board (he'll transmute it from a tree or something later), allowing him to ride it (20th century hover board.) And to be able to concentrate wind around his arm and/or kusarigama, making it a more affective weapon. He is also trying to master the ability to consistently transmute the wind into vibrations, as now his voice sometimes fails him when the circle de-activates.
