As Victoria and James arrived near the small store, they snuck around the back to keep a low profile around the undead. Victoria looked at the single, black, metalic door that was locked at the doorknob. Testing the knob, the silver knob was locked and she had to pull her hand away, since it burnt some to her. She gave a nervous laugh and turned to the skeptic James. "Static, caught me by surprise." A lame excuse, but one she had. Glaring at the inanimate object, she gave the door a good, hard kick which broke the said lock and flung it open. She was just as surprised as James probably was. "....Never knew I had that much anger in me," she said and drew her pistol as she walked through the doorway. She heard James pull out his rifle and follow her as well. Closing the door and barracading it with a few heavy objects, they made their way through the unlit store. Everything was quiet, almost deafening. Stepping up to an aisle, she and James were extremely cautious as they stepped around broken glass from some of the cases that held little knik knaks. |

James switched to his handgun and split up with Victoria. He moved down the rows sweeping them with his flashlight. There was no sign of movement and James could only hear Victoria on the other side of the store. When he'd finished checking his half of the store he holstered his gun and walked back to Victoria. "All clear." He said then added as he glanced at the picked over shelves. "But were not the first ones to find this place. There must be more survivors out there." |

Victoria put her gun away as well and looked into the broken cases. Looking closer at it, she saw dried blood along with what she found as a means of something to break the glass. She shook her head at James' statement and pointed at the small metal rack. "No, this blood is dry, and it looks like a robbery, before all of this happened that is. So.... where is the store clerk if he isn't here?" She questioned quietly as she stood back up. Looking around, she found a door that she missed, the bathrooms. Pulling out her gun once more, she slowly stepped towards the single gray door and tapped it open. She almost screamed in surprise as a bloody, dead looking store clerk pounced on her and made her drop her gun. Holding back the things mouth and teeth, she twisted his head around and with a sickening 'snap,' he was completely dead. Heaving the dead weight off of her, she panted slightly as she held up a thumb, saying it was truely clear. "That was too close for comfort," she mumbled as she picked up her gun and placed it back in her holster. |

The pair walked back to the front of the store. James opened a cooler and grabbed two bottles of water. He tossed one to Victoria and then twisted the cap off his and took a deep drink. The power was still on so it was still cold and James quickly drained the bottle. He set it down on the check out counter and suggested. "I think we should hang out here for a little while. I don't know about you but I'm about to drop." |

Victoria twisted the cap and took a small drink. She dind't need water to survive, she mostly did this for James, but an old habit died hard. Putting the cap back on, She went over to the front door and she opened the front door just a bit, and fired up at the streetlight, just to add some cover against the undead. Closing the front door, she went into the back for a few things, and came out with a lot of broken boards and a large bottle of Gorilla glue. "One way to keep things a bit more... safe around here," she suggested and started to put the boards up against the glass doors, making them stick easily to the metal frame easily. Once the doors were boarded up, she found some rope behind the counter and tied it up, keeping the metal bars together so they wouldn't move, not without either her or James to untie it for survivors. "You just rest, I'll take watch for a while," she said and cocked semi-automatic as she grabbed a chair and placed it near the front desk, closer to the door. James looked as though he was about to argue but she beat him to it. "You're tired, hungry, and depleted of almost all energy. You've been sweating as you've tried to keep up with my fast pace -sorry 'bout that- and both guns may be loaded, but I doubt with the safety one whenever not in use, I don't think you could fire quickly. I'm just saying this, take this offer now," she explained as her eyes softened and turned back to blue once more. |

|
James sat down on a clean spot of the floor near Victoria and leaned against the desk. He closed his eyes and was silent for several minutes. Then without opening his eyes he said. "Tell me out yourself. All I know now is that your a cop and in incredible shape." |

Victoria nearly jumped out of her seat at the sudden request but stayed put and took a breath. She was silent for a long while, thinking things over in her head. She didn't know if she could trust him with that much information on who she was... but he hasn't shot her yet. "Okay.... I guess I'll tell you..." she mumbled out as she placed the semi-automatic on the ground gently, and turned towards the dozing Marine Officer. "Well, for starters, I guess I should start with simple things. I was born here in America, Boston if I recall right, and then moved to London with my parents. My mother died of cancer when I was only 10, and my father was a kind man. When I graduated college, I joined the police force there. After getting fired from there, having a 'weak' will, I moved back here and lived in Raccoon City," she said and took another breath, exhaling and inhaling once more. Now was the more complicated part of her life. "I became a police officer there as well, a S.T.A.R.S officer to be exact. I was ki-..... fired from that job as well, and escaped from the incident unharmed. That's my basic history. Now onto more on my likes, if you wish to hear them," she stated as she leaned her head back onto the wooden boards behind her, her blue eyes looking into the lights above her, which she had to sheild her eyes because they were sensitive. "I like to keep my target in shape so I practice a lot at the local shooting gallery. I keep myself in shape with yoga and a looong jog around town. I like the color blue and keep myself prepared for anything. Some find me paranoid which I'm not," she finished off and waited for him to react. |

James remained silent for a few moments until he was sure she was finished then opened his eyes. He made eye contact with Victoria and said. "We both know all the yoga and jogging in the world wouldn't make it possible for you to run around half the city with a man on your shoulders." In a slow movement James pulled his handgun out and rested it on his leg for a moment and said. "I don't really know what is going on here. I don't know why there are zombies running around trying to eat people but I can't help thinking you've got some connection with it." Raising the gun James quickly ejected the clip and popped out the chambered round. He tossed Victoria the clip and set the gun down on the ground next to his leg. "If what you're hiding puts my life in danger I think I deserve to know what it is." James hopped that the show of trust he'd made might help her trust him. He also hoped he hadn't made a mistake. The rifle was on the counter behind him and he had his knife but she could shot him before he could use either. But he didn't believe she would hurt him. He hoped that she finally trusted him enough to tell the truth because he wanted to stay with her but he decided he'd go his own way if she wasn't honest. |

Victoria bit her lip and set the clip down on the ground. It was a touch decision for her, having kept this secret for over 10 years or so. She had to swallow, which was hard because it was like swallowing a brick but she got it. "It's easier... If I show you..." she said and turned around in her seat and started to undo her shirt. It slid off her body and on her back was a large scar in the shape of an 'X', and various little ones that looked like a flower in dots. At the base of her neck was a tattoo, which had: "409". "I'm experiment 409, created by Umbrella for tactics. I was just about your age when they took me off the streets while I went to go shopping," With the shirt over her chest, she took off her gloves and revealed her burnt hands, old scars and the new one healing a bit fast. "I can't touch silver. For me, It's like grasping a sword that was just pulled out of the furnance and hasn't been put in water," she described and avoided James' eyes, hers clouded with sadness and tears. "I'm basically a B.O.W. made by Umbrella, one that was a failure in the loyalty department," she gave a bitter laugh and set to redress herself, her scared back faced towards James as she let a single, crystal tear fall from her face. |

James felt a brief moment of shock at the scars and then anger at the people that did this to Victoria. During his third year in the Corp he'd been tasked to set up a LAN for a bio research lab so he knew the term B.O.W. but he'd never heard anything about human subjects. What kind of monsters were these Umbrella people? James wondered. Not sure what to say or do James got to his feet and walked around Victoria. He knelt down in front of her and noticed the tear. He reached out gently and wiped it away then said. "I'm sorry for making you remember such a painful experience but thank you for telling me." |

Victoria was in more shock than James at the moment. He.... accepted her. The last people to know of this had kicked her out of the force and called her a monster, a freak. She could have kissed him right then and there, but held that back. Giving him a watery smile, and hugged him quickly and let go, more tears falling from her eyes. "Thank you... for accepting me," she said and finshed the last button, doing her collar piece just right. |

James was too stunned by the hug to react until it was over. He was happy to see that he'd managed to make her feel better. After seeing her tear before he'd felt guilty about upsetting her. "You're welcome." James said on reflex." Standing and moving away so she could finish fixing her shirt. He wondered about her comment about accepting her for a moment and then put it together with how closely she held her secret. It occurred to James that she'd been so hesitant because she was worried that he might treat her like a monster. Wanting to take their minds off the dark business James looked out at the rows of food. "Well lets do a little shopping before we figure out our next move." |

"Why should we when we don't need food to sustain life?" Alucard asked as he snuck up behind the two. He loved to sneak up on people when they least expect it. Wiping off the blood from his hands and face, he gave a toothy grin, showing large fangs. Victoria jumped so high in fright, she tripped over on the chair and landed face first on the ground. "Master!!! God, don't scare me like that!" She exclaimed at the older male, who was laughing at her anger. "How how the hell did you get.... never mind..." she stopped herself from asking that question and realized that he could have just hid in here very very easily. |

Surprised James reached for his gun but his hand slapped an empty holster and he cursed himself for forgetting it. Even when he recognized who had surprised him he still wished he had a weapon. It wasn't that big of a conclusion to jump to that Alucard was some sort of B.O.W. like Victoria but unlike her he did feel danger from the man. Moving so that the counter was between him and Alucard James remained silent letting Victoria deal with him. |

Victoria got up and glared at her Master. She was obviously shorter than him, about a foot or so but she was still fierce. "I've told you once, and I've told you a thousand times, don't sneak up on me!" She said as she shook a gloved finger. His chuckling was getting to her and so she got the one thing she knew he would like. "Here, if you want the bottle, let me have a quick swig then it's yours," she said, took off the cork and took a large gulp and gave the rest to Alucard. Gulping loudly, she wipped away any of the red liquid from around her mouth onto her white glove, which made it bright red, crimson. "Danka," he said and took a swig himself, letting the liquid fall from the corners of his mouth and down his chin. Giving a gasp of satisfaction, he corked it and licked the rest of the drink from around his mouth. "That was very... enjoyable..." he said as he put the bottle back down. Victoria sighed and placed the now half empty bottle in her bag once more and turned to James. "Well, as Master said... both of us... don't exactly need food to survive really," she said as she gave a nervous shuffle of her foot. What was in the bottle was enough to make them be called monsters, demons, vampires, all of that and much more. "And just to confirm this, flesh is a no no with us," she said and she made a gagging sound and a disgusted face. |
