The Russian Empire looks to expand her influence in Europe and invades the fertile steppe of the Ukraine. The Principality of Ukraine is outraged by this action, but isn't surprised. Kiev (Ки́ев), the capital is fortified and well supplied. The Ukrainians are solid in their defense of the city. -Russians have yet to scout, but the Ukrainians' advanced system of towers and watches have spotted the enemy and have given the leaders in Kiev a good estimate of the enemy numbers. -The Artillery Battery over looking the battlefield will play a prominent role in the Ukrainians Defensive Plan.

Ukraine's 2nd Corps surrenders to the Russians against the will of their commanders. Ukraine's 1st Corps fortifies Kiev and the Artillery Battery begins to pound the 1st Corps while the Russian cavalry begins to engage the troops defending the Battery. The Russian Cavalry is beaten off by the Ukrainian infantry. The Riflemen form squares around their artillery with bayonets fending off the horses. The Russian find that they cannot force their horses into the forest of sharp knives and retreat taking some casualties. Again the commander of the Russian Cavalry charge the infantry squares, and again he is forced to fall back. The lack of communication and the ill determination of the Russian Captain cause even more casualties in the cavalry, finally they retreat back to the rest of the 1st Corps. But instead of moving north of the lake they retreat to the south of it and are peppered again by shots from the fortified 1st Corps in Kiev. The Russian Casualties: 9,032 Hussars of the 1st Corps, from failed attempted to take the Artillery Battery 1,530 Dragoons of the 1st Corps, from failed attempted to take the Artillery Battery 120 Riflemen of the 1st Corps, from artillery barrage 240 Grenadiers of the 1st Corps, from artillery barrage The Ukrainian Casualties: The entire 2nd Corps surrenders to the Russians 3,503 Riflemen of the Artillery Battery, from defending it from the Russian Cavalry

(OOC:I should’ve put everything in from the start) Russia will send in it's 4th Corps, they will enter the battlefield from the north on the same side of the lake as the Artillery Battery. 4th Corps: Infantry 100,000 Riflemen Cavalry 10,000 Hussars 10,000 Dragoons 10,000 Lancers 1st Corps Cavalry will return to the main body of 1st Corps. 1st Corps Artillery will bombard Kiev's city walls blasting a large breach for the infantry to assault the city. 10,000 Riflemen & 2000 Hussars from Russia's 2nd Corps will guard the disarmed Ukrainian prisoners as they are led from the battle into captivity. The main body of Russia's 2nd Corps will move onto Kiev, 2nd Corp's Artillery will also bombard the city walls once the 2nd Corps has also blasted a large breach. They will launch a co-ordained assault with 1st Corps on Kiev, outnumberd and attacked from two directions the defenders should be overrun. Russia's 3rd Corps will move to destory the Ukrainian Artillery Battery, with odds of over 10-1 in their favor and heavy Artillery support, should allow the 3rd Corps should crush the Artillery Battery's defending Riflemen easily. Then overrun the guns themselves. |

At the sight of Russian's 4th Corps the Artillery Battery turns in open retreat for the City. Massive chaos ensues and Ukraine's commanders cannot organize their men and they run right into the 3rd Corps that was advancing on them. The result is a massacre the Russian 1st Corps slay all of the remnants of the Battery. Finally the Ukrainian guns from within their fortifications fell silent. The Russians had blown their first wall down and the inner wall around the palace was about to fall. The Russians stopped their guns, the job done, and prepared to take the walls with their infantry. Then a drum rings out a boy comes out of the rubble of the collapsed wall, a man with a white flag following. Ukraine wishes to surrender. |

The massed ranks of the Russian 1st Corps forlorn hope (the poor guys who are in the first wave of the assault) part and a Russain officer rides forth. ''We accept your surrender, the defenders of Kiev will lay down their arms and the people of Ukraine will swear fealty to the Tsar of all Russia.'' As the officer speaks these words the nearby Russian solders erupt into cheers of victory and no small amount of relief now they know they no longer have to assault the city. |

Another man stepped out of the hole after the Russian Officer spoke, "Good, we did not know you craved our land so." and he cocked his head in the direction of the 4th Corps of in the distance. "Unfortunately I, Marshall Viktor Yushchenko, here by surrender the remnants of my army and the city of Kiev to the Tsar of Russia... all of Ukraine surrenders." With that he slowly pulled out his sword and handed it over to the Russian Officer whom he had surrendered to. Thus all the territories of Ukraine and the Crimea shall be at the disposal of the Russian Empire. |

The officer took the sword from Marshall Yushchenko and inclined his head. ‘’Of course we want this land, Kiev was the birthplace of Rus culture, and the site where our people first embraced Christianity. These are Russia’s ancestral lands and now they are ours once more’’ ''The Kievite Rus and the Muscovite Rus are now a united people once more under the leadership of our great Tsar'' At mention of the Tsar all the Russian solders within earshot bowed their heads respectfully. |
