Posts: 805 Group: Coloholics Elite Member #1,654 Joined: January 31, 2008	Confedeation of the Salish-Shoshone Flag Leader Chief: Hyuk Mahkook Government: Confederacy Economy 3rd tier History: The confederation formed in 600 AD as a way of increasing trade links among various coastal tribes. As they elaborated on their trade networks inward, they would come into conflict with other tribes who retained control over the land they were on. These tribes would eventually be defeated, and the leaders would end up sending delegations to represent their individual tribes. Then around 1100 or so, a drought would cause mass starvation among tribes such as the Nez Perce in the drier plateau regions. Increased raiding by these tribes eventually led to a series of punitive expeditions which tested the strength of the confederation. But eventually, the richer coastal tribes won out, and they would claim the land by the Columbian River extending to the Wallowa Mts. They would clash several more times through the 12 and 1300s. Finally, a rise in desire for certain jewely and fish would eventually cause some of the eastern tribes like the Shoshone, Nez Perce, and Northern Paiute to forge stronger trade links. The increasing mercantlism of merchants born on the west coast and in the western valleys would lead them to establishing a sort of economic authority on the eastern tribes, who could trade extra animal skins. The whole thing would lead to a trade union in 1386, in which all tribes from Britsh Columbia to central Idaho acceded to a central trade command to deal with trade throughout the region. It would become political in 1413, when raids by the Shasta and southern Paiute tribes helped the chiefs to pool their resources. These continued raids led to the permanant formation of the current confederation. Major Cities: Musus Dabai Baa' Population: 5,000,000 Military: e difficult in the face of united opposition. It was largely thanks to his fatehr that the Northen Paiute joined the SS confedration. Now he seeks to keep the peace in his land, and if necessary, go to war against hated enemies.

Posts: 805 Group: Coloholics Elite Member #1,654 Joined: January 31, 2008	The Salish-Shoshone confederation is entering talks with the natives to the north of them, stretching from the Gulf of Alaska for them to join the confederation. When complete, trade should boom with the Far East.
