History
The history of Central Asia is defined by the area's climate and geography. The aridness of the region made agriculture difficult and its distance from the sea cut it off from much trade. Thus few major cities developed in the region; instead the area was for millennia dominated by the nomadic horse peoples of the steppe.
Central Asia has long been a strategic location merely because of its proximity to several great powers on the Eurasian landmass. The region itself never held a dominant stationary population, nor was able to make use of natural resources. Thus it has rarely throughout history become the seat of power for an empire or influential state. Much like Poland throughout European history, Central Asia has been divided, re-divided, conquered out of existence, and fragmented time and time again. Central Asia has served more as the battleground for outside powers, than as a power in its own right.
Central Asia had both the advantage and disadvantage of a central location between four historical seats of power. From its central location, it has access to trade routes to and from all the regional powers. On the other hand, it has been continuously vulnerable to attack from all sides throughout its history, resulting in political fragmentation or outright power vacuum
In the post-Cold War era, Central Asia was an ethnic cauldron, prone to instability and conflicts, without a sense of national identity. The central Asian republics were split by ethnic strife, and border conflicts corrupt incompetent governments, and political domination by nearby powerful countries.
Despite this a few years ago one the President of Uzbekistan proposed a co-operative union between the central Asian states, following an EU like modal. This was agreed to. Increasing global instability and the presence of powerful states on their borders, forced the CA republics to form a much stronger Union than was originally envisaged.
There was trouble ahead though, a group of radical Maoist/agrarian communist insurgents backed by the PRC, launched a rebellion. The Central Asian armies riven by ethnic and factional infighting could offer little resistance to the well-armed, Chinese trained rebels. And Chinese support for the insurgency made it impossible for the Central Asian military to effectively counter it
Within months the rebel forces held vast areas of the Central Asia under its full control, within two years the entire Central Asian Union was in rebel hands. And they began to reform the country according to their radical agrarian communist ideals. Their brutal rule has stifled any ethnic and religious schisms, the cost has been murderously high as tens perhaps hundreds of thousands ‘’undesirables’’ have been executed. Leading many people to conclude the ruling party of The Great Central Asian Union, is some sort of new Khmer Rouge.

Negro please.

Pimped up your thread a bit and added you to the map, you just need to add a Leader and Flag...and when you're done with editing those two parts in, don't forget to make your Embassy and check out the UN. ;)
