PWNZED BY BREATH ATTACK!

For most of the Sky Elves that make their home here in Ardenvaal, The core is where the liferoot of their people is believed to be. At the center of every Ardenthor is a spirit of a fallen Sky Elf, who's quest is to reach for the sky, and touch with the Sun. With each spirit, A new Ardenthor is birthed, and a new life for A Sky Elf begins as they become one with Nature and start a new cycle of their neverending journey.

They say that the Ardenthor where Ardenvaal started upon is the spirit of the first High Elf who brought his people to this serene and inoccuous place, where nothing could touch them. And here, spreading out onto other Ardenthors, Ardenvaal's Core insures the safety of its people.

But the Core of Ardenvaal was not looking pristine. Ardenvaal seemed to be shrouded in mists and heavy fogs lately, which was not uncommon, but for the dry season, it was unnatural. The Core did not look as healthy as it used to.

To get an idea of what an Ardenthor looks like, imagine cutting down a tree somewhere near its stump. then, hollow out the center of it and fill it with soil. Now, grow some herbs in that soil, and after a while, the tree stump looks looks like its growing a small forest on top. Multiply the size of this stump by a couple of hundred, and duplicate this stump a couple thousand, maybe a million times, and you get the Ardenthor forest.

The Core of each Ardenthor is its second life-cycle, as it grows a massive central tree-like limb that feeds the flora and fauna atop of its wooden plateau. Imagine seeing a bud growing out of the center of a tree-stump. Same idea. This "Core" then brings up nutrients from the nutrient-rich earth and feeds itself along with the other smaller trees and shrubbery that grows upon it. Ultimatley, you get minature forests growing atop a much massive forest of tree stumps.

Here, at Ardenvaal's Core, the magicks of the native Faerie Dragons and the Sky Elves helped shape the woods into a governor's villa that was supposed to signify its oneness with the city as well as its people. But alas, that oneness has started to fade. It's an earthen plaza of stone and wood, where the citizens gather to hear about the new laws of the land each and every week. It's a center of listening to the new "Trade" and the new peoples that pass through this strange and wonderful town, bringing in foreign goods and plagued materials. The Sky Elves were happy by themselves, But Sek'Thelia Oravinea feels that Ardenvaal should reach out to the other cities with open arms and an open mind. And here, another meeting was called.

Sek'Thelia stood at an open window of his villa, and spoke to the hundreds of citizens gathered there that day.

"My fellow peoples! This previous night, an attempt at my life was made! Have I not brought you prosperity? Wealth? Good Health? And yet, one of our own kind made an attempt at my life. I don't feel I'm a bad person! I've tried my hardest to make Ardenvaal as beautiful and wonderful as it is today. And it pains me that I must make an example of its people."

A Scalamb was rolled towards the front of the mob, and then raised with rope for all of the onlookers to see.

"It truly does pain me... This man here was captured outside of the villa, with weapon in hand and a gaze that would've froze a stag in its tracks. For this outrage, this man must be punished."

A silent crowd stood onlooking at the man, as a hushed whisper creeped its way among the people. Sek'Thelia calmed the crowd down, then spoke words.

"Is there one among you today that believes otherwise?"

You can post in Ardenvaal now. :p

Negro please.

Leviticus sneered.
"I certainly care about myself more than imbecile elves and cliched political propaganda ... I had a promising feeling about you earlier Traveanduri, but it's quickly diminishing as I see you surrounded by sycophants and fools. I thought to myself, 'Hmm, I'll give this babe a hand, tag along, this looks like a worthy cause.' But more and more, not necessarily your fault, more and more I see this as a bunch of people talking down to me and childish rhetoric. Now I respect you, but I would warn your friends...Tell them: Don't trifle with me. I may have a reputation for being an incoherent drunk, but that's only because I'm relaxed around my friends enough to act irresponsibly. No one else has seen any other side of me because I kill my enemies and those who irritate me without mercy or trouble. If you're all seeing me as an idiot drunk, that's why you're alive. My alcohol tolerance is resoundingly high anyway."
He then eyed Traulinosth, swigging his drink.
"You should be lucky I brought you here in the first place, you pitiful fool. Who do I think you fools are, you ugly wretch of an elf? Enemies of the state, at least in the eyes of some, and one word and you'll all be imprisoned and executed. I've been having fun with you lot for the time being, but the ground rules have been 'Don't irritate or talk down Leviticus, or he kills you or sends you to the dogs.' Get it?"
He smirked, ordering another drink heartily, though he seemed fall from drunk at this point. His tone had suddenly changed from malicious mercilessness to the voice of the cheerful village drunk, another clean switch.

I've got a Ph.D in kicking your ass.

Leviticus was not the only one who had made a clean switch. Ryu's tone had changed from calm to very irritated, and challenging.
"You endangered the cause before purely out of idiocy, or perhaps mere ignorance and arrogance, but now you endanger it out of malice, and retribution?! One who would betray his commrades has NO honor, and does not deserve to be part of this quest!" Ryu stared down at Leviticus, eyes narrowed. More calmly, he began again.
"Nobody deserves death or incarceration, but more and more it would appear one of them is required to ensure we go undetected."

Kaworu's eyes suddenly widened in anger and exertion, putting a good deal of spiritual power and physical strength into himself as he slammed his spear shaft vertically forward against Jeff's locked blade to send him back.

"And you would give your life for such a meaningless task? Delaying me will not halt my goals."

Yes, I fought Kaworu. And I lived.[RPGData:10005|9|28|56|3|3|482|222|Dragon Sword|Dragon Armor|Dwarf|40551|None|None|134|6|1|0|None|NaN|None|The Klu Klux Klan]

Negro please.

Leviticus laughed in Ryu's face, staring right at him with a domineering skill.
"Save me your idiotic eastern philosophical cliches. If I wanted to hear a mountain monkey rave about childish things like concepts of honor or 'the cause', I'd go directly to whatever backwater town of barbarians and fighters you originated in."
He smirked, drinking calmly.
"Besides, I'm surprised you're still alive with such prehistoric ideas. Man is change, adaptation. If you're still struck by ideas of 'honor' and 'great causes', I hope you're in some children's academy...When you have a knife in your back for defending your honor, I'll be laughing in the back. Honor, truth, the cause, all are mere subjective concepts that have no base in the concept of existence...except for the concepts of life and death. When you're dead, you're dead. It doesn't matter how you died or if it was honorable if you're dead. Make sure not to cross me, or you may find yourself homesick from this existence."
He shrugged.
"Anyway, I think these raving elves were ranting on something before you so rudely interrupted. Let's let these old farts proceed."

PWNZED BY BREATH ATTACK!

Traveanduri lowered her head, then nodded to Huareleon.

"I'm sorry, Leviticus. You are more a danger to us than a village drunk..."

Leviticus didn't know where it had come from. Something sharp, small, hit his neck, and before he knew it, a dizzying feeling came over him. Huareleon had compensated for the elf's high alcohol tolerance, and added a double dose to his tranquilizer. The poison moved through Leviticus' body like a wild fire, his skin burning, itching, and then finally, darkness.

Your quest will continue in the Waterglades.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Ryu watched as Leviticus toppled over from his chair. The move was so well-done, it was like nothing had happened at all. As Leviticus was taking a swig of his spirits, Huareleon lifted something up from a hidden pocket and sent a small dart of some sort into the brash Sky Elf's neck. Leviticus reached for the dart, and was about to say something, but the tranquilizing poison was too strong. He had just enough energy to put his glass on the table before falling to the floor.

Traveanduri apologized to the staff for their incoherent companion, and had two of the other Resistance members drag him outside. She looked to the others, and decided that for the time being, the best idea would be to get a move on.

"I agree, milady. What should we do with our 'drunkard'," asked Yuri, who was gathering personal affects from the table.

"We'll take him with us. Hopefully, Huareleon put enough bite into his little dart."

"I wouldn't worry about that, Traveanduri." Huareleon smiled. "Considering how much the man was drinking, I figured he would have a high tolerance to poisons. His last 'drink' would've been equivalent to about, say, three bottles of hard liquor?"

Traveanduri nodded to Huareleon. "I'm sorry it had to come to this, Leviticus." The small faerie dragon, who had become so fond of Leviticus, swarmed around his head.

"SQUEEE? RAWK RAWR RAWK!" Why? He was only protecting himself!

Traveanduri held out a hand to the faerie dragon who landed upon it. "I'm sorry little one. He's too much of a threat to our purpose. If you want, you may stay with him."

The little dragon flew off towards the plastered Leviticus while Huareleon approached Ryu. "Sometimes, we must make examples like Sek'Thelia, if we are to prove a point, Ryu. Now, as for your enchantment..."

Ryu has gained "Elvenshift." This ability allows Ryu to change from his human form to sky elf at his own discretion.

"Let us go. I promise you more will be revealed to you, Ryu, and your importance to us."

Quest will Proceed in "Central Plaza"
