I felt like seeing what everyone's top ten favorite albums ever were...If you can't rank them or pick only ten, go ahead and just list your favorite albums like I am. I probably missed a shitload: "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill"- Lauryn Hill "Joshua Tree"- U2 "Zooropa"- U2 "Pop"- U2 "Achtung Baby!"- U2 "Revolutionary Volume 1"- Immortal Technique "Revolutionary Volume 2"- Immortal Technique "A Healthy Distrust"- Sage Francis "Personal Journals"- Sage Francis "Labor Days"- Aesop Rock "Bazooka Tooth"- Aesop Rock "Paul's Boutique"- The Beastie Boys "Shadows of the Sun"- Brother Ali "August & Everything After"- Counting Crows "Devil's Night"- D12 "A Grand Don't Come For Free"- The Streets "2001"- Dr. Dre (An unbelievably, legendarily kickass album. "Hail To The Thief"- Radiohead "Nevermind"- Nirvana "The Marshall Mathers LP"- Eminem "Hybrid Theory"- Linkin Park "The Score"- The Fugees "You Know What It Is Vol.3"- The Game (Technically a mixtape, but it still counts.) Weird Al Yankovic -- Poodle Hat, in all honestly this is one of Weird Al's best albums and one of them that I enjoy a lot. It has a certain flair to it, and the parodies and originals are all greatly done and creative. My favorite track off the album is probally either: Party at the Leper Colony or Genius in France. Testament -- Souls Of Black, lovely Thrash Metal from Bay-area band Testament. All the songs are composed well, and I like how the vocals are done on this album compared to The Legacy. Mmmm. Favorite track off the album is: Seven Days Of May. Sabaton -- Attero Dominatus, Attero! Dominatus! Berlin is Burning! I love this album by Heavy/Power Metal outfit, Sabaton. The lyrics are simply great, the songwriting is what I love most about this band. The focus on the battle of D-Day is Epic in Attero Dominatus. They also have the song about Bin Laden, "In the Name of God" which clearly depicts him as a Coward. Great songwriting, and Guitar composition is lovely. Metal Crüe is also great for a random song off the album. With it clearly jsut mentioning a bunch of Rock and Metal pioneers. My favorite track off the album is: Metal Crüe. Kansas -- Leftoverture, CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON!! Enough of fanboyism, though. I love this album, if not even just for having one of the greatest Progressive Rock ballads of all time. Other songs such as The Wall, Questions of My Childhood, and What's on My Mind are great. Guitar and Organ composition is great throughout the album, and the vocals are perfect. My favorite track is: Carry On Wayward Son. Green Day -- Nimrod, it's all about Mike. The Bass Guitar is wodnerful on this album. But as Green Day is known. All it is, is simple chord progressions; basic drumming, and backing bass. But the Bass is much better from what Ive heard on any other album. And I love it. So many good tracks from this album. My favorite track is: Hitchin' A Ride. Foo Fighters -- The Colour and the Shape, lovely album. I like Dave Grohl's singing and guitar composition on this album. The palm-muting and quick progressions to clean, ripping cords is greatly timed. The backing Bass, Drums, and such is great. But the main focus is Grohl. And he definitively shows himself off. Fuck Nirvana. Dave Grohl is much excellent in Foo Fighters. My favorite track off this peice is: Monkey Wrench. Blackalicious -- Blazing Arrow, man. Do I love a good Political and Controversial Rap album. And Blackalicious delivers. Definitely showing their 2pac influence while keeping the artist's way to deliver fast and powerful lyrics. All the tracks are great. My favorite track on this one is: Sky is Falling. Axel Rudi Pell -- Kings And Queens, welcome to the world of Heavy Metal. Axel Rudi Pell keeps delivering with the Iron Maiden-inspired sound that he has given you for years. This band fronted by Axel Rudi Pell is great, and this would be my favorite album by them. The keys, guitars, and vocals are great. The backing instruments bringing that feel. And the lyrics just as great as Maiden themself. My favorite track is: Flyin' High. Iron Monkey -- Our Problem, oh. Oh Iron Monkey, and your Sabbath-inspired Sludge/Death Metal style. How I wish you never broke up. This album is great with nice Sludgey and well composed riffs. If you can get past the low-quality growls its a good album. One of my favorites for the riff work more than anything else. My favorite track off this is: Supagorgonizer. Warren Zevon -- Excitable Boy, yes. We will miss you Warren. Your Folk Rock tunes were greatly composed and your songwriting was fucking brilliant. With so many classics on this album, I really can't say how much I love this album. It's a great album. My favorite track on this one is either: Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, Werewolves of London, or Accidentally Like a Martyr. Subway to Sally -- Hochzeit, one of my favorite STS albums. I love their mix of Progressive Metal, Folk Metal, and Ambiance. The guitar composition and atmosphere is great. My favorite track off this has to be: Ohne Liebe. Rammstein - Herzeleid, one of Rammstein's best... and their first. I love the energy and minor Industrial overtones in this album. The band has never ceased to amaze me, and I really... really love this album. Fav. track is probally: Herzeleid. Racer X -- Superheroes, the latest from Racer X; and lovely Speed Metal at that. The tracks are energetic and great. Created by Neo-classical guitarist Paul Gilbert to outdue Motorhead in their own genre. Well, not really. But they do it. I love quite a few tracks. Favorite would be either: Godzilla or Viking Kong. Epica - Consign To Oblivion, Symphonic-Gothic Metal yay! I love this album, the composition and symphonic feel is orgasmic. Fuck, Evanescence... Epica is where it's at. The atmosphere is perfect, and I really like the guitar composition as usual. I think I drooled once. Fav. track off it is: The Last Crusade (A New Age Dawns Part 1). And that's just 14 of some of my favorite albums. Ill add more later, I guess. |
