Smoke coughed into the audience at the front few seats, obviously a slight tech hitch from one of the roadies. However, the stage was ever spectacular and had been dimly lit in a cosmic blue. Cymbals were being hauled from the centering drum kit aswell as guitars and basses being switched with others. The next band was yet to appear which gave people time to fork out more money for drinks, an essential accessory for the sets. James was dressed in an tattered black sweater which was slightly oversized and cut off around his knuckles. In his hands, he held both a setlist and pint glass of Guiness. The landlady was rarely present and had named all members of staff supervisors which meant, to the barmen, anyone was of age. That made this place a favourite for local students, he could tell that from the prices alone. After taking in the atmosphere, James had found his way to the bar and taken a seat. A passed out drunk sat three seats away, his head stuck to the bartop by saliva. "Should lay off those shady cocktails. You'll crap like a horse next morning." He mumbled at him, and waved at the barman to attend to the man. |

Veronica sauntered into the club. She had stopped to say hi to Duke at the bar and thus was running a little late. Another year and another party, Veronica breathed in the sweet smell of cherry that was emitted from the fumes of the thick smoke now settling in the room. Eyes wandering over the sweaty people that had already been busy dancing in the crowded room. After doing a quick observation she found that most of the girls she normally danced with were no where to be found, causing a slight pout on the creamy face. Ruby lips becoming fuller than before. With a heavy sigh the slender girl continued to walk through the crowd. Stiletto heals clicking beneath her seeming to drown out discussions of people she passed. Wild blonde curls bounced around behind her and off her shoulders as her hips swayed with her walk. With a tight corsett top of black and red, and a black skirt she seemed pull off a certian look with some. Though she wore it for the feel and texture and the fact it accented all of her favorite assets. Making her way to the bar, slowly taking a seat between the passed out drunk and another guy she looked to the bar tender. The once ruby pout was now in a sweet and alluring smile. Sapphire eyes shining as she waited for him to wait on her. As he did she ordered a simple mixed drink of seven and seven. Not her favorite but it'd do in a place like this. As she spun around in the chair her eyes looked swiftly at the boy next to her. It was then the next band was making there way to the dance floor. As there was no one here she knew, it was likely she'd never see him again either. Body turning to the guy next to her, hair whipping behind her, she merely tilted her head and made sure he could tell she was looking directly at him. "Care to dance" Her voice soft, like a whisper as she looked at him directly. Legs crossed in his direction as she waited for him to answer her. |

James ran his tongue along the edge of a cigarette paper, peering up with a slight squint. The stage lights cast over the features of his face aswell as the girls slender frame and the playing band. He considered her offer then glanced over at the floor, noting the sweaty and cramped students that had flooded it. Finally he replied, shuffling calmly as he gestured at the crowd. "Within the first songs of the set you'll be drenched in beer and sweat. There's also a metal head over there who's groping you with his eyes. If you want that skirt to stay intact you ought to sit this one out." That wasn't supposed to be condescending, dollface. He kicked out a chair, nodding towards it for her to take a seat. He had no idea where she had entered from since the front entrance had been pouring out people for the last half hour and although he'd had no intention of conversing, the sound of a gentle voice wasn't unwelcome. "James Seigerson." |

*Sam stayed in the shadows. Away from everyone else. Being alone has been some thing she was been use to for a good while now. Talking to others is something she is not use to. She decided to walk around just to see what this place was like* |

She watched idly as his tongue slid over the paper, the saliva melting over as the paper became damp and sticky. Her eyes turned watching the bartender bring her drink. Carefully taking a sip from the straw she put the glass back down. Pulling from her skirt a small pouch that seemed to not be there before she gave him a few knuts and sickles. Her eyes then went back to the boy who finally decided to speak to her. Lips curling out of sheer amusement and interest. Sapphire eyes following the direction James was looking to find the man he was referring to. Slowly she made her way closer to James before she finally took a seat. Pushing down her skirt so it wouldn't ride up and give everyone a show. Her tongue snaked out licking her upper lips gently as if to rewet the gloss that was already upon her puffy lips. Her eyes now firmly on James. "A pleasure, the names Veronica" She said softly, not one to divulge her last name to a perfect stranger. |

"Well, Veronica. I'll take a guess and assume you aren't a smoker, though if you are help yourself to my pack of Lucky Strike. They cost me my left ball and taste like shit." He groaned, pushing the packet into her sight. He wasn't big on manners, as if it really mattered. If people didn't lie so well there'd be a lot more profanity in casual conversation anyway He rolled the tobacco and paper off his fingers, creating a fresh cigarette. When he looked around again the girl had already taken up the offer of his fine company and settled into her drink. He began to wonder wether or not he was supposed to pay for it or not. It wasn't a matter of putting drinks on his tab since the chances of the bar giving credit to anyone even bluecollars was extremely slim. Again he reminded himself he wasn't here to socialise, simply mingle. A small hint of a smile washed over his face as he pointed at his wallet. "I know I declined your offer of dancing but you might get a drink out of me later on. Think of it as compensation." |

"Actually I prefer cloves but thanks" She said simply, not one to worry about such things as money. There just never seemed a reason for her to worry. Eyes watched him again and she gave a half hearted smile and shook her head. "You don't need to by me a drink. I've already paid" She raised her eyebrows looking away. Apparently not as observent as I thought. Did he think I was giving him the knuts and sickles...I think not. Once again sipping on her drink. She had no place to carry her cloves and thus did without. It wasn't like she needed them at all times, just the occasional fix. Her eyes continued to watch him play with the fag. Wondering if he was going to smoke it or pray to it with the way he acted it was precious gold. Another amused smirk crossed her lips. "So you came to just listen to the bands?" |

He looked slightly amused and also annoyed by the girl and decided to play the ironic idiot. And you just came to socialise? No. You're here for the intellectual values the drinkers carry, right? He then noticed the impatient look on her face as she waited for him to light his cigarette and did so. "Not entirely. I came to drink too." There was a short silence between them until he exhaled, then he continued. "After this fantastic gathering of talent, I plan on stumbling back to the academy in an extreme state of intoxication." He looked her over and explained the location of it. "It's not far from this part of the town. Within walking distance." |

"Bars can offer both, so why come to a club and not dance. Or do you prefer a different type then myself" Raising an amused brow she waited. Not one to beat around the bush she continued to sip the drink generously. Knowing with the liveliness of her companion she'd need to have a few more. As he spoke of Collingwell she turned to him. "I know where it is, I go there myself. Oh the binge drinker? Or just like to get shit faced every now and again?" Biting her bottom lip so she wouldn't throw in a retort of his sheer lack of sense she leaned back on the seat that she was now comfortably sitting in. Lips curling slightly as she nodded to the bartender that took up the money that laid before her and pocketed his tip. |

"It all depends on who is escorting me home and how heavy he or she is. I've gone home with many a burly women soully so I could drink as much as required. Call it a nervous twitch, not alcoholism." He replied lazily. He quite enjoyed the insulting twists in her conversation and wondered if she'd allow him any more. I'm gonna enjoy this one. What a fucking riot. "If you came here to dance, surely you'd lay off the spirits. You don't want to trip in those pretty shoes. Or perhaps you're hoping that I carry you home and not the other way around." |

"I see" She looked at him with that same amused look. Finding it interesting that he'd choose to just go home with anyone she shook her head. "First, I know how much I can handle. Second I know how to dance in heals" She said softly lips curling at the edges into a smirk. Looking at him and then back to her drink that she sipped at once again leisurally. Her amused look transformed to a small frown. "No I am not hoping that. I barely know you. You think I just let anyone take me home...well I don't." Downing her drink she ordered another and slowly glanced back to James. "So are you a student?" |

"Don't get upset. You don't fit the profile anyway." He looked behind her at the fourth set, subconsciously hoping she'd noticed his rudeness and would react to it. She seemed to have flushed slightly, either from lack of civility or the alcohol. Both of them knew if the janitor were to catch the scent of alcohol from their breath, they'd both be out. Therefore, she needed his confidence as much as he did hers. "Anyway, if we both go back wrecked, how is that going to look? Your ass would be out quicker than mine since you're smaller and female. You're pretty fucked without my arm to hold you up, Roni" |

She watched his eyes carefully but was more interested with what he had to say at the moment. Intrigued that she didn't fit his certain profile. She merely looked back to the new drink, sipping at this new one that packed a much bigger punch. Finding it intriguing that the liquid was supposed to taste better with time, she figured the bartender made this one with more alcohol then the sevenup. Looking back to James, she clenched her jaw and pursed her puffy lips. "What makes you think I'll be out? Or that I need your arm for help" Raising a thin eyebrow she finally turned her head to see what was so amusing behind her. "What are you looking at? Someone that does fit the so called profile" Her voice a bit more snappish then before. |

He bit back a grin and watch her facial expressions dance across her face as she spoke. She seemed tormented by the thought of competition. Perhaps she wasn't as laid back as she looked and was quite concerned about public opinion instead. Even so, she did hide well. She seemed to have the upper hand until her third drink. She smelled as heavily of alcohol as he now. Her lips were lined with the spirit until James collected it with his middle finger. "I already told you I'm not here on the pull. If I were, we wouldn't be sitting together having this talk, would we?" He gave her a moment to reply whilst flagging the bartender for another of the same. |

Veronica eyes went slightly wide watching his finger as if in slow motion, wipe her puffy lips clean of the drink. Glazed eyes looked at him and then away. Her lips curling freely. "Tell me Seigerson what house are you in?" Slowly she nibbled on her bottom lip while looking at him. She sipped at her third drink trying to make this one last. Though as she watched the next band switch out from the last, her nose curled making a small twitching expression. They seemed to have stunk up the whole place and were quickly causing people to leave. Though she honestly paid no attention to the time, she had come to dance and already had downed two drinks like it was nothing. She knew the end of this one would make her unable to dance, as the tilt would soon be in her step. |
