The one that got away!

What car had you the money for, should you have bought and what made it cool?

Mines a lime coloured 1970's BMW 2002 alpina with a race engine (193 bhp I think), 0-60 in 5.8 secs. As rare as hens teeth.
This was the car that they based the M3 on.

Went to view it in cork about 4 years back.
Took a video of it at the time, might try to find it.

- 88 mk2 GTi for £250 6years ago when i was saving for deposit for house. White wee bumper, needed front springs or shocks, but was a real nice tight car!
- 85 MG Metro, was very clean, metallic blue, had the chance of it for free but no room as I'd just bought a MK5 Cortina (should really have made room!!)

Something similar but without the rare and the race engine :)

This is a 2002 tII that my dad has.

He restored it for a customer about 10 years back but it has been sitting outside for a good few years now. We bought it when the guy moved abroad. The vinyl roof went to bits but it is running.

Would look cool with the turbo kit on it, might be one for the future

Always wished i had bought a 190 mercedes cosworth especially in black . I had a std 2.0 190 years ago when mercedes really were wonderfully engineered, doors shut with a big heavy thud. To have a 2.3 or 2.6 cossie would have been just the thing .

A couple of cars spring to mind.. an early skyline GT-B (60's) it was a straight rust free shell with a load of parts (possibly enough to build several cars) didn't have the time nor the know how in those days to put it all together.

The other would be an E30 Hartge Touring (genuine built, not converted) with 90,000miles one owner! for £500 more than I paid several weeks earlier for my Touring which had the conversion done by Birds UK! Not that I paid loads for mine just the genuine one was a steal!!

The Skyline well that would be worth a small fortune now even if it was still in bits in the parents garage in OZ!

I remember a black one when i was an Queens yonks ago, had black heneka 5spokes, blacked out rear lights and indicators and heavily tinted windows, superb looking car that looked like it should have been chasing James Bond! :D

Mine althiugh this probably is the wrong place to say it, was a black series2 rs turbo escort, or a mk3 escort xr3. Another one was a Talbot sunbeam, but I think I might know where there is one, already half turned into a rally car, has been sitting for a few years, hopefully its not too bad
