Beginning As a kid, I once killed two magistrate with two well placed rocks. Normally I would have been killed but my natural skills persuaded the officials to look the other way. Instead, I was forced into military service as an archer. So, I was trained half my life to kill things with whatever item I could throw or shoot. I became pretty damn good at my job too. Cause I knew how to shoot things so well, some guy saw fit to give me a higher position. I became Colonel of Advanced Archery or something like that. Anyways, I was basically given a squad of guys who could shoot things as good as I could. Our goal was to patrol along the walls and rooftops and kill the spy running too fast for our guards. In that time, we got a bunch of priests and crazies preaching something about some heaven. If a guard tried to arrest em, it caused a big fuss in the crowd. If an arrow happened to be lodged in the guy's skull, the crowd went home. So, I think I killed about sixteen crazies. My squad told me they had killed about forty one of them. I never knew much about politics, so a squad member, names Yuji, had to tell me about it. He said an army of these guys had amassed and began putting piss yellow turbans on their head. They all had this belief that if they killed the Han they would all go to heaven. Yuji knew stuff like that. He was the intelligent one of the bunch. Not good at decision making though, kinda sucked, he had the facts but couldn't ever use em right. So, we believed him, when he said that a large army of piss heads were coming to take the city in the name of heaven or whatever the hell they were preaching about. Spring had come early. This time, kids weren't playing in the street. Doesn't take a genius to know that armies march in the spring, and one hell of an army was ready, about to bring the sky down to Earth... |

Earlier that week, council had convened under prefect Yuan Shao. The old prefect Lu Zhi was ordered to go north and help Ji. We all sat around, and argued for a little while, deciding on how to handle that massive army charging right towards us. Now, the Turbans had brought along so much siege weaponry that we had to intercept their army and try to destroy the weapons of war. Wen Chou, Yan Liang, and Zhang He were ordered to take out the equipment with a well placed ambush. In the evening, five thousand men were running like hell to get to Ye. It was pretty obvious we had lost. Now, what happened was, Zhang Liang used his connection with the Earth, or some magical mumbo jumbo like that, to detect the ambush. He challenged Wen Chou to a duel. The two fought twenty bouts, then Zhang Liang retreated. Wen Chou charged after him but some Guan Hai guy took Zhang Liang's place in the duel. Wen Chou was too tired to fight, so Yan Liang charged in, defeating and capturing Guan Hai. Now, while this was happening, Zhang He was ambushed by Yellow Turbans. His force was defeated and he was captured. Yan Liang and Wen Chou were surrounded, but they fought their way out. Zhang Liang and his massive army arrived just out of Ye. Before they could start the attack, they had to get their prisoner back. They decided they would give us Zhang He if we gave them Guan Hai. We agreed. fifty men assembled on an open field outside of the walls. Guan Hai began to walk back to his lines, Zhang He did the same. As Guan Hai was just about to reach his lines, I shot him in the head with an arrow, the another arrow hit him in the side, and another in the chest. We got Zhang He away before anything could happen to him. Now, Zhang Liang was angry, and the siege truly began. All the catapults began to fire at the city. It was that day I saw some of the most sickening things you can see. Children were lodged under massive rocks, their guts pushed out of their skin. The city was bombarded through the night, then into the next morning, and through the next night. When it finally stopped, Ye's walls were broken in three places, fifty thousand citizens were dead, and thirteen thousand soldiers were gone. More citizens had died than soldiers, and I still have trouble getting past the sight of their crushed bodies scattered about like trash on the street. The estimates said Zhang Liang had 113,000 troops, and we had 45,000. Yuan Shao was worried, he had managed to beat back soldiers coming through the holes in the walls. The situation was pretty damn frightening, at any time, the whole city could be captured. In the morning the Turbans launched a full assault. Their troops had built a whole bunch of ladders. They began to climb up the walls. I shot them down as they climbed onto the wall, but I couldn't stop an enemy with that many troops. I jumped off the wall, and onto a house roof below. An archer yelled to me, "Get your ass back up here coward!" I shouted back, "Get down here dumbass!" Troops were flooding in from every which way. The gate had broken down and the Han soldiers were fighting inch for inch in the city streets. Stones were falling from the sky, the whole city was on fire. I jumped down onto the street and began running. I ran over to a whole in the wall. Turbans were pouring through it. I looked back, and more of them were scrambling towards me. I ran into an alleyway and onto another avenue. I looked down towards the gate, on the street, Turbans were surging forward. I looked back and saw the administration complex, along with a bunch of my allies. I realized where I was, the trade road. It led right to the center of the town. I climbed up onto building by hoisting myself up on a balcony, and began to shoot the Turbans below. They saw me and broke into the house. The people inside began screaming, and I knew that was my queue. I ran onto the roof, a couple soldiers were there too. One guy charged me, but I dodged his sword and threw him off the roof, another guy sliced at me, I sidestepped him and stabbed him in the back with an arrow. More and more Turbans were climbing onto the roof. i jumped to the next house and began running, jumping from house to house. I got to the southern side of Ye. I looked down, and a bunch of archers saw me. They began firing, but their aim was pretty poor. I ran forward ducking under a barrel on one roof, then leaping onto another one. I grabbed a large wooden plank and blocked five arrows, then jumped into a hole on another roof. I landed in a bunch of burnt wood, but I had lost the soldiers. I ran out the back entrance. I was pretty lucky, most of the Turbans had pushed further into the city. I walked onto the main road, and stepped towards a hole in the gate. I sighed with relief and walked out of the hole, stepping over some debris and bodies. I leaned against the outer gate and sat down for a bit. I was so tired, tired of all that running. I dozed off. I woke up slumped on the back of some horse. I looked around, a bunch of imperial soldiers were walking together, leading their horses along. I slid of the horse onto my ass. A soldier helped me up. "What the hell happened?" "We realized we were losing the battle, so a couple of us soldiers pushed through the Turbans and got free." "So what happened to the city?" "Look for yourself." I turned around, and saw a large smoke cloud. I could almost hear the screaming of the citizens, and smell the burning wood. "So then who did survive." "Generals Yan, Wen, Zhang, and Gao are attacking us to lord Cao. They say he'll shelter us. I began to walk off, the guard shouted, "What are you doing?" I replied simply, "I am tired of fighting." |

Ye suffered massive casualties from the siege. The city had been ravaged by the Yellow Turbans, who lacked proper training and discipline. Zhang Liang's troops carried back with them a large amount of loot, and left the city for dead. Cao Cao rendezvoused with the former retainers of Yuan Shao, and entered Ye. |
