Griffin is dangerous in my view. He is cute the right way. He makes small remarks that stay in peoples minds. He plants the seeds of hatred and leaves it at that. He is no debator as we saw on tv but in my view his party will grow there is no doubt about that. He got a 2.2 at Cambridge in History I think. He is no mug.

karenjane
Of course he is no mug!

The mugs are those who fall for right wing extremist propaganda!

Who was it said " I detest what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"?
I believe that Stalin said it to Churchill at Yalta...
What a shame - I had always thought that expression was an original of Anne-Marie's :bl:
Well... one deranged megalomaniac is probably as good as another, Joseph :clare:

(It is often attributed to Voltaire - though many who like to think they know better have since attributed it to Evelyn Beatrice Hall. Both are now safely dead of course, like Stalin  )

Because, anyone who is willing to vote Labour, for example, is in no position to criticise the BNP. Such a person has surrendered any claim to occupation of the moral high ground.

O dear! :bl:

karenjane
According to Page 45 of a Parliamentary Hansard page, they polled 193,000 votes, 0.7% of the total, in the 2005 General Election, marginally higher than in the 2001 election. Their best result was in Barking with 17% (the candidate came third), and in Burnley and Dewsbury they had over 10%. BNP lost all but 34 of their deposits.

We need to bear in mind that the percentage of total vote does not indicate the percentage from the white indigenous population. In Dewsbury, for instance, the Asian population is higher than in most towns. Indians and Pakistanis who had experience in textile manufacturer went there because there was work available, in which they were experienced.

In the European elections they polled (BNP) 900,000 did they not?

karenjane I am not sure how many they got in the European election, but I think they are getting stronger, mainly in immigrant areas. So much for them claiming not to be racially motivated.

I just said they were in no position to criticise the BNP.

And they aren't.

No, the mugs are those who fall for the scaremongering, and cannot see the evil they are actually tolerating and voting for.

Rose, not all immigrants are of different races.

Anyhow, you said earlier in the thread that you would not be happy if your area changed culturally.

A Muslim neighbour is one thing. But for the whole neighbourhood become Muslim is surely more troublesome.

Do you expect others to accept that, and not be bothered?

No wonder people in immigrant areas are unhappy. Their areas have changed culturally.

The trouble with all these politicians lies in the fact that they are running scared of one another; pity they are notwise enough to recognise that which they should really be scared of - the devil - he is permitted his say - but wait for when Our Blessed Lord decides to have His.

Do you think the SNP might meet with equal success in the rest of the UK?

About the same as the National Socialist party when they first put candidates up for election.
