Ushaw Online looks interesting.

It offers the opportunity for Catholics to deepen or refresh their knowledge of the Faith through study which you can undertake from your own P.C., in a flexible module form, either for personal reasons or for professional ones. They have tutor groups in the form of discussion forums and real time conferencing through a live chat link and white board.

Here it is: http://www.ushaw.ac.uk/html/outreach/outreach_web/index.php

I, myself, would love to do undertake something like this...I just need a little more time in my life. :juggle:

Looks very good.

These courses/modules have been available for years at many Universities/Colleges but its great to see them on line and so flexible.

They can also count towards the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies awarded by the Board of Studies of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales.

Is this the current version of the exam that used to be done in fifth and sixth form, equivalent to O and A levels?

I think this is the qualification required by teachers of RE wishing to teach it in Catholic schools.
It is also available through an Open University course.

In Scotland, the only qualification acceptable to the Church there is through one course at Glasgow University, about which I have heard nothing whatever that would be politely repeatable in here!

I thought the Church did not exactly approve of secular monopolies Anne-Marie (joke]

The CCRS is the qualification for teaching RE in Catholic schools. It replaced the Catholic Teachers' Certificate in 1991.
I have been doing this course online for 18 months and have found it really enjoyable. The discussion forums are similar to those on Catholic Cyberforum ( although not so heated!!)
Next term I am doing the 'Church' module. Now that could be very interesting......... :wall:
