Please pray for my Grandson

My Grandson, aged 3.5, had an accident at nursery today. He dragged a rocking horse up a ramp outside, and before the teacher could stop him, slid down it on the horse, hit the bottom and went over the top. He chipped 3 teeth and made one loose, his teeth went through his top lip, and he has grazes above his lip and on his chin and the fattest top lip I've ever seen! Tomorrow he's going to the dentist.
It's so like him to do something so daring ~ he takes after his Dad who used to be a professional mountain biker and has broke almost every bone it's possible to break, including smashing his jaw twice, and rupturing a kidney! I'm dreading when he is a teenager and gets his hands on skateboards/bikes and the like!
Please pray there is no real damage done, and that the dentist can file the sharp edge on his front tooth down ok and that he looks like his normal, beautiful self again soon...

Boys!!

Boys!!
Sexist!

As a child, I learned to ride my new bike... but came off at speed, removing the skin from my right knee, leaving the knee-cap fully visible. The children's clinic we had in them days bandaged me up, placing lint over the hole. The flesh re-grew through and over the lint, much to their consternation when they wanted to remove it!

A year later, I was minding my own business cycling along, when some idiot suddenly ran out in front of me - I knew what the brakes were for, so I used them. They worked... and as I flew through the air, I eventually realised holding on to the bike might not be wise, so I let go. As I crashed to the ground knowing the bike was about to crash down on top of me, I heard it hit the ground next to me.

As a teenager, my front wheel went over a bit of twig on a roundabout... I completed the journey round it on my chin.
Feeling tough, I later decided I too could climb trees... until a branch snapped beneath my left foot and gravity took over. Thankfully, another branch caught me on the way down and I really didn't mind the pain.

Not that I've learned much, because about five years ago I was looking at a projecting wall of rock beside a road in Provence. There was a vertical bit over a foot high at the bottom, followed by a great height at about 45º above it. Knowing there was no way I could get up it, I ran at it and jumped onto the slope. Being an idiot, I just kept putting one foot in front of the other... until I realised this was not meant to be happening! Stopping, I looked an awfully long way down. As I stood still, wondering how to get back down, gravity took over... so my feet started trying to keep up (or down!) with the rest of me. As I reached the road below, my knees gave-in and my face was splattered on the gravel road. Which was just as well, as the other side of the road (where I would otherwise have continued) was a stone wall of less than three feet high... followed by a very long fall to rocks on the dry river-bed beneath, which would have killed me. Covered in blood, I decided to sleep it off (I was sober, as I seldom drink) - which probably didn't amuse my host on seeing the red bedlinen later! :clare:

Don't worry about your men, Mrs.P - there'll be much more of the same... and they'll probably enjoy the memories later :smoker:

Thanks for the prayers!
The dentist isn't unduly worried, and didn't feel treatment was necessary. The worst that could happen is the teeth could go black if the nerve has been affected by the impact, in which case he'll have to have them removed...or they could be fine! It's a case of wait and see.
He was back on form today, and none the worse for wear apart from a scabby face!
