Alan Would you mind if I added my daughter to your list, who is taking a gap year before university please? She and her friend Sara worked hard for many months to gain enough money to do some travelling for a few months. They have currently visited Russia, Mongolia and China and are now in Vietnam over the Christmas period. Sadly a few days ago my daughter Heather's camera and phone either got lost or stolen. Fortunately she had managed to upload most of her photos to that point to a Flick'r photo page in an Internet cafe so at least she won't have lost photos of her wonderful memories. She now hopes to buy a cheap camera for the rest of their trip. They were having a wonderful time until that point and it has been a great learning experience for them both at only the age of 18. They plan to visit Cambodia next and complete their travels doing a charity project helping to rebuild a school in Nepal. Please could forum members pray that my brave (sometimes impetuous) girl and her friend will be kept safe and sound as they continue on their travels and be brought safe back to us. I thank God every day for emails. Heather has been kind enough to email us every few days when she has arrived at a new city. It has been a blessed relief. Years ago people had to rely on postcards - which often took weeks to arrive and sometimes didn't arrive until the travellers themselves had returned...!! The phone business has caused us now to download Skype to our computer - I heartily recommend it!! We spoke to Heather for over an hour on Christmas Day - for free!! Many thanks God Bless you all Maria. |
