How's your day been?; exactly what it says on the tin!

I thought I'd start a thread just so we can say how our day has been, what we're up to, good or bad

After my visit to the docs and the ECG (which panicked me to start with I must admit!) I then took myself off for a solitary coffee (yay!) :cup: and a bit of retail therapy (not done that for a while) and bought a lovely russety-coloured fine corduroy skirt with sequins and embroidery round the hem (ankle length), and a long-sleeved high-necked dark purple t-shirt to wear with it (there is purple in the pattern on the skirt). Very nice, and also very modest!

How about your day?

I've had to tolerate a very irritating individual - I always reckon I'll have done far more than my share of Purgatory before I ever get nesr the place!
Just done the food shopping, to avoid the crowds tomorrow. The only treat I allowed myself was a quarter melon - I love it.
Oh... and a bar of absolutely orange chocolate!
I can't really count bread as a luxury, though having driven all the way to a large branch of Morrison's, I only managed to find one large multi-grain loaf - their's is by far the best. I increasingly find wholemeal bread tastes of suet!!! So I also bought a seeded bloomer - totally un-filling, but it don' arf taste good!
Tonight, I'll be having some gorgeous tinned crab I bought in France last month (and served simply with lettuce and buttered bread). I brought about 6 tins of the stuff back, along with a case of my favourite Lambrusco, which I drove all the way to Italy just to buy!

I'm still dithering about whether to sail round The Island (Isle of Wight, for the un-initiated) again next Saturday, because the weather forecasts vary so much. I'll be back home there again for a week in three weeks time. :nw:

Poor sleep, as usual. Kept my teeth gritted and my eyes shut till 7.30 when Mrs O'R came in from her nightshift. Kids at their grandparents. Derisory prayer, then toast x 2, jam (no butter - it's Friday), black coffee. Can't remember the drive to work, never can. Packed up inflatable boats. Moved some stock from the top shelf, and had to come down, sweating & hyperventilating with vertigo. Went back up and finished. Packed up more stuff. Ate some oatcakes & plums. Closed up the warehouse, parked the forklift, about to go home. Mrs O'R out at a concert tonight. Baked potato & beans for me, put the kids to bed, and then prepare for tomorrow's Divine Liturgy at our Russian monastery.

Have you tried Morrison's spelt and rye bread, Anne-Marie? It's totally delish

Actually managed to get a drugget sitter and had a first night out with Mrs draig in a long, long time! Meal out in Chester but Mrs draig felt too tired for drinking - so I had to drink all the red wine all on my own

Now feeling quite 'silly' :highland:

Merry Friday everyone!!!!! :yeah:

Lovely day with beloved daughter. Shopped for grandbaby's fall clothes & first shoes (excellent sale!). Then off to the salon for hair upkeep. End day with dinner with in-laws to celebrate son-in-law's upcoming birthday. But a very serious pall & perspective over the day: much-loved local auto mechanic's grandbaby of 3 months died in his sleep; in-laws were at the funeral home to see the family before the dinner. Celebration very muted, of course - dear mother of son-in-law in tears on arrival.

Yes - forgot to mention: pick kids up from swimming, feed them, me cats, guinea pigs; bang my head off a brick wall on here for an hour and wait up to watch Mrs O'R drink a glass of wine before turning in.

Still couldn't sleep. :hissyfit:

I shouldn't even be on here...I have a list of jobs as long as my arm to do in the house, and cake to bake, and shopping to do!

Bad housewife! :nono:

Logging off now

Been to the fishmonger in the High Street first thing, then for a two hour walk (just not the same here as on The Island! ), had a ham baguette lunch followed by loads of fruit, made two loaves of bread, done the washing up (being a slob, I never do it before bed! :knitter: ), checked Mass Readings :readbible: , chosen and practiced hymns for tonight's Mass... and now I'm wasting time before I make my way there :waiting:
Halibut for dinner, followed by a lonely evening... how I wish I had someone to share it with :yeah:

Lovely day at monastery. Kids fed and watching a Doctor Who. spoke to Mrs O'R on phone (she's working a late and a night, back-to-back). Off to phone my Dad now.

No sleep, crazy with tiredness.

I've been out this afternoon, working on a friend's car, replacing the two front shock absorbers on their Volkswagen Passat.

Kids fed and in bed, my time now to chill and unwind :)

I did so much yesterday round the house, combined with a visit from the babypogles and then a bus journey to and from Mass, I felt exhausted by early evening!
Today I am still in pjs and having a Sabbath day of rest, but will be making cake and apple charlotte and salmon and spinach pie for tea! Hubs is decorating the bathroom and it's a right mess ~ why did I bother cleaning it yesterday?!
