I'm not sure what is up with me but I am aware of this low-level anxiety that's been around for a couple of days, which seems to have grown into an impending sense of doom! I am aware of being quite overwhelmed by life in general atm and a difficult decision I have to make, and have just had the hardest day interviewing from 9am til 5pm, so it could just be overload, but it's not nice and I know I really need to ask for prayer. I feel quite alone in it and bordering on tears :(

I Am With You (page 18)

There will be times when you will not see the immediate way ahead. You may be filled with panic, wanting to avoid what could be a disastrous step. Remember that you do not always need to see the road ahead, It is sufficient, for the moment, to see Me!
Be sure that merely keeping close to Me guarantees your moving in the right direction, despite questions and doubts raging in your mind.
Just hide in Myself and know that you will soon see clearly.

From The Sayings of the Desert Fathers:
Quote:

When the holy Abba Anthony lived in the desert he was beset by accidie, and attacked by many sinful thoughts. He said to God 'Lord I want to be saved, but these thoughts do not leave me alone; what shall I do in my affliction? How can I be saved?' A short while afterwards, when he got up to go out, Anthony saw a man like himself sitting at his work, getting up from his work to pray, then sitting down and platting a rope, then getting up again to pray. It was an angel of the Lord sent to correct and reassure him. He heard the angel saying to him 'Do this and you will be saved.' At these words, Anthony was filled with joy and courage. He did this and he was saved.

Praying that the desert will bloom for you again soon.

Through the prayers of St Anthony the Great and of all our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God have mercy on us and save us. Amen

Thinking about you Mrs P and saying a little prayer for you. Interviewing all day is one of the most draining things you can do - far more stressful than BEING interviewed all day!

Lord hear my prayer

I've just seen this, if you still feel like this, go and see your doctor IMMEDIATELY. I don't want to alarm you but "an impending sense of doom" can be one of the classic signs of cardiac problems though not necessarily so. React to it as you would to unexpected chest pain, go and get it checked out - IMMEDIATELY.

God bless

I thought it would be more anxiety or stress related. Please go and speak with your GP
Take care

Mairtin, you're scaring me

I have had some chest pain recently, but I am taking tablets for gastric problems and thought it was related to that. I think I'd better get checked out :(
